Raisel here at Sobe rentals is the best! We walked in around 10:30am (no reservation), just looking to see if there were any scooters to rent. Raisel was inside ready to offer us a scooter to go. Filled out all the necessary paperwork, ($200) deposit, and payment. If you need copies, just ask he will give everything to you. Also make sure to take his card, as we contacted him a few times and if he didn't answer, text worked great. We informed him that although we were renting for full day, we needed to be back earlier about 3pm to head to the airport. He kindly showed us where the scooter was parked in the garage, and gave us the code to enter so that when we do come back, if he was not around we could drop off the scooter without waiting for him. Also, when we left Raisel assured me the deposit processes same day after drop-off. The next day, I still didn't receive a refund notification so I texted him. He responded immediately and looked into it; made sure the deposit went back to me with receipt. Communication is great! The scooter itself was a bit banged up, so always remember as they takes their pictures of dents/dings, you do the same. The gas tank was just before full, he advised to come back with it the same but it only needs $2 to fill up. We went everywhere up and down south beach to downtown Miami. It was so much fun exploring on our own without restriction or worrying about paying for multiple ride-shares. Just make sure you always cover yourself when going to any rental (especially family businesses like this) - asking to see the scooter before you sign anything is perfectly fine so you know what you're purchasing. Ruined our Valentine's Day. Rented a scooter from him, did the paperwork but when I got a scooter I found out that it's horn was not working. Since, he didn't have any other scooter (and he had been nice to us), I thought of driving it without horn in Miami. However, after riding it for a block I realized that it was too risky to drive that scooter and bought it back. Since, he didn't have any replacement scooter, he apologized and offered me a refund. However, REFUND never arrived. I called him up asking for a refund, he acknowledged that scooter was faulty, but didn't want to refund the money. Don't fall for his glib language, always have things in writing, and remember that he will not be there to help if things go wrong with the scooter rental. read more

Make sure you inspect your scooter before renting from this business and take pictures to document it. We were charged 50$ for a scratch that was "fresh" when we returned our scooter. It is very unlikely that this scratch occured when the scooter was in our possession since we took very good care of it. We had no proof to contest the charge unfortunately. Worst scooter rental experience ever. I've been coming here for 3 years with no problem. I've been extremely loyal to Raisel for art basel. This year I came with my girlfriend and met with Raisel for a scooter. He told me he'd rent it to me for $300 if I paid in cash and put down a deposit of $200. I said no problem. I rode off on the scooter and after 10 minutes realized he'd given us a one seater. I called him to tell him that he'd given us a one seater and if we could switch. He obliged and said that he'd have a 2 seater for me in a day. I came back the next day to swap out and what a mistake I made. From the start the scooter would not start often. I ended up learning how to kickstart it. Upon returning it I learned that his employee knew that the battery was weak and needed to be replaced. I then had a major crisis when I couldn't open the seat to fill up gas. I headed straight for sobe to see if they could help me with the problem on an empty tank. Raisel then pulls out an Allen wrench and uses it to go under the seat to hit the latch which he explains gets locked from time to time (imagine a trunk on a car occasionally working). He then hands me the Allen wrench and tells me that once I do it once it'll get easier. In 9 days I spent atleast 2 hours total messing with that latch. I was riding the moped home one night when I hit a speed bump and the light to the right signal flew off. When I turned back around and grabbed the cover I realized that where it screws into fixture had already had previous damage. I examined the left light cover and realized that if the part had been intact the left one would have fallen as well. I suspect that their game is reattaching faulty parts onto their bikes just so that it falls off on their clients dime. When I returned the bike I told him about the light cover and he then acted out and said that he'd have to keep my deposit. $200 for a light cover! I doubt the moped was even worth $200. I've been extremely loyal to a fault and now realize that if I want a reliable vehicle and reliable service I should never come back to sobe. My review had been 5 stars for 3 years but I realize now that they are renting out inferior equipment and cheating customers out of their deposit. You've been warned. read more

CROOKS!!!! My husband rented a scooter for a couple hours, and once he returned the scooter RAISEL tried to blame my husband for existing damage. He took the $200 deposit and wanted to charge him extra for the damage. Cops were involved, but did not solve anything. We paid the fee to avoid any more problems, so they took $350 total from us for damage that was not our fault. They are crooks and just want to take your money. I went with 4 other family members. Raisel was very nice and accommodating as well as flexible with our return time. The scooters were in very good shape and Raisel gave us a good review of using the them. One of the scooters did not start up with the battery after we had started our ride, this happened on the three wheeler, but Raisel returned our call within a few minutes and explained how to crank it up manually. the most poorly run rental business in miami. we rented a scooter because of the good reviews on yelp, but what we were given was an old, beat up piece of junk with a broken gas gauge, broken horn, broken body, broken steering column lock. the gas gauge read 1/2 full when we received it from the rental guy but ran out of gas 20 min into riding the scooter!!! the employee of sobe rentals was rude, very unhelpful, condescending and threatened to charge us for picking up the scooter outside of the coverage area-- which he never told us about to begin with. this operation is unbelievably unprofessional. do not rent from them! read more

Horrible experience rented scoter which was stolen and recovered 2 days ltr and charged me $1,050 for damages like I stole it. Was told by police they could go to court & ask for restitution but easier to take off my debit card which you have to give them. If you go to Miami and is looking to rent a scooter, you must go here! The small shop is owned by a cute Italian couple. They were very friendly and personable. The shop was also nicely furnished. As far as the rates go, they are pretty much the same all around Miami Beach (we already checked beforehand) but what you get is great customer service. We rented the scooter for 24 hours at $69..totally worth it. We drove from Miami beach to Downtown Miami to Key Biscayne and it was such a great experience. It was also very convenient to have the scooter with us throughout the day as we made a bunch of stops, anywhere from different restaurants to relaxing at the beach-the scooter got us around, not to mention due to heavy traffic, we were able to cut through a lot of it and get through a whole day full of activities. When we return to Miami, which we most likely will very soon, we will definitely returning to Sobe Rental. read more
