Nasty Walmart quality reheated brisket. The bbq "au jus" was sweet baby rays I think.

The view and the server is the only thing that is keeping this from a one star review. I'm a local and let me tell all the rafters staying at AOTG to avoid this place like the plague. There are so many amazing options 10 minutes away in Fayetteville-do not waste your money on overpriced Aramark commissary food. Smokey's was once the gold standard of the area for amazing fine dining with a spectacular view. Those days are gone. They fed me microwaved "brisket" that was the same crap you buy at Walmart. They also charged me $22 for this mess. Never again. The fries were decent so I ate all of those. The green beans would have been good had they not been swimming in apple cider vinegar.

Great service, food and they have a gorgeous outdoor seating area to take in the scenery!

This place is a little tricky to find because there are several buildings on the property, but there is signage to help you out. The view from the deck and near the windows is amazing and worth coming here on its own. The food is pretty great. We ordered the Black and Bleu Wagyu burger, which was really good. We also ordered the Bacon Cheddar Jalapeño Wagyu burger, even better. The fries were really good as well. The appetizer we ordered, which I don't see on any online menus was some type of pimento cheese hush puppies plate and it was absolutely terrific. The service here was really great as well. Would for sure come back here again. No doubt.

The food is good, the service was also good and the ambiance and views are GREAT. The food is overpriced for what you get but overall it was good. I was giving three stars but unlike a lot of others the staff made the difference for us, Faith was excellent and we got lucky enough to have her as our waitress two different nights during our stay. She was polite, gave us suggestions and always checked to see how we are doing. The Salmon was great, ribs are excellent but the family favorite was the fettuccine Alfredo which was excellent. Stay away from the filet, it was small for "8 ounces" and overpriced. Everything else was good, the spinach and artichoke w/ grab was solid also. Overall the resort is a great property and this restaurant is nice having for easy access so you don't have to leave to eat.

Great and beautiful location. Food was very good. BUT good thing we weren't in a hurry. 1.5 hrs for appetizers. 2 hrs for main meal. Waitress didn't seem to care it took so long. Maybe it was a fluke. It's our only experience there.

    Kids Cheese burger with fries

Amazing view with great food and an amazing place for family, but if you have allergies, you might not wanna go ! +waiter was nice.

Bruno's Spotted Hare is fantastic…read more I stopped by recently with a family member while visiting, having heard good initial things about this restaurant. The space is gorgeous; it has the dark coziness of a lodge with beautiful, wild-inspired accents. We were seated in a booth near the window: the booth was comfortable but may be a tight squeeze if two larger adults are sitting on the same side (I'd recommend asking for a table in that case). I started off with an American Trilogy cocktail and loved it; it was surprisingly smooth and easy to drink while being flavorful. We debated appetizer options but went with the sourdough bread and butters. The butters were rosemary, garlic, and sorghum, and while all were great, the sorghum was a favorite. The bread was flavorful and nicely chewy. I'm always happy to see a vegetarian-friendly soup on a menu, so I ordered the beans and greens soup and loved it. It has a very deep flavor, yet the beans weren't overly mushy. The server (who was amazing) recommended some Tabasco for adding heat, which I enjoyed. For entrées, my dining partner got the fried chicken on the server's recommendation, and I got the mushroom pasta. The fried chicken was described by my relative as a crunchy coating with a moist meat; they called it "the best fried chicken" they've had. I tasted the mashed potatoes and can happily vouch for them, as they were creamy and perfectly seasoned. My dining partner raved about the home-style green beans, too. My mushroom pasta was fantastic. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were flavorful without being slimy or mushy. The pasta was hearty and cooked al dente. As a pleasant surprise. I got a couple slices of bread with my pasta, too; this time topped with some cheese and seasoning. It was perfect for soaking up the last bits of pasta sauce, as I cleaned my plate. I got dessert to go; it was the cornmeal pound cake and packaged conveniently (with the ice cream separate). It was delicious even at home; the cake itself wasn't too sweet, meaning that the combination of it, the ice cream, and the honey had a perfect balance of flavor. I will try to make a special trip here whenever I'm in the area. It's a beautiful, special addition to the local dining scene.

The menu seems to be all over the place. I wouldn't call the cuisine any particular genre since there were items that categorically fall under "Mediterranean" as well as "Asian-fusion". Two things in particular that didn't make sense to me. The tofu on the Mediterranean bowl. Tofu marinated in soy sauce is not what comes to mind when I'm thinking of any country in the Mediterranean. Also, the tasting menu has an option for an entree choice of veal shank. I was informed there would be an upcharge since it's a pricier menu item, which is totally acceptable. What I was not prepared for was a giant cut of meat (it had to have been 10oz or more) with a huge bone still attached. The portion did not fit with a tasting menu. Luckily, my husband has the appetite of a small horse so he finished it.

Outstanding farm-to-table dining in Snowshoe…read more For anyone visiting Snowshoe Mountain and hoping to find a truly elevated dining experience, Appalachia Kitchen stands apart. The concept is simple but well executed: locally sourced Appalachian ingredients, seasonal menus, and careful preparation. In an area where "upscale" dining often leans heavily on pricing instead of execution, Appalachia Kitchen focuses on what actually matters--quality, balance, and consistency. Highlights included: * A perfectly cooked filet paired with root vegetables and a rich, restrained sauce * Thoughtful plating without unnecessary theatrics * A wine list that complements the menu instead of competing with it * Attentive service that feels professional but relaxed One standout moment: the staff happily accommodated a custom French press paired with vanilla gelato and chocolate chips--a small detail, but one that shows how much pride they take in the guest experience. Snowshoe attracts visitors from across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, and for many, this will be the memorable meal of their trip. If you're deciding where to spend your money for a special dinner, this is the restaurant that delivers on both quality and value. Appalachia Kitchen sets the benchmark for what higher-end dining in Snowshoe should be.
