My rating is 4.5 stars. I'm rounding up…read more I'm normally in this part of Scarborough a handful of times a year. I was here to pick up Lunar New Year snacks roughly a month early. I had a backlog of coupons to use at Circle K. After my snacks pickup, I did a search and found this one close by. It is fairly close to the Tim Horton's that I had frequented the last time I was in the area. I had no problem finding this Circle K, which is attached to an Esso station. This store has the most parking spots in front of the store that I have ever seen. It must have roughly eight to ten spots. The downside is that this store is super busy that cars coming and going can be a bit stressful. I managed to back into a spot steps away from the entrance. I had coupons for a Polar Pop, and Bang and Joker drinks. I had no problem finding these items in the store. I got my first Polar Pop. The coupon said a 30-ounce drink. The cups don't have ounces on it. The sizes available are small, medium, and large. Instead, I looked at the coupon picture and matched it with the size. I got a large. Sadly, the cup is styrofoam. Ugh! I got a lid. There weren't any straws. Interesting. I saw cream soda and that's what I got. I love cream soda so much. This store has the best Bang flavours that I have ever seen. I got the delish strawberry kiss. It doesn't have any sugar, so that fact made me happy. It also has an incredible selection of Joker flavours. I wanted to try flavours that I had never had, but they had way too much sugar. I stuck with my usual sugar-free ones. There was quite the lineup to pay for items. The line moved fairly fast. I got a woman-man duo at the counter. The woman gave me a straw. I guess that they hand out hermetically sealed ones to folks who buy fountain drinks. The man scanned all three coupons off my phone without a hitch. I had my PC Optimum barcode scanned. I then paid with a debit card. Done! I thanked them both and left. The large Polar Pop was huge. It thankfully fit in my car's cup holder. I loved my cream soda. I wish that the place didn't use styrofoam, though. I believe that the medium is a plastic cup. How odd! I need to add more ice next time. I felt that my drink wasn't cold enough. My drinks were yummy. The strawberry Bang is so good. I want another one or many. I look forward to returning here. For some reason, there are now two Circle K stores in this vicinity that I love. The drink selection is amazing here. Why can't other stores like these ones? I will be back. (487)

I came here for free coffee on National Coffee Day…read more That sentence alone should alarm you for two reasons: - I am not a regular coffee drinker - I live under a rock Thankfully, my Yelp friend, Jennifer P., alerted me about this coupon for a free coffee when I was wrapping up various tasks on my laptop. I was intrigued to get a fancy-flavoured coffee, which is the only way that you'll get me to drink coffee. I also liked getting something for free now and again. Perhaps I had spent too much time researching a standalone Circle K near me yesterday. Most of my local Circle K stores are a part of Esso and have a built-in Tim Hortons. To take advantage of Circle K's coffees, I needed one that didn't have a Timmy's and decided to take an extreme approach by finding a store without a gas station, either. I did quite the map search and found this one. I couldn't tell at first whether it was a part of Malvern Town Centre. I realized that it is, but is separate from the main mall. I like this setup. I don't have to go into a large mall and spend more money than I should. It didn't take long for me to get here. Frankly, I don't recall how long the drive was. It was enjoyable getting here. The parking lot is vast. Other than the van behind me cutting across all parking spots and ultimately had to stop because I ended up in front of it without driving over any parking lines, I found a spot and pulled into it. There was an older gentleman with a walker needing a lot of time to exit the store. I liked how patient all customers around him were. One held the door open. Another asked if he needed a hand with his items. It felt like a special place with good people. I eventually made it inside after thanking the woman for holding the door for everyone. She was cheerful and nice. This section of Scarborough used to get a bad rap for being unsafe. I felt none of that last night. This store is huge. I seriously feel like I have hit the jackpot finding this store. I spent a lot of time looking at items that I had never seen at any other Circle K stores. There were huge bags of Maynards candies for under $11 each. I saw hot food that felt like a mirage at first until I walked over there. Nope, there were corndogs and pizza. What?! I normally love a corndog that it is mine by default. However, a nearly footlong meatball and cheese sub had my undivided attention. It looked yummy. I grabbed it. I eventually made it to the coffee section. It was fancy. There were two coffee machines that offered everything from french vanilla to salted caramel. I went for the hazelnut mocha and added milk. I am such a novice. You need to let go of the button roughly an inch before filling the cup up to its brim. I had some of my drink overflow. Luckily, it wasn't major. You can get milk or 18% cream. So fancy for tea-drinking me. There was also a separate machine for iced coffee. I swear that I need to get out more. All of these items were new and exciting to me. I eventually made it up to the counter. There were two men helping customers. Both were nice. I let the man know that I had a coupon. He scanned it and all was well. I then paid for my sandwich. I am still a newbie to Circle K and Esso. For standalone Circle K stores like this one, they do not accept PC Optimum cards or barcodes. The convenience store must be attached to an Esso to accept PC Optimum cards. I used my debit cad to pay for my sandwich. I tapped and all was great. I thanked the man and left with my items. The hazelnut mocha was delicious. It was creamy with the milk and not overly sweet. I loved the richness of the hazelnut mocha. It did not have a strong coffee taste, which I appreciated. I got home and toasted my sandwich. The meatballs were yummy. You couldn't see the cheese when melted, but I certainly tasted it. The bread was crusty and chewy where they should be. Yum! I have found my new favourite Circle K with fancy coffee drinks and hot food. I'll be back! (385)

In this busy plaza tucked away in the back off of Lawrence Ave E is the Daily Express Convenience…read morestore. Yes, I does not say Express on the signage but the owner assures me his store is called Daily Express Convenience. It's not a large place but it has essentials such as lotto tickets, an ATM, snacks and drinks, alongside with stamps, and TTC tickets. Heck, if you require Fax and Copy service, he has this too! These small businesses are in a fight to survive mode every day so that's why I stopped in here to make my purchases of a lotto ticket and a snack for the road.
