I figured since it's been about two years since I was disappointed with the change in quality at this restaurant, I thought I would try it again, so I ordered it to be delivered. To my surprise, it was even worse than the last time I ordered from here. I ordered the Sogo spice roll. This is supposed to be comprised of spicy king crab in the middle, but it was clearly artificial crab not even prepared spicy style. The avocado in the roll was 90% brown. The other role I ordered was the unbelievable roll, the eel in the middle was very fishy, and if you eat sushi, you know what I mean by an abnormal type of fishy taste, and it was topped with spicy tuna that surprisingly had very little flavor. Came here for a nice little Sunday afternoon lunch. Found a parking spot fairly close. Nobody was in the restaurant and it seems like one guy was doing everything. It was a nice ambience with calm lighting. He took our order promptly. We have never been here before so we just tried chicken teriyaki chicken, lo mein and, fried rice and clear soup. Everything was very fresh and hot. We did not care for the chicken lo mein. The noodles were soggy the chicken fried rice was amazing. I definitely would definitely pick up a little bit of that chicken fried rice if I'm in the area. The chicken teriyaki was very good as well. I would definitely be back again for sure. read more

They go from two to three because of excellent and helpful service. The miso we had was cold and flavorless, and we made the mistake of ordering our gyoza steamed, which here is evidently not a thing - was almost inedible. The monkey roll was excellent though, as was my martini. Our other rolls were yeoman - certainly passable but not nearly enough to warrant any return visit or takeout. We sat outside and that was pretty nice -- decent people watching. We really haven't had any decent sushi in Easton (surprise) but haven't tried the top-rated one yet. read more

I have been going to Sogo with my friends for years and I always enjoy my experience. Sat outside this past weekend and ordered a spicy tuna roll with avocado and plain udon noodles. My boyfriend ordered the cucumber martini, and avocado roll and the dumpling soup. All in all it was good, however, I was not a big fan of the texture of my tuna in my roll. It tasted very good but the texture was more of a harder ground meat kind of texture. But other than that, still love going to Sogo. Also, always love seating outside, nice view of the circle and the happenings around town. read more

It's great to see restaurants like this still open during COVID time. I was able to eat inside the restaurant and was served by a polite and friendly waiter. Great place to just relax and enjoy some good sushi. The staff is very friendly and very quick with orders. I got the corner spot by the main entrance, I think it's the best table. Parking is tough since you're right on the corner of the square. Parking meters take credit or debit give yourself a good 3 hours if don't like rushing through dinner. The bathroom hmm well just one and it's just too close to the sushi bar. It's pretty unique when you walk into the bathroom. So I'm still giving them 5 stars. Their lunch specials are extremely affordable and will leave you feeling full to the brim; my go to being the teriyaki chicken plate. I used to eat here often when doing business in Easton but boy how much has changed in the last year. The owner hangs out doing nothing and always has a nasty face on and seems to always be screaming at her staff. I'm not sure if this is some kind of front but I swear it was dead as a doorknob while River Grille next door was wait listing for a table on a Friday afternoon. Came in on a weeknight around 6:00 PM- the entire restaurant was empty so we sat outside. The ambience is pretty nice on the patio, so this was perfect on a warm night. We ordered the volcano beef for an appetizer and we had to send it back as the meat was incredibly undercooked and inedible. Once it was cooked a bit more, the flavor was not the worst, but I would not recommend as there were only 3-4 pieces of meat. The spicy tuna roll was just an average sushi roll. For a main dish I ordered chicken teriyaki. The dish was pretty underwhelming as there was not much chicken on the plate and the plate was covered with vegetables rather than chicken. The teriyaki sauce is absolutely delicious though, and goes well with the side of white rice. In all honesty, Sogo is not a terrible restaurant, but the food is pretty average and expensive for the small portions given. read more

A good place for sushi. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, and several decorations looked interesting. I came for a quick afternoon meal, and there weren't any waiting time. I was seated very promptly, and the service was fast with my waitress being attentive. There isn't private parking, so street parking may be a hassle if the roads get busy. The menu had different varieties of japanese, thai, and chinese food. However, I do feel that the vast majority (70%) of their appetizers and entrées consist of chinese food, and 15% of japanese and 15% of thai food. Their japanese sushi were very creative. For my appetizer, I ordered the green seaweed salad, and it was delicious. My spicy girl sushi roll consist of 8 rolls with tuna, salmon, avocado, and tobiko (fish eggs). It tasted unique due to the sweet sauce with jalapeño peppers on top of my sushi. As for my entrée, the japanese sautéed udon with chicken was good. The stir-fried favor made the dish tasty, however, I do prefer the traditional udon noodle soup, but they didn't have it. Overall, my experience was great. The service was fast. Headed to Sogo this past Friday night for some dinner and was very impressed! I sat at the sushi bar with two friends because the place was packed and we had somewhere to be so we didn't want to wait for a table. The service was very friendly from both our waitress and the guys behind the sushi bar. We ordered crab rangoon as an appetizer, but that came after our first rolls were ready. Not a problem because they were very tasty and - I don't know if they always come with 6 here since this was my first time - but it was nice to be able to split them up evenly among us. I ordered the 2005 Roll which was freakin' phenomenal! Wrapped in rice paper, this roll contained tuna, salmon, crabmeat, and sweet tofu with crunch flakes. So fresh and so full of flavor! I also ordered the New York roll (fresh salmon and cucumber, avocado) which was also good, but a letdown after following that amazing 2005 roll. One of my friends ordered the Fire Mountain roll which was massive and insane - shrimp tempura roll with spicy scallop, shrimp topped with red tobiko wrapped with rice paper. He loved it. He'd also ordered the Crazy Monkey roll, shrimp tempura roll top with avocado, three different kind of spicy sauce, which looked amazing as the sushi chefs prepared this for other diners right in front of us. What a huge disappointment our first meal since it became Sogo. Recipe changes on some of our favorites(Jade Green and Sesame Tofu) were horrible. Veggie Spring Rolls were so greasy they were inedible. Every dish we ordered including the spring rolls tasted loaded with sugar. Really awful. Will not be returning. What a horrible replacement for Pebbles which was consistently one of our favorites in the Capital Region. Very sad. read more

I'm originally from the North NJ, NYC area. Finding the pretentious reviews from some here come as no surprise. It's one of many reasons for wanting to get the hell out of there! That being said anyone complaining about the price have either never been to the highway robbery trend joints in the city or had someone else foot the bill. The pricing in my opinion is cheap considering the quality and large portions you receive. I'm not a chef or sushi expert. Neither are 99.9% of the annoying "foodies" on here. God I hate that term as much as nails on a chalkboard. Get over yourselves. I've never been disappointed in regards to food or service. I'm a firm believer that some people go into a restaraunt with a chip on their shoulder & their noses pointed up way too high in the air. Bringing unrealistic expectations that if even met they'd still find something to piss about. The service here has always been more than friendly & astute. I don't know the older gentlemans name, I presuime he's the owner. But we typically have him and he's always nice and attentive towards us. On a side note, I like to collect pint glasses that catch my eye. When I inquired if I could purchase one he refused any payment. Took it back & had it washed & gave it to me for free. Again, I'm not a sushi-ghuru. But I've bern to the likes of Nobu & their ilk. And from my experience & that of a good friend whom is a Master Chef, none of them are worth their weight in gold. Which is what they expect you to pay them in. You want to talk about crap service in an overpriced, stuffy atmosphere where you are no more important than a fly on the wall then be my guest. The bottom line is the sushi is to par with the price. If you're broke, then don't eat out. If you're a restaurant snob, then go to the places where it'd be better and cheaper to charter your own boat, catch your own fish, & prepare it yourself. After spending the day at the crayola factory, nothing seemed to be opened past 6 around this area. Fortunately, we found this place and although the choices were very limited for the kids, we found udon noodles to feed them here. I ordered their monkey, a roll with yellowtail and spicy tuna hand roll while others in the party just ordered off the entree section. Maybe because I'm from the Los Angeles area but this sushi wasn't all that good. There was nothing special and the sushi was chewy and just lacked flavor in their rolls. Our waitress wasn't friendly and took forever to come take our order. The sushi just was not satisfying that I seriously stopped eating it half way and I love sushi! Decor is a little weird with random artwork on the walls. Metal round chopsticks not the easiest to eat with. Service was a little... not sure, but it left something to be desired. We ordered two sashimi plates and they came out looking very pretty. Things were fine until we bit into our salmon sashimi and several pieces were like half frozen with ice crystals as if they had just been taken out of the freezer. Told our waiter and he just shrugged it off, not what I expect from good service. Don't know how the sushi chef didn't realize when he was cutting into the fish. The rest of the pieces were normal and we just left the thick partly frozen salmon pieces on our plate. Disappointing because this place seems to have potential to be great. read more

I was the only one in the entire restaurant at 1:20 pm, which I found weird since other restaurants in the area has some people. The restaurant was pretty and seemed clean. An older man was the host and waiter and a lady sat in the back on a table. The man was watching tv the whole time and didn't even come check on me after the food was put on the table, my drink was never refilled. I was also not told to have a nice day when walking out, something that every restaurant host says. Place has overall good reviews, but I wasn't impressed. So my 12th anniversary is coming up and I asked my wife where she wanted to go for dinner. She said that she wanted to go back to Sogo. We arrived at the restaurant and was promptly seated. We ordered our drinks and decided to order an appetizer. we settled on the Monster. It contained fresh fish mixed with crab meat, avocado, mango and a mix of spicy and sour sauces. This sat on top of a thing edible piece of rice paper. The flavors and texture were amazing. This dish to us was perfect all around My wife ordered the House Sushi Platter and I ordered the Sashimi and Sushi Platter. These platters came with Miso Soup. The soup contained tiny cubes of tofu. It was good, nothing to write home about. The sushi and sashimi in both of our platters was the freshest we have ever had. Both platters had salmon, tuna, white tuna and white fish. We decided to finish off out meal with the Fried Banana desert. The desert come with ice cream. I got vanilla and my wife got the coconut. All in all, still one of the best restaurant in Easton. read more
