They encourage this when the child says that the parent doesn't understand them, do as they desire or anything else. They also encourage to contact them vs a parent when something happens, goes wrong, or what the child struggles with. This is total separation of the parent/child relationship, not guidance! Beware!!! It's more like brainwashing than anything.
