After moving from the east side of Las Vegas to the southwest side of town, I did not want to have to drive 45 minutes each way to visit the dental office I had previously been going to for simple routine cleanings. After I did a bit a research and compared with my dental plan, I found Smooth Dentistry and am I glad that I did. First off, the office is brand new. New equipment, new chairs, new everything. The office is extremely clean (as it is brand new) but the atmosphere was fantastic. Very easy going, very friendly, professional but not stiff, just an overall excellent operation. Dr. Chon was a great help in determining the next steps in my "dental health" and the front office person laid out a financial plan for me that actually worked. That is the other part of my recommendation of this office. Smooth Dentistry and its staff do what is right for the patient because they care. The financial plan they created for me fit my needs and I felt the prices were completely fair. I have not had that experience before. My prior dental office would charge me high prices and then expect me to finance it with their in-house financing (that carried interest rates significantly above my credit cards). So aside from over-charging, they were making a killing on the interest! Talk about a double dip. All in all, Dr. Chon is my new dentist and will continue to be as such. Ok, so I really shouldn't have waited until I had excruciating jaw pain to be looking for a dentist, but who really enjoys getting their teeth examined for possible cavities or worse?? I was lucky to find Dr. Chon's positive Yelp reviews, and his office was able to quickly fit me into their schedule within a few days after I called. I was worried that my jaw pain was being caused by a tooth infection because I hadn't been to a dentist for preventive maintenance in a little over a year, and I'm also lazy when it comes to adequately brushing and flossing. The new patient paperwork is only one page, and the $99 cleaning cost includes x-rays and checkup! My cleaning needed to wait until a few weeks later, so I wasn't charged anything on my first visit. Dr. Chon's assistants were careful and efficient when x-raying my throbbing jaw and made sure that there was minimal discomfort. It was only a few minutes afterwards that Dr. Chon was ready to inspect my jaw. This is one honest and supportive dentist because he said that he only saw some redness in my gums and agreed with me that the jaw pain could be from a viral-triggered inflammation of a nerve. No cavities, nothing suspicious from the X-rays, and he didn't rush me to get a cleaning until we were sure that my jaw was healed. Luckily, the swelling diminished on its own after a few weeks, and Kyle (front desk lady) was so patient with me having to cancel and reschedule twice. I'm impressed that Dr. Chon actually does the patient's dental cleanings himself. I have receding and sensitive gums, and his cleaning technique was fast, precise, and as gentle as you can expect when scraping with a sharp pick. The suctioning and rinsing was timed well too so that I wasn't suffocating in yucky saliva. His assistant will finish up polishing and flossing your teeth, and she was just as considerate when working around my gums. This is the first time I can say that a dental visit felt pleasantly tolerable! Another plus: there was no lecture on reminding me to practice better dental hygiene at home (because I already know I should even though I don't). If you want a dentist who's punctual, approachable, listens, and doesn't try to scare you into paying for expensive or unnecessary treatment, come over to see Dr. Chon and staff at Smooth Dentistry for any of your dental concerns, and you'll walk out with a happier and healthier smile! :D read more

I'm really glad I went to this dentistry. Staff we're nice and always polite. I came in 30 minutes before my appointment and they had me seated on one of the rooms and had me watch Netflix so I wouldn't get bored. I had a great experience with Dr. Chon in his wife, they went to same school, same practice and both knowledgable at their job. They answer my questions really well and nice. Like any other person, I have been afraid of dentists for as long as I can remember. Dr. Chon and his staff have been amazing during every visit. I had quite a few problems. But the main issue was that I had a tooth that either needed to be pulled out or fixed with a crown. I was completely terrified when he told me I need a root canal to get the crown. I almost wanted to pull out the tooth myself. I secretly asked his staff if I'm in good hands and they assured me that I was. I don't know what it is. Maybe he has light hands. I didn't feel anything! Dr. Chon was nice enough to call me the next day to see how I was doing. The staff here are nice, professional and overall great. I am glad to have found Smooth Dentisty. Scheduling the appointment was simple by just calling in and providing some information. Before anything got started, Dr.Chon came into the room, introduced himself and was very personable during conversation. The XRAY and cleaning procedure went super smooth, no pun intended. I remember as a kid during XRAY, they'd put this uncomfortable plastic piece in your mouth to bite down on and it just somewhat cut into the gums. But not here. 11/26/17- I really like the staff and the doctor but I am having second thoughts about coming back. My sons two fillings came out. One on the bottom right. First it cracked and they redid the filling. Then it came off again and this morning his tooth cracked. The rest of the filling came out and there is still a hole now with a crack in it. Not to mention the tooth that was said to be scooped out of the cavity still has the cavity. Also the tooth he previously worked on on the top right got infected few months after. There was abscess on the gum so he had to pull it out. This costed me money from the prior procedure and the tooth wasn't even saved because there was an underlying cavity. I am getting extremely aggravated and I am currently looking for a new dentist who actually works on kids and uses quality fillings. read more

Dr. Hoang was our previous dentist and we love her!! But she worked for someone else's practice and it's a bit far from where we lived. When her husband Dr. Chon opened Smooth Dentistry, we switched over and found Dr. Chon just as professional and knowledgable!! Front desk is also patient with scheduling appointments and explaining your insurance coverages to you so you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. We just recently found out that Dr. Hoang decided to join her husband in this location!! I couldn't believe how nice of an experience a dentist could be. I've traveled the country getting appointments from various states and by far Dr. Chon is THE best. I know you have so many choices in dental work in Las Vegas, so you need to be careful on which to choose from. Well if you're reading this, you can stop your search now. From day 1, Dr. Chon will NEVER sell you anything more than what YOU want. Even I had a chipped tooth which I thought a normal dentist would try to get you to fix it ASAP and get billed, however Dr. Chon told me that unless it was giving me pain, there was absolutely no rush to get it fixed (although I did decide to get it fixed with him on the 2nd visit). Had a great experience here after I chipped a tooth while visiting a buddy in Vegas for the week. I'm normally leery of finding a dentist, much less going to one to have my teeth examined, but the friend I was staying with gave this place a solid recommendation, saying he was a patient of Dr. Chon's at a previous dentistry and that he'd recently opened Smooth. The entire process was pretty awesome from the start. The receptionist was friendly, understanding and efficient and set up a quick appointment for me. The office itself was extremely clean and neatly decorated (oddly important to me after some of the experiences I've had with less tidy dentists in Socal). And most important, Dr. Chon was great. He put me at ease about a procedure I initially wasn't comfortable with, and he did his work with extremely gentle hands and a warm demeanor. He did an awesome job! He did a filling, and afterward I couldn't even tell that I'd chipped the tooth. I was really happy with the result and was so appreciative of how everything turned out. Best dental office ever! I had this crazy fear of the dentist which Smooth Dentistry put to rest right away. Kyle runs the front desk and is super sweet and helpful. Krista took care of me from there and she made me feel comfortable and at ease through the whole process. I was still pretty nervous when Dr Chon examined my teeth but he was quick and thorough and made the whole experience so positive and pleasant! This one visit alone completely changed how I felt about the dentist. In fact, I brought my 2 daughters to see him a few weeks later. Dr Chon is so hands on with his office that he made sure the kids and I were comfortable and kept them entertained by putting on a movie in the waiting room.
