Visiting a landmark in L'll-Bouchard, France…read more.. We watched a movie in English in the Information Building across the street from Saint-Gilles Church. Thank you to the kind Sister who set up the CD player. The speaker was Jacqueline Aubrey, the recipient of the miracle! We learned: Ten apparitions occurred between December 8 to 14, 1947 in the town of L'll-Bouchard, France. Mother Mary, Our Lady of Prayer, appeared to four little girls on the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception. She wore a white dress, held a rosary in her right hand, and had blue eyes and long blonde hair down to her knees. The angel, Gabriel, accompanied "the beautiful lady", kneeling and handing Mary three lilies and admiring Her. She told the children that she was, in fact, Our Heavenly Mother. There was a prayer in gold under Our Lady: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." Our Blessed Mother also asked the people to pray for France. The people asked for a miracle. The next day, Our Mother Mary healed the eyes of Jacqueline Aubry! Magnificat appeared in the same corner of the church the next day and asked the children to sing. She was very happy! Mary asked them to return the next day... Sunday. She stayed 35 minutes. The people again asked for a miracle. Mary told them that she didn't come to do miracles, but smiled and asked them to sing The Magnificat song. The children felt much happiness... a taste of heaven. A ray of sunlight appeared in that corner of the church where the sun cannot appear and became a fan of light rays. Believers give credit to these apparitions and the prayers of the children for the prevention of civil war in France. * * * * * * * Saint-Gilles Church was built in Romanesque Style in the 11th century. Besides this miracle, it's also known for Saint Joan of Arc's visit before she met with King Charles VII in 1429. We really enjoyed visiting this piece of history on a rainy day in May 2026! Free street parking and convenient restroom were much appreciated!
