I'm only as perturbed as I am under the illusion that finding a place that was once owned by Johnny Depp means I'm now married to him. Okay, so this particular Viper Rooms wasn't owned by Johnny Depp but it shares the same name. That is close enough for me. Now will it live up to expectations? Well actually yes it does. It's housed in a Grade II listed building and inside they've spared little expense. We're talking four bars surrounded by multiple rooms and a mad mix up of music as well. You'll get anything from disco to Hip Hop. It is beautiful, it really is. A special mention goes out the centre piece chandelier and quite awesome (not to mention comfortable) leather sofas throughout. To get you in the mood and your disco shoes raring the drinks menu will blow you away. It beats some clubs I've been to with a huge selection of cocktails, wines, fizz and beer. This is grade A stuff. It may be a little mainstream for some people's tastes but just go with the flow and enjoy the venue if nothing else.

As with all the taps, they have a fantastic mix of UK breweries and American craft, Belgian and European brews - plus a bottle menu with beers ranging from a few quid to some very special ones (hello Hopping Frog at £18 and unfortunately not in my price range!) I had an amazing Tiny Rebel/Dark Star collaboration with my wife enjoying a Belgian fruit beer - we were both very very happy with our choices! The actual venue is pretty cool and just the sort of place you want to hangout in, with a clientele of all ages into good quality hoppy stuff! Special mention has to go to the amazing pork pies on sale - £2.50 a pop and from the excellent Elite meats. Mine was amazing and made even better by having 'Sierra Nevada Mustard' served with it - mega yum! Basically Harrogate Tap is a great excuse to miss the train - make sure you check it out if you're into beer, you won't regret it!

Now this is grand to the extreme. This mother is one stylish player with decadent furnishings and a sophisticated feel. What's more you get tables that light up, built in ice buckets and a real baby grand piano. To make me even giddier, they do fizz by the glass. Is this place for real? You don't even have to move because a delightful hostess will see to your every need (within reason). The drinks list is awesome too. If money is no object then go for a deluxe Champagne. Or try one of the zillion or so cocktails that will blow you away. If you want aged rums, no problem. Plus, you'll find some of the finest cognacs. James Bond wouldn't look out of place here. The food isn't bad either but I'm singing this little babies praises for some serious drinking action. Make sure the credit card isn't maxed out though; you'll need every penny you can muster. There's live music every night of the week and during the day, a relaxed chilled out atmosphere to enjoy some grub and a cuppa or even sample some of the fine lagers on offer via both tap and bottle. Some of the very best local bands feature on the latest listings, while the likes of Jools Holland and Van Morrison have graced the place in its long history in music. But if you follow the stairs up to this cafe/ bar, it transforms into a retro-feeling, huge bar. With old fashioned sofas, 70's lamps and pacman arcade games galore, it really has a cosy feeling in such a big venue. Great for groups, but cuddled up on a sofa, my boyfriend and I felt snug as a bug playing dominos and connect four. Although I lost both games, it couldn't stop me from loving this place. To try really hard to find any faults, I just wished it had a wider selection of ciders- then it would be perfection! We unfortunately didn't have time to sample their pizzas, but they also looked (and smelled) amazing. A definite must if you're visiting Harrogate!
