What an incredible find! I came here for dinner and was blown away- the chicken wraps were delicious. The customer service was excellent - - friendly and welcoming. But the real highlight? Service was very good, view is spectacular. Food was delicious, both the salmon and the brisket, also the risotto. I even liked the side salad and the herb dressing. Wish they had just a few more options on the menu that lean toward the healthier / high-protein side of things but overall good. Would love to see an ahi tuna salad sort of option. read more

There are so many amazing options 10 minutes away in Fayetteville-do not waste your money on overpriced Aramark commissary food. Smokey's was once the gold standard of the area for amazing fine dining with a spectacular view. Those days are gone. They fed me microwaved "brisket" that was the same crap you buy at Walmart. They also charged me $22 for this mess. Never again. The fries were decent so I ate all of those. The green beans would have been good had they not been swimming in apple cider vinegar. read more

This place is a little tricky to find because there are several buildings on the property, but there is signage to help you out. The view from the deck and near the windows is amazing and worth coming here on its own. The food is pretty great. We ordered the Black and Bleu Wagyu burger, which was really good. We also ordered the Bacon Cheddar Jalapeño Wagyu burger, even better. The fries were really good as well. The appetizer we ordered, which I don't see on any online menus was some type of pimento cheese hush puppies plate and it was absolutely terrific. The service here was really great as well. Would for sure come back here again. No doubt. read more

The food is good, the service was also good and the ambiance and views are GREAT. The food is overpriced for what you get but overall it was good. I was giving three stars but unlike a lot of others the staff made the difference for us, Faith was excellent and we got lucky enough to have her as our waitress two different nights during our stay. She was polite, gave us suggestions and always checked to see how we are doing. The Salmon was great, ribs are excellent but the family favorite was the fettuccine Alfredo which was excellent. Stay away from the filet, it was small for "8 ounces" and overpriced. Everything else was good, the spinach and artichoke w/ grab was solid also. Overall the resort is a great property and this restaurant is nice having for easy access so you don't have to leave to eat. read more

We both had burgers and fries and drank water. The bill was $44. The burgers were ok and the fries were cold. They had all the windows open and gnats kept getting on our food. Sorry but hamburger was not worth $20. read more

We went for their Dine into the New Year on the Gorge: A Smokey's Plated Dinner. It was a set menu and you had two choices for everything. The appetizers: Shrimp cocktail had a great cocktail sauce and lots of nice big shrimp around the glass. Even better was the chicken kabobs- they were really well seasoned. Salads: Caesar salad was good, but I loved the winter salad- the goat cheese and butternut squash together was wondeful! I could have been easily done there, both appetizers and salads were huge and delicious. Plus, they brought out some really soft bread that was soo good I couldn't stop eating it. Main entree was prime rib (or chicken), the prime rib was good with yummy mashed potatoes and asparagus. The only let down was dessert, dark chocolate tart filled with raspberry cheesecake mousse- the shell was too hard and felt like it should have been chocolate, the mousse and raspberries was good. And the alternative dessert of cheesecake was delicious. Plus, they had live music with a singer and guitar player and some new years items scattered about to get into the spirit. I would only suggest maybe adding some fireworks and/or champagne (and reworking the chocolate tart). Overall, a really nice evening! read more

Just had an amazing experience at Smokey's. It was our first time and we were not expecting to be blown away but we were pleasantly surprised. Amazing area with breathtaking views to enjoy while you dine. We had the best server ever. Her name was River and she was friendly, accommodating and very attentive. She gave us opinions and suggestions and did not lead us wrong. Would love to have her again!! As it was our first visit we wanted to try several things. Here is our honest review. Appetizers: we tried fried green tomatoes and the pimento cheese hush puppies. Both were great. Hush puppies were our favorite. Great crunch and if you enjoy a little heat, you'll love these. Fried green tomatoes were decent and tasty. Meals: I had the crab cakes with sides of mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. He had bbq ribs with fries and green beans. We loved the ribs. Very tender, literally fell off the bone. He could not stop raving about the green beans. The crab cakes tasted great but we're very soft and not my favorite style. Dessert: we had chocolate lava cake and the orange cream bread pudding. The lava cake was delicious but the bread pudding was our least favorite of the night. Very dry and not custard-y at all. Overall we can't wait to go back and we hate that we didn't think to take pics of our food. This place like many these days, seems to be suffering from a staff shortage. We were staying here at the campground and decided to eat dinner here on our arrival evening. About half of the tables sat empty, due to lack of servers to accommodate them. Our "10 minute wait" turned out to be 45, and it was 60 minutes from the time we were seated until the food arrived. One whole meal and three sides were forgotten about completely. The prices are on the high side for the quality and amount of food you get, in my opinion. I do take into consideration that it is property dining, and you do have to drive into town for anything else, so they expect most people to choose convenience over price. read more

The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because the brisket sandwich was actually good (or I was just really hungry because I waited an hour and a half for it). We were a party of 12 and got seated outside. We were blinded by the sun for the 2 hours we were there. We asked to move and they said no (we would have split our group up for better accommodations). Just a thought, this is probably an issue every day with the bright hot sun beating down on outside tables and customers, why not get a sun shade? There were multiple tables outside and everyone was bothered by the sun. I was with a group of friends and most meals came out except for 2 meals after an hour and a half wait with no explanation of the wait or the missing food. Our waitress never came out to check on us after we got our food from someone else. We had to flag someone down and ask about the 2 missing meals. The chicken fingers took another 10 minutes and the grilled chicken sandwich took another half hour. Our waitress eventually came out and she made the excuse that "they threw the chicken on the grill again to make sure it was thoroughly cooked." Okay, obvious lie, she forgot to put the order in. At this point, the most aggravating part was that our server barely checked in on us, didn't even apologize about the long wait or the lack of food, and we didn't expect to get sun burnt at a restaurant. We were on the river all day and didn't get burnt but the restaurant did us in. The table next to us was also having this issue. read more

Our server Heather was amazing this evening! As an owner of a steakhouse we can say the ribeye temperature was spot on, the ribs were tender, the tiramisu was to die for along with the Mac and cheese (even if my husband is a huge critic when comparing to his ). Here for vacation. First, the view is amazing. That's all this is really worth. If you are looking for a last minute dinner, and not picky this would be your spot. Not good at all for a special occasion kind of dinner. Crab cakes had more filling in it then actual crab. Pork was dry, and Mac n cheese had no seasoning. Cookie dessert was so hard to top it off. Due to Covid this was the only restaurant open in this resort. We ate here frequently during our stay. The food was just ok. We ordered wings, caesar salad, fried chicken sandwich, burger, fries, crab & spinach & artichoke dip, macaroni, and the fried catfish. Not all at one sitting though. Lol. The dip was amazingly good. It was so good that nothing was left. The macaroni was dry and was sitting for a long time so it was a bit hard. Overall the food was decent but the only thing that stood out was the dip. The salad was lettuce, parmesan cheese, and dressing, nothing too spectacular. Warning if you get the seventh circle for your wings, they are extremely spicy. I love spicy foods and eat jalapenos raw as well as ghost peppers but this was hoooooot! Definitely appreciate the restaurant for being open. read more

Here on vacation. Loved the meal. So much that we came back two nights later for dinner again! Staff was excellent. Steaks and BBQ are top notch. First night I ordered a half rack of ribs... it was massive! I don't know who possibly could eat a whole rack. The kids all got filets they Loved them so much the ordered The same meals again two days later. The views are incredible. Perfect spot for a sunset. The smoked meats are some of the best I've had. Can't say enough about the attitudes and demeanor of the staff. They all are top notch at Adventures on the gorge. Chettys was a great restaurant on site also! Get the pit smoked wings! Found this place after 2 others in the area we chose were closed down when we arrived. Place was fairly busy, with a 40 minute wait but plenty of patio tables available. I asked to be seated outside where I was told by one of the hostess's " We arent sitting people out there due to the threat of rain"...Mind you there were people out there eating also. I told her I would take my chances. She huffed, grabbed menus and escorted us to a corner table. The view was amazing. Our waitress was young, and seemed overwhelmed. She took our order, brought food and thats the last time we saw her until the check arrived. The food was "ok".. I have had better, and the portions were small. I guess if you're looking for a place on a patio with a beautiful view in the area then this is it. OHHHHH.. and the hour we were there... It DIDNT rain! read more

Smokey's opened at 4 pm.. in line at 4 pm and have about 10 people in line ahead of us... we're told there was a 30 minute wait which was questionable given that they just opened, but okay... at 5:45 after we just gave up and left!! I did not get the chance to dine at Smokey's on the Gorge. My husband and I walked all the way from our cabin in the dark to go to dinner and we decided to stop in the shop first. We asked the girl working where the restaurant was and she was rude. She asked us are we looking for Smokey's because we wanted to eat there or do we have an appointment. I had no idea what she was talking about and told her we want to go to dinner then she told us oh they're closed for the winter. It was the middle of November so I said oh well it's not really winter..she said they close after bridge day. Again, no idea what she's talking about. My husband & I are from out of town we have no idea what bridge day is. Anyway, there should DEFINITELY DEFINITELY be signs around Adventures on the Gorge that say Smokey's is closed or that it is seasonal. There is nothing anywhere that says it is closed. If you are hungry at night at your cabin and there is nothing that says it's closed you walk there wanting/expecting dinner. There should be something in the packet you receive when you check in where it tells about the places on the property it should state they are closed during the certain times and it should definitely be on the main sign that says Smokey's and points you to it. read more

Hard to truly evaluate a resort-based restaurant on the lady day of their season, so keep that in mind here. Service was fine and attentive. We began with generous salads and I had their Farmer's Salad. Huge, fresh and I enjoyed the pickled deviled egg on top. I followed with the quail. Two full birds, grilled nicely and quite juicy. Served on a bed of wild rice and mushrooms. Truly delicious! Dessert -- warm apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream was large, served hot, and was very tasty. GO TO CHETTYS AND GET A BURGER, DONT BOTHER COMING HERE. Everything was insanely over seasoned - unless you want the tuna appetizer, that was edible. The pork and mashed potatoes had SO much rosemary I scraped it off and still it was too strong. The food was the best part though considering the service. The drinks took over 35 minutes - I got a ginger ale.... then after waiting, we received the wrong drinks.... then we ordered food and nothing came out on time and two people never got food. We also had to remind them to bring bread and water. Also our appetizer never came and we got a side of veggies instead which we never asked for. The girl we had serving said she was new but if that's true, it was a terrible management decision to put a new employee on a table for ten. Seriously. I had an amazing experience at Smokey's. We had just finished a grueling bike around the gorge and I -needed- some protein pronto. The ribs I ordered were to die for and the Brussels sprouts on the side are so worth the extra charge. But honestly the best part was the service. Our server Caleb was wonderful he took so much time and used so much patience to both deal with my crazy family and explain all of their un-necessary questions. He really added a fun pop to our whole experience. All in all even the atmosphere is wonderful. All the food is cooked day of and you can smell the smoker in the main dining area. Go to Smokey's and try all the sides. (Tip your servers they deserve it!) read more
