Let me start out with when you walk in you time warp back to the 80's. Don't panic and run for I had the thought to run but became extremely happy I stayed. While sitting and looking around the establishment you can pick up on who is a regular in this place. The interaction is great between the staff and them to the point you would say they are family. The service was great and my wife and I tried the potato balls. They were about the size of a baseball, but dang they were great and with the horsy sauce they got better. To the main courses and my wife had the Chicken parm and stated it was good. The portion was large so she never finished it. My meal was the Wicked Chicken Pasta. This entree was fantastic. I never have seen this on any menu before and was very delighted with it. It has a creamy Gorgonzola sauce with cherry peppers and the chicken is buffalo sauced. I could not not finish this my self and well we have lunch now. When I'm the area I will be back for as they say don't judge a book by its cover. Side note they have live bands in the weekend and the music they play while in there is the great sounds of the 80's! This is a must stop place in CT

We called our server over and explained we were far from happy with our meal. Actually, she was the only good part of the experience. I forget her name, I think it was Anise, but she was very friendly and chatty, mentioned she's moving to Hawaii w/her boyfriend this month. (July 2026) Her manager came over and was very apologetic, told us she would take care of the bill. She also gave us coupons for free appetizers and a drink on our next visit. Think elevated steakhouse meets coastal charm, wrapped in a vibe that says, "Relax, you're about to eat very, very well." Let's start with the amuse bouche, because honestly, more restaurants should bring this level of ceremony to the table. A tiny, perfect bite that sets the tone -- thoughtful, flavorful, and just indulgent enough to make you lean back and say, "Oh, we're doing this tonight." The drink specials? Dangerous in the best possible way. Creative without being gimmicky, balanced, and clearly crafted by someone who knows their way around a shaker. You can tell they're not phoning it in -- these cocktails have personality. And then... the prime rib. The star. The reason you cancel your other dinner plans. Tender, deeply seasoned, and cooked with the kind of confidence that only comes from a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Every slice feels like a small celebration. Service is top‑tier -- warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the night feel special. The staff strikes that perfect balance between polished and personable, and the whole place hums with a relaxed, upscale energy that makes you want to linger. Now, the one critique -- and it's a real one: no kids' menu. I love a good Wagyu moment, but a $28 Wagyu burger for a six‑year‑old feels... ambitious. Delicious, sure. Practical? Not so much. A couple kid‑friendly options would go a long way for families who want to enjoy a great meal without taking out a small loan for the under‑10 crowd. But even with that quirk, Jeramiah's absolutely earns its five stars. It's a standout dining experience -- thoughtful, flavorful, and confidently elevated without ever feeling pretentious. A must‑visit for anyone who appreciates great food, great service, and a night out that feels like an occasion. Cheers

We did wait a bit to get someone to take our order, then Sam came to take care of us, but it was 50 minutes til we ordered. I got swordfish with asparagus risotto - the swordfish was a wee bit overdone, but the risotto was really good. The vodka rigatoni was ordered by a few people and it was a bit salty. The 4 cheese pizza was ok - I did not try it, but it was tried by 3 others and rated crispy and ok. My sister in law liked her eggplant parm. There was no bread, so we were offered 4 free desserts- which was lovely. We LOVED the desserts - I don't even like tiramisu and I really liked it! Cheesecake was delicious and the lava cakes were a hit. There was a little confusion over 6 vs 9 oz pours for the wine - I was only asked once what I wanted and the price was significantly different. Like $23 for the 9 oz rose. The staff was very kind - they were not always nearby and would disappear at times, but our interactions were really nice. We were busy celebrating our nephew's graduation- so we enjoyed ourselves and were grateful for the time together. A few bumps here and there, but we had a lovely evening.

We were seated at a lovely table for two overlooking Main Street - watching people stroll by from that elevated perch behind glass felt almost cinematic. The real star of the show was the food, which is ultimately what you're there for, and it delivered. The menu offers plenty of options without being overwhelming. I started with the Crispy Pig's Head as an appetizer - a bold choice that turned out to be outstanding. For my entrée, the bucatini with seacoast mushrooms, sherry, parmesan, mushroom cream, and fine herbs was perfectly cooked, and carried a subtle but deeply flavorful sauce. And the housemade sourdough with poblano honey butter? Absolutely outstanding. To be fair, our server took a little time to warm up but found their footing and gave us everything we needed. Parking in Mystic on a busy weekend night can also be a challenge and expensive. Neither is reason enough to skip this one. Ship Wright's Daughter is exactly the kind of restaurant Mystic deserves. My husband and I got married last December. We decided we would hold off on celebrating with our family and invite everyone out from California to join us for a weekend full of activities in Connecticut and a special dinner at Shipwright's Daughter during Memorial Day weekend. We contacted the restaurant's events team to work out high level details starting in late January - to book a private room and hold a date and time. From the get go, the communication we received from the event staff was dismal to say the least. Not only did the events manager misquote the estimate for the room reservation, she came back and asked for a much higher price (up charging by an additional 30% of the original minimum fee) two months after we confirmed and discussed the date. She then explained it was due to the holiday weekend. Our date had never changed from the moment we inquired, so we would have appreciated knowing this upfront. Over the course of several months (and an absurd number of emails and a few calls), we tried to solidify the menu and wine selection and made multiple attempts before hearing back from the team. It was about two weeks before the big event when we were able to confirm a menu. It was about four days before the event that we heard back from the beverage director, but by then, my husband and I had already decided we would bring our own wine bottles, not wanting to leave it to chance with this team. I won't go into further details about the frustration we felt regarding their system for communications (they use an internal system that doesn't make it easy for guests to know who is copied on emails and who sees what). That is something I hope they will work out. When the big day came, I walked into the room and noticed there were a number of chairs missing, so I counted the chairs. They had an incorrect number of chairs for adults and not enough high chairs for the toddlers. We had requested a specific number of these chairs (weeks prior and mentioned it multiple times in writing), and I thought it was safe to assume that this was a basic checklist item for events set up. I was dumbfounded in the moment. I couldn't help but wonder what else they were going to miss or mess up that evening. It was disappointing to have our family members wait while the staff scrambled to pull other chairs into the room. From the time it took to take everyone's order from the set menu, the time between courses being served, and the attentiveness for pouring water and wine - all of it was a miss. The level of hospitality that we expected from a restaurant so recognized for its incredible food and approach to sustainable sourcing was completely overshadowed by the lack of attention and care by its staff - since day one of planning this event. Even a few of our family members commented on this during the dinner. At the end of the day, we felt like an obligation rather than welcomed guests, and that is mainly why I'm leaving this review. We had been patrons of Shipwright's a couple of times prior to this event, which is why we chose this establishment - to represent the best that Connecticut has to offer, when it comes to a dining experience we could vouch for. We no longer feel that we can recommend this restaurant. If you care about hospitality, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
