At the end of the building inspector's visit she hosted a FaceTime interview with him. She met us for an in-person tour later. She was responsive, showed initiative. Empire discriminates against disabled people. I'm a live in care giver who provides daily…read moreassistance to a few developmentally disabled adults. I applied and was transparent about my situation and Empire approved my application. Literally the same day I was supposed to do a final viewing and sign the lease they email me and change their mind. They inform me that my severely disabled residents who can't take care of themselves have to apply, be screened and approved, even though this is federally ILLEGAL. When I inform them that this violates the Fair Housing Act they essentially tell me to get bent and that me taking care of disabled people where they live constitutes me "running a business" out of their home. After that they stopped responding to all of my emails. If you are disabled or require live in services of any kind then avoid this company at all costs. They're perfectly happy to break the law to discriminate against vulnerable people in their community.

They leaned objects on the exterior walls and spray painted on my patio. There is what looks to be black marker writing, and was not done by a child. Some of it is above the doorways and it's mostly X's and arrows. It was covered with a paint that didn't match the existing paint in sheen. The whole house needed to be repainted inside and out. Almost every window covering and the carpet need to be replaced. The grass was about three feet tall. When I would call Empire it would take weeks to get a response. If you just want to pay a third party to handle your money, they'd probably be ok. But they have steered my from ever using ANY property management Co.
