I specifically asked the bartender for 4 beers I wouldn't normally be able to get in Edmonton and he had some great suggestions. I especially liked their 24-2 Brett Stock Ale which we ended up buying a couple bottles of to bring home. They also make an excellent sour. Blindman is great and definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in Lacombe, but if you don't, their beers are sold in stores all across the province and they offer delivery in Calgary, Edmonton, and parts of central Alberta.

I also tried the beef tonkatsu and cooking that on a grill was really fun and delicious. They also have a large variety of specialty donuts, cakes and macaroons. I loved the earl grey donut so much and its the only place i know that has this flavour! The donuts were soft and filled with delicous flavoured cream that did not feel heavy at all. They have cakes as well and I love red velvet cakes. They version was actually not sweet at all and i loved it! A must when in red deer. It is just 5 minutes off the highway so its perfect for a little stop if driving between edmonton and calgary!

Save On Foods is generally my grocery store of choice regardless of location, and this one isn't…read moretoo bad. From a grocery store you generally expect good quality of fresh food as well as a large selection of non-fresh food. The produce I have bought from this location has been quite fresh and definitely of the standard I expect. Their meat is also quite good, but again nothing to extraordinary to speak to. I haven't really purchased anything from their deli or bakery so I cannot speak to that. The store itself has really long aisles (which can be inconvenient but I think it helps with traffic). Generally the store isn't very busy when I am there and am able to get through the till quite quickly. I feel this location has a smaller gluten free section than I am used to from Save On, so I'm disappointed with that aspect. Also I'm not keen on the whole order of this store as it doesn't feel very natural or like it flows well. I still shop here quite often as it as what you expect from a grocery store.

Overall just average but it's not like your heading out on the town. Bakery is my biggest reason I don't head back much any longer.
