I find that Liquor Depot is quite overpriced, especially the craft and import beer. Additionally, the scotch selection at Chateau Louis is renowned! Too bad I don't like scotch, but I sure know people who do. Found a particular scotch that came highly recommended, present for a friend, and I had looked everywhere for it with no luck. I called up Chateau Louis Liquor Store, and they were able to answer right away that they had it. Well heck they not only had it, they had 4 different varieties of it! They also had many brands of scotch I had never seen before anywhere else. It's quick for me to get to Chateau Louis, so you bet I'll be back and I'll be a regular. Whoo-hoo!

It is located right by the Husky station in a tiny strip mall. There are a few parking stalls in front of it but other stalls in the parking lot. We stopped by on a Friday night approximately at 9:45. There was one customer inside and the store isn't as large as the other chain stores but there was lots of variety. Three of us walked in and each one of us was greeted by a friendly guy behind counter. The products were neatly displayed in sections and very easy to look around. We were able to take our time and check out the stock. We noticed a nice selection and not just the more popular bottles. The prices were cheaper than competitors and we picked up an extra two bottles that we weren't planning. I would recommend this store, the location is convenient, easy to shop and great prices.

They host wine tasting events throughout the month including free ones. The ones I've been to have been pretty good and reasonably priced. Usually you sample 7-8 wines and they provide very light snacks to go with it (cheese, bread, and deli meat). Sometimes they have pricier events in which I believe you get decent appies. Depending on the person pouring your wine you can get very lucky or unlucky with the amount you receive.
