I just completed a process with SSA agent Mrs. McGee very pleasant informative and helpful

Fast forward a few years, and I'm having to deal with SSA on Garden Street again. After initial contact with one very nice, professional lady, I have spoken twice by phone with a very rude, condescending man who yelled at and hung up on me both times. I then had to go back to the Garden Street office over my retirement income being sent to a wrong bank account -- no appointment required, I was told -- and when the agent said he couldn't tell what was going on and I tried to explain, he cut me off because I didn't have an appointment. So the bottom line, with this SSA office, is that, with the exception of one person, NOBODY CARES, so work through the 800 number as much as you can and avoid that office. And hope the DOGE boys eliminate those useless people from the government. read more

Waited 30 minutes she hung up on me started process agin this time 120 minute wait time , last time spent almost 2 1/2 hrs then they closed . Our office sucks and we spent a lifetime working for this crappy service And small checks. read more

Everyone that answers the phone is rude and belligerent. I've even had them hang up on me multiple times.

I waited on the phone with Pensacolas local field office for 1.5 hr. She didn't want to take the time to look at my current application, just simply denied again and that I would have to file with someone in person or by phone. When I politely asked a second question she repeated herself in the middle of my question and then proceeded to hang up on me. So rude and didn't care what my question was. Oh by the way, I had her on the phone for less than 5 minutes. They should be ashamed of the way they treat those that need help. read more

Mr Bricker was rude and asked asked to schedule an appointmen, he said no he can't do that. I told him when I dropped off form and he said they didn't receive it. I told him I faxed it and he wouldn't check. he keep speaking over me and I asked to speak to his supervisor and he refused to let me speak to his and then hung up on me. read more

my name is Eric Hendley I got approved for my benefits and Pensacola fl field office agents are the rudest disrespectful branch in field office history very unprofessional service I have been approved for benefits and they still ain't sent me my award letter of benefits nor have processed any thing to start with me getting my benefits I am homeless once again due to people not doing they job I asked to speak to a district manager they lie saying they don't have any well look like I will be filing a lawsuit against them cause now I will be pushing for someone to lose they job cause I have contacted my disability attorneys to deal with them I will be contacting the Florida district over there region cause this don't make sense for people to be that dam rude my taxpayer dollars pay for ignorant ass people like this the most disrespectful ass people ever read more

This place is a mess, I can't say I'm surprised. I just waited over 2 and half hours for something that took 5 minutes to complete. I was bounced around once my number was finally called, and had to wait for one specific individual to be available in order to complete what I needed. I showed up at 0845 on a Tuesday for a name change. We were about 15th in line. Once the office opened, the security guard came out and had the social security card/benefit letter people in one line and everyone else in another. We were out of the office by 0910. Masks were required and parking was good. read more

I was on the phone trying to give my son, who is disabled, his account information to SS so he can get his disability. I was told IN PERSON this morning that I could give the information over the phone. When answered, the lady was rude, asked for the social and I asked her if she needs mine or my son's. Her response "I asked for you sons" in a rude manner. I told her what I needed to do, she proceeded to tell no and that she can't do it. And I said okay thank you, and she laughs and hangs up? How hard is it to be nice. If you work at a job that involves disabled, elderly people, etc that need help, you need to have some sort of empathy and actually be kind. Don't work somewhere if you're going to be rude and miserable the entire time and ruin someone else's day. read more

I believe the local social security office is using COVID to take an extended vacation. I agree with the other reviewers about speaking with an employee who acts as though we are bothering them. I have called and left 4 voicemails for someone to return my call over the past week. I am still waiting for that return phone call. Apparently they don't realize that people's lives are impacted by what they do or fail to do. Perhaps there is a reasonable explanation, but it certainly feels like no one cares. read more

Wow! 15 minute total time to get a new Social Security card in the middle of the day? What next? That same at the DMV?!?!?! Greeted by technology and security person who was helpful when the system was quite working as expected (but, they did fix it within 5 minutes). Waiting room was 75% filled, but I was called back after 10 minutes so they are triaging type of services and not just putting you in a queue in the herd. Once back at the desk, I was greeted by a person that was extremely professional, efficient and pleasant. Oh yeah, and dressed like a cat because it was Halloween. I am often amazed how much a little respect goes in our relationships with each other even though it is not popular these days. Great experience all the way around! read more

Whoops, this review is for the SS office in Fairhope Alabama. Arrived a few minutes before open, 9 folks ahead of me. The guard (female, if that matters) was pleasant and stated clearly that weapons are not allowed inside. Hello, this is a federal facility. The lady who helped me with a simple form to change my part B insurance was perfectly pleasant and responded to my joking manner in a friendly tone Done in 10 minutes total from open to in the truck. The Social Security Administration is the most incompetent government agency I've ever seen. Pretty sure they get a bonus for every person they turn away. They don't even go by their own literature, they just make stuff up. read more

Every employee I came into contact with at the SSA office in Pensacola was professional, courteous, and helpful and I was there at the end of the day, so I know they were all tired and ready to go home! Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction and you can't make an appointment at Social Security unless it's HIGH PRIORITY. But who determines priority? SOCIAL SECURITY and you can't make this stuff up. I've been calling every day for weeks and sometimes twice a day but it's always the same result. I'm always put on hold for HOURS and never able to get through but I can't use my DirectExpress card. Why? Because my DirectExpress account was abruptly closed. Why? Because SS told DirectExpress that I was DEAD and I'm not dead but all of my funds have been debited back to SS. I kid you not. So now I'm out of money but I can't talk to anybody at SS and I can't take a number or make an appointment because nobody at SS will answer to phone. Right now it's 3:17CST and I've been on hold since 1:00 but I know my call will get dropped at 4:00 sharp. That's when the SS office closes and they're very efficient when its time to go home but they're falling short when it comes time to serving people when they need assistance. What should I do?
