They do an excellent job year-round, and their snow removal in the winter is always fast and reliable--we never have to worry about being able to access our property. Recently, George and Kyle came out to help clean up the area around our building, including a wooded section in the back that was completely overgrown with poison ivy, weeds, and thorny brush. Not only did they thoroughly remove and treat all of it, but they did so with professionalism and care. What really stood out was their willingness to go the extra mile. I mentioned that my water hose had been stuck and leaking for months--something several others had tried and failed to fix. George and Kyle took the time to help, and they were able to loosen it for me without hesitation--and with smiles the whole time. He angrily told me he doesn't need a license because he only puts down granular, which in NJ is true if it is ONLY fertilizer with no other chemicals. On their website they advertise pre-emergent and grub control...both are listed as pesticides EVEN in granular form. After explaining that I would prefer a licensed company to do my fertilizing, he went off the handle and told me that he didn't need/want my business, he only gave an estimate because he was trying to expand into my neighborhood because it is higher end homes. Steer clear of this guy. Putting chemicals down with no license is a HUGE red flag and I wonder what other unscrupulous business practices he has up his sleeve. *edit* After speaking with a few old neighbors who have used Tony and his crews in the past I learned that more than half his staff are paid under the table which means they are not insured if they get hurt while working on your property. He said they had a spat of recent storms that caught him up - which is completely reasonable - and that he'd head there on Saturday. Saturday EOD comes and I don't hear back. My husband reaches out to say hey, if you're just too busy please just let us know because we have a timeline we just have to work within. He calls back and says I didn't make it today, I'll go tomorrow (Sunday). Sunday comes and he sends us a text message at 7 am (we're on PST, which he knows) asking for the address, which I provided the previous three times I spoke to him. We didn't get the message until 11:30 am when we first went to our phones for the day. We text back the address and he says "I'll pass. I was up there earlier today", like I missed the chance to work with him. But I provided the address three times. He missed his own timing estimate three times. But I'm the one who catches his attitude? I'm pretty shocked at this. It seems others have had better experiences but this certainly wasn't a good one.

The owner regards him as one of his best guys. Yikes. I really miss ATA Landscaping after using them for 2 years due to a torn meniscus. I miss them scalping my lawn so I could correct it with Green Lawnger turf paint. I miss them over-trimming the driveway from a 2-inch trench to a 6-inch trench. I miss the Hooterville Fence Installers. The billion dollar white vinyl fence was mis-measured and the added $500 piece is falling apart. The geniuses then installed the Gate over an obvious sprinkler head. Paid $95 to relocate it. I miss their fertilizer guy who rammed into the gas meter, broke it, then left. The Plan of Correction? Don't fertilize the backyard anymore for the same price. I miss him splattering fertilizer on my painted white foundation and white fence that I would have to correct with two coats of Kilz 2 White Primer. Be Forewarned: If you complain about the fertilizer guy, he will muck up your property beyond recognition twice as much the next time out. That's when I finally canceled ATA. I miss squandering $6,400 over 2 years that fueled my complaints to a company whose motto is "The Customer's Always Wrong". Good riddance to the Wrecking Crew. Then they installed the fence and there were huge gaps under the vinyl portion that they said had to be there for when the gated opened. They didn't offer to fill in the gaps or anything, left it to us. So, our chihuahua gets out of our yard on a monthly basis basically because she just digs right under the fence. Then we have a big shepherd and he started getting out because they didn't do the standard for dog fencing, which is a solid metal bar, like the one on top, as the bottom. This means the dogs cannot push the flexible chainlink up and get out. We mentioned this multiple times. Finally after our dog got out again and was almost lost to us, we got them to come back out to fix it. They charged us a couple thousand to run a flexible wire through the bottom of the chainlink. It's flexible! It doesn't do a darn thing and we had to pay thousands for their guys' time in doing the useless work. They have refused to correct their mistakes and our dogs keep getting out. It's dangerous and ridiculous that all they care about it getting their thousands and thousands of dollars and not about the original intention of the fence which again, we stated SO many time to them. We paid over $12k in total for our fence and it's useless.
