Was told they didn't know that but would take order in a few by female employee. Another 3 minutes to take my order and repeat it four times before it was taken by male employee. Female employee starts making the smoothie and reeks her coworker he needs to get himself together and the order was still incorrect because he should have charged me for the banana. She stops making my smoothie and goes to the back for 3 more minutes. She picks the blender up again and finishes making my smoothie. She made one smoothie before mine. I was in the store 24 minutes. I showed up at 8:49 tonight (Friday 8/13/21) and the employee literally locked the door in my face. She cracked the door for a split second to tell me that they have already cleaned up and are closed. I said "but aren't you open till 9:00? No attitude or anything. I had my daughter with me. And she said, "yeah, but we're already closed." Another customer pulled up right behind me, I explained the situation to her before she even got out of her car. She was livid and walked up to the door-- despite her knocking on the door the employee wouldn't make eye contact let alone explain to her why she was closing 10 minutes early. I understand you hire kids because it's cheaper --but you need to have a manager there to make sure that they actually adhere to your policies. They're costing you money. read more

She was wearing gloves but it does not matter. That's nasty. I walked out. I decided to give them another try, assuming that it was an isolated event. This time a male employee was there. I did not know what to order, but mentioned the ingredients that I like, and the associate was able to make a few (good) suggestions for me. She also made polite conversation. While I waited for it to be prepared, I sat at a small table with a sign asking patrons to limit their time there to 15 minutes (due to covid). I went to this location for the first time on my way to Wegmans. It honestly was one of the best smoothies I've had at Smoothie King. I ordered a Lean 1 Strawberry smoothie and I could definitely taste the fresh strawberries. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I was in and out quickly. I recommend that Smoothie King corporate place added focus on employee training, not only at this location but all. Many of the employees that I have observed or personally come in contact with lack basic customer service qualifications. This extends from how to greet customers, basic communication, product sale...general front-line service standards. I visit this smoothie king at minimum 5 times a week. Today, the manager Ikea I believe , argued with me about how I prefer my smoothie. I was speaking to another employee asking her who was the manager and IKEA ran from the back saying" I am the manager " in the most condescending manner. I prefer my smoothies thick and I always order a small because some of the smoothies loose their taste after the small size. I ordered a small and she gave me a 32 ounce that looked like juice /water. When I asked her if they could make it again she told me no and I had to accept a smoothie that I didn't want and paid for already. I spend tons of money on smoothies every week at this location. I am such a fan of Smoothie King. My personal favorite is just the basic smoothie, Strawberry/Banana. This location is right inside the Woodmore Town Center in Glenarden. Being that my husband and are about to move over there, we drove by to take a look at our house to see the status and I decided I wanted to get a smoothie. When I walked in, there was a little bit of wait, but it wasn't too bad. I placed my order and the young guy at the register was very nice. You can see the smoothies are made to order. They take their time creating each smoothie to make sure the correct ingredients are put into the blender. I will say the only thing that they should look at fixing is maybe having more than one person make the smoothies. When I was here, there was only one guy making them, which caused people to wait about 10-15 minutes to get their smoothies. If they had two people, the time would be cut in half. Other than that, this place was pretty clean and the people were very nice! I know once I move, I will be walking over here very often :) read more

I've been to this smoothie King location multiple times. Previously I had a minor issue with the quality of the smoothie that I was given and that was fixed promptly and without issue. But recently and especially today, the service has been absolutely terrible. As per other reviews, the professionalism and customer service skills of the staff (particularly the manager on duty) are substandard. The manager stated that they do not honor coupon offers sent via email by Smoothie King which makes absolutely no sense. If this store does not honor emails that come directly from Smoothie King Corporate (it was NOt a third party as she asserted), then the store needs to be up front about it and have that posted. read more

I came in for a smoothie on a Friday around 1:30 pm and there are two people ahead of me. While I hear other staff in the back talking and laughing, there is one person out front making smoothies for in-person and online orders. My impatience didn't get the best of me today, so I waited. It's sad that customers have to wait 15-20 minutes to have an order taken in-person when clearly there is staff in the back that can be waiting on customers out front.
