We parked in the short term parking garage since the first 60 minutes is free. The elevator on the red side of the parking garage takes you straight down to baggage claim. It was a short walk after exiting the elevator. It was very convenient. It was great because they called us in right away even though we were super early for the appointment. The two ladies fingerprinted and registered us at the same time. I think it only took about 10 minutes. Such great service! I recommend this location to anyone who needs to enroll for TSA Precheck.

I decided to make an appointment and last minute my husband decided to take his chances and go with me abd see if he could get in. My appointment was at 9:00 and we arrived super early at 8:20. I was taken right in and we were both done by 8:40. Very effificient pricess. All you need is your passport and credit card. Cost is $85 for 5 years. You can check your approval status on line within a week of enrollment. For anyone who has had the pleasure of getting choaen randomly when flying you know how wonderful it is to get the expedited line and keep your shoes, belt and jacket on and not have to take your computer out of your bag. It is a breeze. I fly a lot so this is money well spent and I can stay fully clothed at all airport security check points. Highly recommend for anyone who flies more than a few times a year as the cost is minimal compared to the hassle of not having it and Tampa International airport makes it easy. Located right next to red baggage claim carousel 13 and Alaskan Airlines. Park in red area of short term parking garage and take elevator to 1st level and you have arrived at your destination. Hope to see lots of Yelpers in the precheck line.

Most of my trips have been for work, delivering engagements for customers or spending time at my employer's big office, but even with a full schedule the city has a way of giving you little pockets of calm. Tampa rewards you for paying attention, whether it's the way the light hits the water in the late afternoon or the easy rhythm of people moving along the riverwalk, and when the day wraps up there's something grounding about heading over to Armature Works to meet friends for a drink, that big open hall buzzing with people who look like they've also decided to squeeze a little joy out of the weekday. What keeps pulling me back is the sense of history woven into everyday life. The Cuban influence isn't just a footnote, it's part of the city's heartbeat, and you feel it in the food, the architecture, and the stories that linger in places like Ybor. There really isn't a better place in the country to get a Cubano unless you're in Miami, and even then Tampa makes a strong case. I'm not a cigar smoker, but if you are, this is one of the best places you could possibly be, with shops that treat the craft like a living tradition rather than a novelty. And honestly, even if you have nowhere in particular to go, riding the free trolley is its own kind of fun, a little rolling reminder that cities can still surprise you with something simple and delightful. And then there's the water, always close by, shaping the city's mood. Beaches, sunsets, the riverwalk, the art museum, all of it framed by a skyline that feels modern without losing its sense of place. Tampa International Airport might be one of the easiest, most thoughtfully designed airports in the country, which sets the tone for the whole visit. Every time I'm here, even when it's just a quick work trip, I find myself carving out a moment to appreciate how livable and inviting this city is, how it keeps surprising me in small, steady ways, and how it always seems to offer just a little more than I expected. It was a nice touch to have a person assist you after going through security. She walked me to the computer kiosk and assisted. There are 30 or so service windows divided by category. My number was called but they then asked me to go back to the kiosk for a different category. The woman at window four seemed 'bothered' to find solutions in helping me. A very rude coworker stood behind her meddling in my business while working on something shaking her head no and mumbling "no." They are there to serve the public and find solutions since they are trained and the public is not familiar with the processes and options. The woman said I needed to hire an attorney to get the records. No, not an option. I am not paying to get records I can get myself. They were not helpful and unwilling to do their job. I went back to the kiosk a third time and went back to a different rep in the first category, records. I was called immediately. The man at window 29 was SO HELPFUL. He asked questions and even asked a manager for guidance. He filled out papers for a record search and said the archives would work on it and I would be contacted. I received a call within a couple of hours. She had questions and was researching. Received two more calls from the nice lady as she was broadening her search. She called me a fourth time and found the records. I thanked her profusely on the phone. She replied, "it is my job to serve our customers." That is a public servant. This woman and the nice man are what is right with the staff on the ground floor, Room 101. Tax dollars well spent. Heading in today to pick up my papers, WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY ON AN ATTORNEY.

In full disclosure, I do not work for the Tampa Police Department, but our paths cross regularly through my specialized training and work with the City of Tampa's Office of Emergency Management. I had to run down to TPD headquarters this past week to drop off some paperwork and update my records. Since I was not a guest of the City I am unable to pass judgment on the comfort of the mattresses in lockup, or the quality of the meals that they serve their overnight guests. We'll have to wait for someone else to write a review about the City's drunk tank. Sorry Kelleigh! Police Chief Castor and her team are incredibly respectful to both the residents and the guests of the City of Tampa, and as evidenced last year during the Republican National Convention those basic acts of kindness go a long ways towards protecting the reputation of the City. It's always sad to walk up to the front door and view the memorial to the fallen officers, but I always walk out the door feeling good about the people who protect and serve the place that I live.
