    "Old fashioned" lol

This place is really good. Their burgers and appetizers are amazing and the vibe is really chill. I like that they have touch tunes and a slot machine too. The server was very nice as well and very attentive. Only two minor things that were unfavorable about this establishment in my opinion; 1. They don't know how to make an ol fashioned (but it's a pub so understandable) 2. The parking lot is on a really steep hill and pretty difficult to navigate, (this place is worth it though).

Four stars as the bartender was awesome. She took good care of me and checked on this first time visitor. I got the Crown Mary. Looks bigger in the picture on their website. But it was a great bloody and the cheeseburger slider was on point. Nice little lunch on a rainy day. Other staff including the person at the entrance didn't make eye contact and seemed disinterested. Maybe she was just shy. Anyway you must go so you can say you did.

A Milwaukee staple! If you're visiting, I highly recommend! As a local there are other spots not as swarmed to grab a burger or a bloody. If you are looking for a crazy loaded bloody, look no further! As stated, can be very busy during peak hours, but a good stop in a weekday for lunch. Small spot, but the do have cute barrel tables outside for more space!

On the last day in Milwaukee we were craving a good burger and Sobelman's came up as a place to check out, and it was a good choice. I got The Sobelman and that was a great burger. I can generally take or leave caramelized onions but with the jalapeño on the burger, they worked perfectly; the onions were well cooked to add a nice sweetness to counteract the spiciness of the jalapeño on the burger. My partner got the Double sans cheese, and agreed that it was a fantastic burger--actually too big a burger, so he'd downsize to the "regular" Sobelman burger next time. We got some of the Bacon Cheese Cracks, which were just ok. Maybe they would have been better having them in house rather than as part of a takeaway order, but they weren't as cheesy as I'd expected and there was a lot more of a breading-type thing involved. The pickle fries were yummy though! Next time I might try the macaroni bites or the jalapeño cheese balls instead of the bacon cheese things. The place was hopping when we picked up from here, though they had some outside seating available. They have a small parking lot but also some street side parking. It was also quite loud inside this place--if you don't like a really loud restaurant where you have to raise your voice to be heard, you may want to just pick up to go. I'd return to Sobelman's if there wasn't another place in Milwaukee I was eager to try--as long as it was warm enough for outdoor seating to keep the noise to a minimum.

Food was awesome. Did have a wide selection to pick from a 2 page menu Service was great since I patronized at opening on a Tuesday Parking is awful in my opinion. Lot parking is "up a hill" angle parking. So it will most likely be horrible parking during "the snow season ". Street parking on weekends will be better than during the week Didn't like the evening parking situation since this a industrial business area

Stopped at Sobelmans for a bloody! Bloody was good and perfectly spicy. Staff was very nice as well. Was hoping the drink came in a glass mug, however. Would recommend getting there early if going on a weekend. Parking in lot is limited and can be challenging to get out of so prepare to park on street.

Park in the Sobelman's parking lot. Just saying..... Seated immediately. It's a bar so my wife got her usual. I ordered a Bloody Mary. We gotta talk about a Sobelman's Bloody Mary menu. Up to a whole chicken condiment for Bloody Mary's. See menu. The place is a bar/grill. In a nice old house. Wife got a bleu cheese w/mushrooms over swiss burger. Phenomenal. Thumbs up. I got the pork tenderloin sandwich. The meat was smashed into a sheet. Too thin. Too much breading. Where's the meat? Just an observation. Dry. Thumbs down. Bacon wrapped jalapeno cheese curds. Phenomenal. Flavors with spice and cheesy bacon. We scarfed them. Service was great. Food was hot. Ambiance is "Where everybody knows your name."

This is a great dive bar with some of the best Bloody Mary "meals" you will find. Great selection. Also, you cannot go wrong with one of their burgers. It's a small place and it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. We waited about 15 min for a table for 5. They had great service and communicated well on our wait. They offer gluten free buns if you need.

Bloody Mary's are a meal in themselves. I had the Baconado and my husband had the Bourbonado. The Bourbonado was better than the bacon. Our server was great and whomever the person was standing outside, they were happy to greet people.

Met some friends for Bloody Mary's on a Saturday morning around 10:30AM. We were quickly seated without a reservation, but make sure to get there early, the place was full by 11AM! The room we were seated in did get quite loud with a large party seated next to us so plan accordingly. Everyone enjoyed their bloodies and our server was friendly. I opted for an NA Bloody Mary and lived that it came with a root beer chaser. Our server was friendly and gave us stickers and cookies upon leaving which was a nice touch!

Visited Sobelman's at 12pm in a Sunday. There was a full crowd and lots of revelry. If you had a late night the night before, the volume level is a little much! We we're promptly served and our server Diego was very helpful. We ordered a Bloody Mary, from their extensive Bloody Mary list and a breaded tenderloin with fries. The particular bloody that we had had bacon wrapped cheese curds and shrimp and my wife said was great My tenderloin was flat, which is fine, and probably a little overcooked, but it was still very tasty. It is an old building with a lot of character and we look forward to coming back again sometime.

I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.
