Most of their cleansing and skin cream products are hand-made or mixed, and they have a special focus on giving to charity, in fact proceeds are generated with almost every purchase. They also have a very fragrant selection of fizzy bath balls that look good enough to be eaten in the company of a chocolate fondue, though I wouldn't try this at home. Some products are new takes on the tried and trusted: I found something called a 'shampoo bar' there. Ingredients for everything apparently come from renewable resources too, so for some this could be a good example for guilt-free shopping. The staff members are capable, enthusiastic and friendly. Chaps: this is a brilliant place to get something for the Mrs.

What is great as well is that some sets come pre-gift wrapt, Which relates to their slogan never too busy to be beautiful. Genius. I really like their shampoo bars - they last for AGES & the squeaky green bar in particular is an aromatherapy one that cleans your hair in the greenest possible way - great if you like to do something for the environment - and it seriously leaves your hair so soft & clean feeling - noticably different to using brand shampoos. She acknowledges, but just keeps going on about how to apply it. By this time I'm breaking into a cold sweat and my mind is yelling JUST GIVE IT TO ME or I'm going to have to hang around another half hour!! Here you can find solid conditioners, shaped like bars and recently I've been using "Big" which smells simply like heavens and roses and angels. It has a new formula that is firmer than the older one, and also firmer than the old Jungle, so it lasts longer. It contains extra virgin coconut oil, and you ladies know that this is a key product for keeping a thick and healthy mermaid hair. I recommend this product to all my clients having issues with thin and damaged hair. Rather than that, the bath bomb "Big Blue" is another of the mermaid goodies that colours the water like a blue fairy lake and smells amazingggg. It has a scent of lemon, seaweed and something else that makes me so obsessed about it. You can also check the bath melt "You've Been Mangoed" which also smells incredible. The facial moisturisers and masks are also fine, but it really depends on your skin type, so you should better ask the staff or can message me if you are interested in a special product.

The Liverpool Street Station branch of The Body Shop is smallish but well stocked with all of the usual bath, body and makeup suspects and a mixed bag of staff. Some I encountered last time I visited were overly friendly, some downright scary. Take the girl who rung my purchases in who was practically barking at customers about special gift deals while serving me. Inoffensive enough until I shirked the offer of an ugly Body Shop branded gift box: "£3 but 10% goes to charity". I'm sorry WHAT? £2.70 for an unremarkable cardboard box which propagates the shop's brand and doesn't even have a USP like being made by monks at dawn or anything?! The shop assistant was so unimpressed by me she looked as if she would have thrown a Naomi Campbell should a phone have been to hand. Slightly strange staff and inordinately expensive cardboard boxes aside, The Body Shop Liverpool Street is handy. Just pop upstairs to Paperchase for packaging, there's no time during this season for altercations with an affable bath and body shop's scary staff.

Neal's Yard is a cute place, and there's indeed a court yard. The service was prompt and friendly, and they have a large selection of organic made skin care products (from massage oil, shower gel to moisturizer). Encouraged by my friend who's a big fan of this place, I bought a bottle of massage oil and a tube of moisturizer. To my surprise, they actually work pretty well. They smell natural and gentle, don't feel too greasy, and they keep my skin moisturized against London's (shockingly) dry weather. And they are actually quite affordable, comparing to other big brand skin care product. If you are shopping in the Covent Garden area, go check it out. Chances are you can find something for yourself or your beloved ones. There is also an organic cafe just right next door to it in the same court yard.
