Had my appointment willy-nilly cancelled without any notice. I showed up and was told it was cancelled.

I decided to give it a try and scheduled with Pima Ortho. Everyone in the office is wonderful- very efficient and caring. The injections have made a huge difference in my mobility and knee pain. At my first post injection follow up they had me do the same pain assessment that I did pre-treatment. The difference in the numbers was astounding! Huge improvement in both knees. I am able to get up and down much more easily - I don't have pain sleeping like I did before. I am looking forward to even more improvement since they say that at 3 months I should feel the biggest difference! Thank you Pima Ortho!

I also tried a Gel shot that was supposed to last 6 months. It was no better than the Steroid and lasted only a couple of months and then I was in pain again for the next 4 months. I finally found Pima Orthopedics who has a system that will really help. They have all of the modern equipment and staff that is the best. I have finished 4 of my 5 treatments that I was scheduled for and feel so much better. I am a kidney transplant and a kee replacement was out of the question as my replacement kidney is 25 years old. I really believe this is the best solution for me and maybe you.

Because travel to simply discuss the results of the MRI would require 100 miles of driving, I was granted a phone visit. In the course of the phone call, no mention of a co-payment ever occurred. From previous experience with other medical providers, it was reasonable for me to assume that TOI would not again bill me to simply provide me with the results of testing that I paid dearly for, but if they did again require a co-payment, they would notify me at the time of service which is customary of all businesses, including those of a medical nature. In December, 2025, I received a surprise letter from a collections agency demanding the past due payment of $40 for the June 4 visit. That letter was the first notification of any kind of an amount due that I had received. I immediately called TOI and was transferred to a representative from the TOI Business Office who falsely claimed that TOI had mailed billing statements in June, July, and August. She told me the dates of the statements and confirmed my address. I questioned why it was that the collections agency could successfully mail a single demand letter and I would receive it, yet three TOI statements somehow got lost in the mail. She insisted that they were mailed. I paid the $40 to the the representative during that phone call and demanded evidence that TOI had mailed statements. Soon, I received three printed statments in a single envelope from the TOI Business Office in Dallas. The representative had simply printed them from her computer, and highlighted the dates on the three printouts as if that was somehow proof that they had actually been mailed. During the call with the representative, she also stated that the statements were available on my patient portal. It then took a call to TOI for me to setup a password for that portal, and I verified that yes, there were PDF copies of statements there. Yet, I had received no notifications by email, text, phone, mail, or otherwise that the payment was due. Who logs onto some patient portal just to check to see if there might be some payment due? That is not how billing has ever worked in the United States, and I have things to do other than recreationally check patient portals for bills. For the poor business practices of TOI, I give them one star. First off, TOI should have discussed any amounts due at the time the medical service was provided way back on June 4th. After failing at that, TOI had endless opportunities to notify me by mail, phone call, text, or email, and I would gladly have paid the amount due. Finally, one would think that a representative from the billing department of the Business Office could be trained to understand that a PDF file viewed on a computer is not evidence that a statement had been mailed. If it had been mailed, I surely would have received at least one of the three allegedly mailed statements, and I would have taken prompt action to pay it, just as I did once I received a demand letter from a collection agency that was truly mailed. If you enjoy being treated as a deadbeat by TOI and a collection agency for not paying bills you weren't notified were due, then ignore my one star review.

I am SO very grateful that I found Movement For Life Physical Therapy (formerly Athalon) on Ft Lowell for mine! I had total Knee Replacements on BOTH knees last summer only two months apart, (just 17 years after the first orthopedist told me I needed them, lol). With the first knee, I started PT at another place, but I wasn't progressing the way I thought I should. With the second surgery, I decided to find a better crew to help me get walking, sitting and moving 'normal' again. This time I searched better, did the due diligence and discovered Movement For Life PT on Ft Lowell. They got me in right away and we started rehabbing BOTH post-surgical knees, including all the delayed PT work on the (extremely stiff) first knee that was already two months into healing. For the past six months, I've mostly worked with Daniel M and Alissa R (predominantly supported by Irene and Andy). I am super impressed by the plan they put together for my recovery, and the genuine interest and concern they ALL show during each visit for how my knees are healing and the mobility progress I'm making. Some of what they have me doing has been really, really hard, some easier, but ALL of it is helping me move like these after-market healthy knees have always been installed... and though I'm only mid-way through the healing (process can take a year or so), I hurt way LESS than I did pre-surgery. I'm also walking and moving better than I was for the past 20 years on the OEM/original knees, even though I'm actually having to relearn how to walk the RIGHT way since the legs are straight now (not knock-kneed). As I gain strength in muscles that weren't used for decades (due to pre-surgery joint pain) and enjoy restored balance, the team at Movement For Life effectively adjusts my therapy program and homework exercises to reflect where my body is at right now so I can add new skills and motion. With their continued help, I have already started taking short level hikes, can comfortably drive my stick-shift vehicle, expect to go dancing again soon for the first time in many, many years and even anticipate being back on my bicycle by the end of the month!!! I could NOT have accomplished this work (and it IS work; no escaping that) without the great partners/coaching I have at Movement For Life Physical Therapy on Ft Lowell with Daniel, Alissa, Irene and Andy. BTW, the office staff is as professional and personable at their work as the Therapist team is, with Brittany being both friendly and super efficient booking appts around my crazy schedule, handling insurance questions and keeping me on track with the billing stuff. Hopefully, the need for PT won't come up too often in any of our lives, but WHEN it does, this is THE place to pursue a successful recovery with folks that care about your mobility goals, gains and achievements as much as you do! So a HUGE thank you, Daniel, Alissa, Irene, Andy and Brittany (along with any others at Movement For Life that I only got to work with once or twice)... I'm so excited at how you're all helping me get the most out of my new knees! I had a great Surgeon for my Total Knee Replacements, true, and your exceptional post-surgery support has been equally critical to achieving an excellent mobility outcome!!! You are simply the BEST!!!
