This was a fun new venue for me. There was plenty of parking within a short walking distance, efficient security check and ticket line, and plenty of space in the lawn seat area to roam. There were chairs available for rental too! The worst part was the drink lines were the slowest thing I have ever experienced. Honestly a full hour to get a shaker cocktail so we missed a full set of one of the openers. Port-a-potties were fine, but all of the toilet paper was soaking wet so I'm glad I had tissue on hand. read more

I have gone to many concerts in my life and Greyday at somerset has got to be the absolute worst I have ever experienced. The staff were rude to me, and many MANY other people in line when we're trying to ask questions. There was zero coordination to the entire thing. Me and my friend got into a line (that we were told was the correct line) it ended up being a line to nowhere . So we stood there for 4 hours in the rain and had to go to the back of the other line anyway. Also the security?? No scanning tickets to get in. Atmosphere and options are good. My advice is to avoid spending the extra money for Maggie's Saloon - it was not worth the $25.00 each at all. Maggie's has $28.00 cocktails and that is about it. Maggie's is just a sheltered pavilion with picnic tables inside that provides more beverage options - that is all, There are many places to get drinks throughout the venue so why spend $50 to go here and spend $60 on cocktails....what? No. There are also a few food vendors scattered on the premises - not a ton but enough to pick from and lines were fair for those. The prices are high - $13.00 for one slice of pizza. $17.00 for a gyro. $13.00 for a hot dog. The two best deals that I saw for food were $7.00 for a corn dog and $10.00 for 4 meatballs. I think every seat there (even the grass) are wonderful seats. The venue is cool. read more

AVOID THIS VENUE. We went to see Fall Out Boy on July 13 and after the opening acts were done, a thunderstorm arrived at about 9:00pm. We were told to wait in our cars and check social media for updates. Except, we had taken an Uber to get there and had no car to hide in (they even recommend ride-share/taxi as a good idea on their websites...which is weird because they had no signage for a ride-share pick-up or drop-off spot). The venue had no proper places to shelter during a storm, so we hid under the awning of a small building near the main entrance. It even had a sign on it designating the building as a shelter. But the 3 venue staff members manning that building, instead of letting us take cover inside where there was room for at least 15+ people, they CLOSED AND LOCKED THE DOOR ON US. The staff left us fans to huddle close together under a tiny awning as the rain and wind pelted us while they stayed safe and dry inside. We desperately tried to use our phones to look for updates from the venue, check weather apps, and communicate with loved ones, except there's no infrastructure in place to handle that much cell phone usage and so we got close to zero internet or phone access. We needed to rely on rumors from stray staff members on the situation, with lots of mixed messages on what was happening. We even witnessed the staff that hid in the building leave and turn off the overhead light on us. After my sister and I had waited about 45 minutes or so, we managed to get a taxi to come get us. It was about 10pm that we got in the taxi and headed back to our car parked in Stillwater. Then at close to 10:20pm, social media announced the concert was back on. My sister and I got to our car and hurriedly drove back to the venue. We parked and could hear FOB was on their second song. Nobody checked our tickets or bags on the way back in and we made our way to our seats, surrounded by people who were definitely not the same ones we sat by during the openers. Fall Out Boy said they were basically going to try playing as much as they could before the curfew and got through a total of 16 songs--normally they play about 28 songs on this tour. We got 57% of the songs we should have heard and the band stopped playing at around 11:40pm. Oh, and did I mention we couldn't see a thing because they didn't bother to set back up the video cameras and monitors that they had going for the opening acts? Then we dealt with the chaotic and sluggish process of leaving the parking lot, which had zero employees helping us navigate out of the grass they call a parking lot. This was a terrible experience all around and it was made so much worse by how the venue handled the situation they were given. We deserve refunds but probably won't get them since the band still played in the end. I didn't even mention the grossly overpriced drinks and gross excessive force of the security staff. Please avoid this venue at all costs. read more

It's fine for an amphitheater in the middle of nowhere. It's too bad the hotels were sold out In the immediate area and we had to stay in St. Paul, but it made for a nice weekend 'road trip'. Parking is a nightmare, though. We were in line for over an hour, only to be directed to a parking spot within a stone's throw from parking lot exit-which was a mixed blessing when we left. It still took some time to get out, and it was not fun navigating a small town we weren't familiar with, and in the dark no less. I'll go back if Pearl Jam ever plays there and is giving away FREE tickets on the rail... read more

This place is a complete joke. Venue is completely disorganized. Concert for suicideboys was supposed to start at 6:30pm. All headliners were canceled. Doors were supposed to open at 5pm. No one was let in until 9pm. Only a couple portapotties while waiting to be let into venue. The concert started at 10:30pm while half of the people were still in line including me. Security check was a joke didn't even scan tickets. I bought tickets for seats I wasn't even able to go to because everyone just went anywhere. The show should have been cancelled. Such a disappointment from this venue. Everyone was soaked and tired and hungry and dehydrated. Lines getting in were a mess. Seating was a mess. They were selling tickets for rented lawn chairs but no lawn chairs were even given. The songs were cut short concert only lasted an hour. No one knew what was going on even the people working there. Everything about this place is disorganized. Concert should have been cancelled and everyone should received a refund for 1/5 of a show. Never go to this place. Drove from Minneapolis just be extremely disappointed. The concert should have just been canceled. Also they are hiding a bunch of reviews on Google. read more

What a horrible experience at greyday August 15 2025. I understand the weather is out of the venues control, but the way it was handled was atrocious. The staff at the north gate didn't say a single thing to the people waiting in line, they just packed up everything and ran. People had spotty service & weren't always receiving the text updates. Over the course of the 4 hour delay we only spoke to someone from live nation twice. Fast pass tickets were a scam as they weren't honored at all, and were never even scanned. Horribly unsafe conditions when the gates did open and live nation/the venue allowed a free for all and people were running and shoving to get in. When the doors did open at 9pm, the show didn't even start until 10:30. Such a money grab by live nation & the venue so they wouldn't have to offer refunds. Seeing 1/5 of the performances that I paid for & standing outside in the rain for 4 hours (+ the 3 hours I was lined up before the delays) with no access to food or water (there was nothing at all at the north gate other than a couple port a potties) and 0 communication directly with the venue/live nation has left me extremely dissatisfied. I will not be returning to Somerset for another show. Overall this was the worst concert experience I have ever had. read more

Nice venue for the Hootie and Blowfish concert. Our group watched from Maggie's. It was good for groups to enjoy the event.

Amateur venue, not set up for any events of significance. If you want to waste the good majority of your day waiting in line to see an event organized by the guy fired from managing the local Burger King this is the place for you! He will gladly do you the honor of taking your money to sit in the parking lot. I'd recommended turning on the radio extremely quiet, letting your buddy punch you in the face, while sitting in rush hour traffic. You will achieve the same result, but save yourself some money. I wanted to treat a couple friends an myself to a friends band Trampled by Turtles who played with Willie Nelson, Robert Plant & Alison Krause. When purchasing tickets for 3rd row seats I paid over $85 for premium fast exit parking. When we arrived it took over 2 hours to enter the parking area and my space was given to someone else who didn't pay for it. We ended up having to park with the campers. Apparently they gave my parking space to someone else and never refunded my money. We didn't get in soon enough to see 2 of the performances that we wanted to and paid extra to sit in the 3rd row just to be stuck in a parking nightmare for so long. The worst part was that we completely missed Trampled by Turtles (which was what prompted me to purchase the tickets in the first place). My friends and I will never go to this venue again as it took another 1.5 hours to get out of the parking lot. We spent more time (3.5+ hours) in my car in a parking field than we did at the actual show. This venue has other reviews like mine and it's mind boggling how they are still getting away with such poor customer service and ripping people off. They have had years to get parking organized but chose to do nothing. They have no respect for ticket holders. read more

I've never been here for the Summer Set Music Festival, but it was rockin'! I parked on top of the hill ($20 really?). Wandered over the entrance only to find out the ticket booth was on the other end of the grounds. So we hiked to the other end, got our tickets and hiked back to enter. That was a lot of walking, but in the course of it we met some awesome security people that were friendly and helpful (including sharing some drinks they had). The main amphitheater was large and spacious. The music was great coming from the bands. I liked the beer tent right in the middle. It was very convenient. We spent a lot of time in the ice arena listening to some sick techno (that means really, really good in young talk. Sure I'm a 30 something, but loved the atmosphere and I'm pretty sure I stuck out like a sore thumb, considering I was dressed as a hipster and not a hippie and not in my early twenties). The artists, sounds and sets were amazing. There were some great visual effects as well. read more

$90 to camp for two people in a 15 x 15 foot space, while there are dozens and dozens of empty spots. No water available inside the venue and you can't bring any in. Long lines for everything and no vegan or healthy options. Other than all of that it was great! read more

I grew up a few towns over and seeing shows at the amphitheater was a part of growing up. It's cleaned up quite a bit since the days of *Edgefest* and I was lucky enough to get to see Northern Invasion a few weekends ago (thank you Yelp!). I won't comment on pricing (it's a festival, guys, everything is going to be more expensive) but I thought there was ample variety, esp considering that the offerings change up with whomever visiting playing. I was VIP so bathroom lines were manageable and sight lines were good. The crowd was rowdier than, say, the country concerts I've been to, but that's the crowd. There's camping and tubing to do here as well. read more

Really nice and large ampitheather. It has concrete flooring which is surrounded by a descending/ascending hill and in the middle are vendor tents as well as a Ferris wheel. Pretty cool. read more

They are losing money with their no reentry policy. Everyone is afraid to enter the concert bowl because they can't return to their tents and go back to see the show. So the place is nearly empty until late in the evening. The opening bands play to a tiny crowd. The staff has to apologize to the band members for the turnout. If reentry was allowed, people might leave the show once (because the campsite is a mile away and people don't want to walk that far). The no reentry policy seems lucrative in theory, but in practice it kills the revenue they would make during the day. read more
