They do feature lots of specific Chinese dishes as well but rarely do you see someone eating these in the dinning area which almost always has room. They are organized and quick with the rare exception of big sushi orders coming in at once. And the pick three sushi rolls is a common and my go-to order. Eel avocado, fried sweet potato, and peanut avocado is my eclectic mix of choice (picture below). Dining companions who opt for the bowls often get a lid and take home leftovers (or they should). And hot tip - pay with cash and get a free fountain drink! It is located right in the middle of Court Street, the main drag for Athens. Parking isn't always available right in front at meters but the parking garage is a block away. They do quite a bit of delivery business as well.

The portion size is great, however a few of our bowls were completing missing ingredients we ordered. It was not as good as I remember, and I assume it's because my cheese was missed. I still love Ginger but it was not as good as remembered!

Athens is a college town and the restaurants on Court Street, the main drag through town where…read moreuniversity and town come together, primarily cater to those 18-22. It means there are burritos and pizza galore. And fast Asian. Mr. Hibachi is in that tradition and they are efficient in part by having a veritable army of folks working quickly to keep up with a brisk takeaway business. There are dining-in options but that isn't their primary focus. If you do want to eat in, there are 3 tables in the busy front section that can accommodate 4 or five folks. Then there is a string of high tops for 2 that run down the length of the skinny store. So we mostly do take-out drawing on both the straight forward sushi options or hibachi options. Lots of both with no big surprises. But portions are generous and prices reasonable. Favs in my family are the shrimp hibachi that you can substitute lo mien noodles for white or fried rice for a small mark up. I'm partial to the sashimi combo that won't be confused for high end fish but the slices are thick and the dish is filling and a good deal since it is under $20 and comes with miso and a generous fried rice portion. If you get a big order ie 2 bags instead of one for takeaway, be sure to check your order and make sure you have both bags. They have a lot of orders to fill so a couple of times I wasn't paying attention and left without one of the bags. In one case I did get a call quickly from the store asking me to come back and pick it up. A couple times there was a missing side (yum yum sauce for the hibachi) or side of fried rice. So as always, can't hurt to check to make sure everything is there. One final feature to point out. I really like the ability to order online for and choose a later time for pickup. This approach works well for bringing home dinner right after class or a workout. Given how busy they can get when the students are in town, this feature is often wise to use.

I also got the Spicy Girl roll and loved it. Plenty of tables to grab a seat, if you're looking to eat there. I'm kinda craving it now after writing this so I'll be going back soon for sure!

Mr Hibachi - Decent deal - 2 rolls plus a soup for $10.50. Cool spot to grab a quick and casual bite to eat.

Public Post About Authentic Cheesesteaks As someone…read moreoriginally from South Philadelphia, I just wanted to respectfully share something about cheesesteaks. A traditional Philly cheesesteak is not made with roast beef. Roast beef has a completely different texture, seasoning, and flavor profile. While it may seem similar, it's not the same thing. An authentic cheesesteak is made with: * Thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved steak / minute steak as an acceptable substitute) * Cooked on a flat-top grill * Lightly seasoned (usually just salt and pepper) * Chopped and folded together while cooking * Served on a fresh hoagie roll (Amoroso-style if you want to be authentic) * Topped with either Cheez Whiz, American cheese, or Provolone * Optional additions: sautéed onions (this is traditional), sometimes mushrooms or peppers depending on preference The key element is fresh shaved steak cooked to order, not deli-style roast beef placed on bread. There's nothing wrong with roast beef sandwiches -- they're great in their own right -- but calling it a cheesesteak changes the standard of what people expect, especially for those of us from Philadelphia where this sandwich originated. I'm sharing this respectfully in hopes that local spots consider offering a true steak version. There's a big difference in quality and authenticity, and people would absolutely appreciate it.
