The hubs and I spent a day exploring Sinks State Park and were really hungry and craving Mexican food. We got here shortly after they opened and the place very quickly filled up. Service was fast and friendly and the food was just what we were looking for. I got the chicken suiza enchiladas with no dairy and the hubs got the lengua tacos. I will start by saying, I am not against tipping, but you need to do something to earn a tip and simply taking my card and handing me my to go order does not qualify. However, the owner feels that tipping is mandatory and required. If you don't, she will call you out as loud as she can for the entire restaurant to hear her and say something to the effect of " Oh thank you for no tip!" This was the the owner and she feels tips are mandatory not optional. Well you're wrong. You can be assured I will tell everyone I know and work with not to eat there because of you. I will tell them to go to, El Vaquero or go to El Sol De Mexico in Lander. Where their business is appreciated. and by the way, your Carne Asada is dry, I might also add the cooks have a tip bucket at the front register, they're not getting tipped either for doing their job and turning out dry Carne Asada. read more

As California natives, our standards for Mexican food are pretty high, yet this little place in a small town pleasantly surprised us! I ordered the avocado tostada and cheese enchilada. My partner ordered the expresso burrito (that came like a wet burrito). Service was a little slow, but it seemed like they were the only place open on a Sunday so it was pretty busy. Even though we ordered take-out, it was still hot and delicious by the time we got to our airbnb. Definitely recommend if you're passing through on your way to the Tetons. read more

***Called La Luna*** This place is the best! We stumbled on this place when we stayed in Riverton en route to Grand Teton. Amazing service, and it looked like the place was regularly busy. We have kids and it was super kid friendly. Here were our recs: Grilled chicken tacos - SO good. My husband got tacos and they were fabulous. The chips and salsa are addicting - fair warning. Kids: Get em a Shirley Temple - we did rice and beans because my kids are picky and don't do well when they're hungry- that didn't last. They loved it! No room for dessert but it looked so good. When we tried it the service was very slow and they were out of 2 of the dishes we were ordering. We were kind of underwhelmed with the food. That's the only time we've tried it and have heard from friends that it has improved so we may give it another shot. read more

LA LUNA... The place was tacky but I wanted to give it a chance.. I asked 3X for the correct food.. The waitress acted like the cook would be mad that it had to be corrected and that it was MY FAULT she can't get the food right!!! THREE TIMES the food was WRONG!! We left... Then "manager" came out for me to pay and was so RUDE LIKE IT WAS MY FAULT THE FOOD WAS WRONG ALL THREE TIMES! Hungry Travelers Great Carne Asada! My traveling partner had the Enchilada and Taco combo. He's super happy. We're passing through town, no restaurants were open and the ones that were didn't look all that good. Plus were headed north and worried about the quality of the Mexican food as we drive into MT, SD, ND we understand there won't be many good places for good Mexican food. We didn't quite know what to expect when we walked in here. Having just blown into town and with no recommendations, this was the first spot that looked vegetarian friendly. Can't go wrong with Mexican food, right? We were seated by our waitress who looked like she was having a bad day. We also tried out best to ignore the stares from the locals who didn't recognize these young whippersnappers sauntering into the place. The decor was, um... hokey. The menu had some interesting items but I figured I'd try my old standby, the fajita. My companion tried a vegetarian burrito. The food arrived fast and portions were pretty large. Our waitress didn't seem to cheer up much, even after we were almost sickeningly polite to her. The taste was rather lacking and the beef was kinda tough. I like this place. It's my choice for Mexican in town. Fajitas leave a little to be desired flavor-wise, but oh man... the carne asada is amazing! Their enchiladas are pretty tasty too. Make sure you get the flour tortillas because, as another reviewer pointed out, the corn ones tend to taste a little stale. A non-assuming family run Mexican restaurant with AWESOME food. The beef tamales were excellent, and the chicken taco and beef enchilada were above average and clearly made from fresh ingredients, but oddly the star of the meal was the refried beans and rice. We're not Mexican food experts, given that we are from Vermont, but both my girlfriend and I were blown away with how good the refried beans and rice tasted - melt in your mouth slightly smoky goodness. The family was working hard with a nearly full restaurant and seemed to be genuinely happy to take care of guests. Highly recommended!! read more

A great little Mexican restaurant that doesn't disappoint. We ate here will visiting friends in Riverton, and I'm glad we checked it out. The flavors were fresh and definite, nothing tasted commercial or stale, and the refried beans did NOT taste like the inside of a walk-in like they do at some of these places, but were actually very good.
