I was assisted by a young man named Gio and he was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. He made the whole experience of applying for social security a breeze. Gio was personable pleasant and he could answer all of my questions which by today's standards that usually doesn't happen. He told me how he helped his mom with the process what a lucky woman she is indeed I can't thank him enough I give him 10 stars not 5. Believe it or not, this SSA location really does deserve 5 stars! People typically moan and groan when they need to visit SSA but this location makes your visit a lot less painful. I made an appointment online to begin the process of fixing a typo on my card and showed up right before they opened on a weekday morning. Security opened the door, I checked in on my phone (after several email and text reminders about my appointment), grabbed a mask (they're still required here), and was called to a window immediately. 10 minutes and I was in and out. The employee (didn't catch his name) was extremely helpful and fast! Answered all my questions and took care of my issue. He even printed out a confirmation of what he did on his end to confirm, everything was now correct. Great experience all around! read more

Workers hate their jobs and are just rude. The lady told me I need to go to a different social security office because my address has a different town on it. Well I just moved to lindenhurst and she insisted that the next time I need social security services I need to go Freeport. Very nasty. read more

I came here dreading this trip. I thought I was going to wait forever and I was expecting the clerks to be nasty and unhelpful. I had to change my last name from my maiden name to my married name. It was actually incredibly easy and breezy! I didn't have a long wait at all, the clerk was very friendly, I was in and out fairly quickly and two weeks later I got my new social security card with my new last name as promised! Had to go here to change my name and get a new card. The staff was quick, friendly and efficient! Online it says they open at 9, but i was there by 830 and they let me in early. I was in and out within 15 minutes. They said i would receive my new card in 2 weeks, i received in in 6 days! It's best to go there with the paperwork you need already filled out. I was there yesterday , arrived just 8 min's to closing time due to (unusually at that hour) hitting alot of traffic. kinda felt guilty as I was sure they both needed & rightfully wanted to get home to dinner or family. They were as always extremely courteous to me & accomodating. I explained I needed print out of the monthly benefit as we are going for (another) "Home Loan modification" In talking to the staff , feeling quite overwhelmed & bewildered with our future as my husband was diagnosed last June just three wk's after his 59th birthday with Frontal Temporal Lobe Dementia -AKA -(Early Onset Dementia) All of a sudden , I started crying , the guard there jumped up & handed me a tissue & gave me a heartfelt pep talk right there in the waiting area ., it was just he, & myself now as I had just finished with the girl at the window.... & here this man (who is ALWAYS) very friendly, helpful & accommodating to ALL (as my main office is Melville) but because of the friendly (& much friendlier staff at Lindenhurst, I choose to go there whenever possible) - here was the guard NOT rushing me off (I am sure, it now had to be 4:05 or later.. he was trying to build me up & remind me how strong I really was... & encouraged me... OMG , I (always) liked his friendly ways with ALL black,white,chinese, "POLKA DOT" -I am SURE!!! if there really was such a thing... fat,skinny,short, tall.. doesn't matter , he always shows compassion & respect to ALL . I HAVE witnessed it for yr's now. Well unfortunately, I forget his name... but to me he IS "Mr.Wonderful"... he made the most impact ever yesterday afternoon .... I wiped those tears off , held my head up , crossed over the street to buy my fake nails & crazy glue to glue them (as I looked half crazed with only 3-4 nails per hand) as I hastily ran out of the house... as i glued them (now in the comfort & privacy of my car) I then walked into Aldi's - & ALL ALONG hearing "Mr.Wondetful's" words I am STRONG!,,... well let's just say, I then was almost "prancing" as I walkedi to Aldi's the song "I am Woman" by Helen Reddy? I believe,... echoing in my head "I am woman here me ROAR",... LOL Thank You so very much for making me smile Mr.Wonderful!!!!! NOT that this matters, but in the SAD day & age where "race" often is still a difficult subject to some? (NOT me & my kids though),...... I am a white woman & Mr.Wonderful ,?,... is a very kind hearted genuiene black man. I just felt compelled to add that. Goid yhi gs NEED to be heard on BOTH sides... I had a 10am appointment today 2/04/19 came in at 9:40am and was called into the office promptly by Field Officer Mrs. Kelly. At the start of the interview process the employee was curt, abrasive, argumentative and extremely rude as well as unprofessional. She refused to start an application for children benefits, would not review and was dismissive of the supporting documentation presented. Inferring that a court order pertaining to child custody was not valid as it was issued in 2009. Along with making several references that were outrageous and insulting. I requested a supervisor and she returned with Mrs Shapiro, who also questioned the validity of a legal court order issued in Suffolk County in the Family Court in 2009. I have every intention to report this unfortunate experience to the Social Security Administration. This incident should be investigated and these two unprofessional employees should be ashamed of their profound ignorance and behavior. A Court Order is issued and remains in effect as ordered unless changed by the court. They do not have a renewal or expiration date......... and my claim was not initiated as Mrs Kelly based on her experience, refused to start it.............Mr John Franco read more
