Her Saturdays are pretty booked (and waitlisted only when I checked), but last minute cancellations happen so I would call / keep an eye on her Instagram. I was able to snag a last minute appointment on a Tuesday afternoon after she posted on her Instagram Stories :) The studio is tucked away in a corner - I missed it the first time. Cute and clean, and was playing good music (a plus!). The receptionist asked me if I wanted water/tea which was also nice. Tara is amazing - she made me feel super comfortable and was thorough when she asked me about how I usually wear my hair, what style I wanted, picking up on little details from the photos I showed her, and did an amazing job. Maryam consistently goes above and beyond for her clients. Unfortunately, I recently saw a review from a prospective client that completely misrepresented who Maryam is and how she operates her business. The reviewer seemed upset that the salon employs an independent manicurist making it a hassle to call 2 different numbers to make a haircut and a nail appointment! And they seemed really bothered that the salon doesn't accept credit cards -- a completely reasonable and transparent policy shared by thousands of small businesses who choose to avoid the high fees charged by card processors. Maryam accepts cash or personal checks, and I can tell you from experience that this has never been a problem for regular clients. It's a common practice, and certainly no justification for threatening to call immigration authorities -- a cruel and wildly inappropriate response that speaks far more to the reviewer's own character than anything about the salon. The reality is this: Maryam has built a loyal clientele over decades because of her integrity, skill, and heart. If you're looking for someone with experience, talent, and a genuine love for what she does -- someone who treats you like a person, not just a customer -- then Maryam is exactly who you want. I trust her completely, and I'm incredibly grateful for the years of care she's given me and so many others.
