I came here solo on weekday at noon with no reservation. Overall, happy with food and service…read moreprovided. They have either pre determined menu which according to waiter can change from week to week 3 course - 85,000 ARG 11 course - 120,000 ARG (~$40 USD at time of review) I tried their 111 course and very satisfied. Price is reasonable for fine dining. Very chilled and cool ambience, super friendly staff. Food though little in portion packs a punch and hit the taste bud at high note. Highly recommended!

I went to El Papagayo restaurant with my family on December 30, 2022. We went there for lunch…read more Since we were six, they had prepared us a big table on the second floor, in a private room. My brother and I had the tasting menu, the rest of my family had the executive menu. The tasting menu included around 10 dishes, and some snacks. The menu also included a drink: pomelo lemonade with fermented honey. The executive menu also included the pomelo drink and some snacks, but only three dishes. Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They explained each dish. To go upstairs to our room we had to walk by the small kitchen. The kitchen was impeccable. All the kitchen staff also greeted us which felt welcoming as well. This is a small and intimate restaurant and I wouldn't recommend it for large groups (more than 8 people.) Everything in the restaurant works in harmony and seems to be designed for this space exclusively: the building, the furniture, the interior design, the utensils, the pottery where food is served, the glasses. Every dish was delicious, and I probably won't find the right words to describe to you how amazing the whole experience is. I have visited restaurants all around the world, this is now one of my favorites. If you enjoy good food, you need to visit this restaurant. If you like good design, you need to visit this restaurant. If you love architecture, you must visit this restaurant. Since Argentina's economy is not doing so well right now, this restaurant is very cheap for people coming from the US or other countries with a stronger currency. We paid less than $150 USD for all six of us. The pictures in this review were taken by my brother, Matias Luciani.

We were checking out lunch options inside the Mercado Norte and saw two pizza places side by side…read more They looked very similar, but we chose Pizzeria Arroyo Hermanos because it had a larger seating area and more drink choices. I think we made the right choice! If you've never had it, Argentine pizza is quite different from American pizza. The crust is so thick, it looks like a cake, but it's very fluffy and light, sort of like focaccia. Usually there's a lot of sauce on it, although you can ask for less sauce. The basic flavor seems to be cheese with olives, though we saw someone order a pizza with jamon. At this place, you order and pay first, then wait for a table to open up, and they'll call you to sit down. Normally you would receive a numbered ticket, but the lady took pity on us foreigners and called us by name instead. An 11-inch "pizza entero" is AR$75, and sodas are about AR$22, but you can also get individual slices. We were the only extranjeros there and got several curious looks, especially my blonde boyfriend! This definitely seemed like a family business and the owner/dad stopped by to say hello. He chatted with us about where we were from and how we were liking Argentina (and our pizza). We really felt welcome here, even though I'm sure we stuck out in the crowd! If you're looking for a quick, affordable and/or vegetarian lunch in the Mercado, this pizzeria is a friendly, fast option. Recommended!
