Shannon Demiter IBCLC began offering lactation services to mothers in the comfort of their home in 2017.

Meet the Business Owner: Shannon D.

After the birth of my 4th child I decided it was time for a career change and I returned to school at the University of California San Diego to pursue my credential as an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Prior to becoming a Private Practice Lactation Consultant I worked in the field of fashion merchandising. I chose to make this dramatic career change because I loved breastfeeding my own children but encountered challenges with each of them. I knew that my calling was to assist new mothers with overcoming the trials that breastfeeding can bring. I completed over 300 hours of outpatient care during my internship with two well respected IBCLCs in the greater Seattle area and then graduated from the UCSD lactation program in the spring of 2016. I provide in-home lactation consultation visits in and around Snohomish County. I also have the privilege of working at Seattle Breastfeeding Medicine, alongside Dr. Maryann O'hara.
