Pretty view right outside the bar.

Came here to watch my friends DJ on a Saturday night. Small and intimate space with whimsical decor inside. Had a blast there! There are no signs outside for the bar but there is huge colorful bird decor on the walls so you can't miss it. You can also rent out the entire space for you and your friends, which I think is awesome

Songbird delivers every time. I've tried every item on the breakfast menu and all of them hit. This place is basically at the Chinatown metro station so it makes for a perfect stop before walking around Chinatown or heading on the train. They have a wide variety of beverage options including cocktails if day drinking is in the plan. Super friendly staff and cute no fuss patio to eat and chill.

I went here today looking for a new coffee shop close to my favorite park and I'm so glad I found this place! It's tucked away in a really cute alleyway in Chinatown. The outside patio is very cute and socially distanced, and the barista was super kind and helpful. I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk. It was delicious and strong. I sat out here and got some work done, and it was super peaceful. I also saw that they have $6 cocktails which look absolutely delicious. My only wish is that they were open later than 2pm, but I'll probably still come back to try the $6 cocktails!

I went to check out the current Songbird x Lately collab that's going on right now. I was so pleasantly surprised. All staff were wearing masks. I was concerned about the outdoor seating available since it was 100 degrees, but it's actually all in the shade. The food was so good. Everything came out in boxes and with plastic silverware. I never felt unsafe. The few people next to me also were great about social distancing and keeping their masks on unless they were eating. The standout dish for me was actually the apricot jam toast. Apparently, they go to the farmers market and purchase whatever fit is freshest for this dish. Next week is apparently strawberry week. I may just need to come back! There's a bunch of cocktails and alcoholic drinks that you can big to go as well. I loved the adult juice box. It was a lot of fun. I also really enjoyed my iced caramel latte with oat milk. Great flavor and completed my meal well. They had great Covid procedures. I'm so sad that the speakeasy isn't open right now. I hope to be able to visit one day! Because it was so hot, I opted to park in the underground Blossom lot. It's $1 for each hour. There's also meters. Basically look for the metro link and you'll find Songbird. Such a lovely hidden venue.

I had my 40th birthday party at Songbird Cafe and it was an amazing experience. The venue itself was well decorated, conveniently located and perfectly sized for the number of people I invited. Jose was a pleasure to work with! He kept me updated, answered questions in a timely fashion and was easy to communicate with. The bartender Andrew was friendly, knowledgeable about drinks and a vibe. The outdoor patio was perfect for the taco catering service. Everything contributed to bringing in my birthday with a bang. Thank you all for everything!

9:00p on Saturday December 11th. Purchased tickets for Burlesque show. No one is here at the door. Not sure if there is even an event or if this was a hoax. Management for Songbird, please advise

I went here at night for an event. The bouncer will point you to the way to the bar because it's hidden if it's you're first time going there. Cool place to have a drink with nice decorations all around. Plenty of parking when I went. You can either park at the public parking above songbird cafe or the street meters. I stayed there almost 5 hours at the public parking costing me $3.

Insta stalker was my favorite, but all the ones we tried were great (sandals with socks, songbird, 3 day weekend, style & grace)

Definitely wouldn't have known this speakeasy existed, tucked away in the back of the building. When you walk through the "freezer" door and take a few turns, it opens up to the prettiest bar. It got crowded fast but luckily we got a seat at the bar by Jason (best bartender ever!!!). I tried the songbird, insta-stalker, and style and grace. I loved all of them but my favorite was the insta stalker because it took me by surprise. It was a gin based drink but with an old fashion twist and the shaved cocoa on top added another layer of flavor. The songbird was refreshing and I loved the rose flavor. The style and grace is a tequila based drink and I'm a sucker for anything with tequila and cucumber. My friend had the 3-day weekend, sandals with socks, and back handed complement, which he really liked all of them. Love the cocktails here and the vibe. Definitely good signature drinks and I'm sure Jason can whip up anything if you wanted to do something different.

Songbird opened in late December, so this is a new bar. Enter the plaza from Broadway, you'll see the red lanterns and head towards the back where you'll see a cafe with bird decal on the windows. This is the place. Inside is nice and not too loud. It's a nice place to catch up with people without the need to yell. It's a low key place, but that might change as more people find out about Songbird. The wine bar next door is more popping with music blasting. Cocktails aren't bad. We got the Songbird (a tad sweet, but overall good) and How You Like Me Now? (sangria type drink - easy to drink) Would come again and will be interesting to see how the vibe evolves.

Came here for a birthday party event and this speakeasy is pretty cool! You go into the cafe's huge freezer doors which takes you to the bar! The drinks were really good and the DJ was lit. I enjoyed it. As an FYI, you cannot bring outdoor food or treats into the establishment so please keep that in mind. Overall, we had a great time and the staff was really friendly!

Special menu for our engagement party... Loved the drink titles. So creative

When js their happy hour and what is the deal?

It’s on Tuesdays! And they so deals on your classics like an Old fashioned. I don’t remember the exact list but it’s primarily your classic cocktails.

For the coffee shop portion of this cafe - do they have Wi-Fi so I could work while drinking my coffee?

The store is not like usually regular coffee shops, that is private bar we can call like that, because when they open not even knowing have signs open either. So is kind weird clubs

We decided to get a drink to celebrate Father's Day, only to strike out at the first two bars we tried--I guess a lot of places are closed at 9:30 on a Sunday. This is how we ended up at Thunderbolt, a buzzy bar in Echo Park, just far enough away that we'd never made our way over. I loved it immediately. Thunderbolt has the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of a neighborhood bar and the hip aesthetic and high-level cocktails of a millennial boozer destination. (Not that young people can't or shouldn't hang out here, but it seems especially geared toward people like us, who drank at Walker Inn a decade ago.) We ended up sitting next to a guy who regularly drives up from Palos Verdes. I guess the place gets pretty busy, but it was ideal on a Sunday night. Happening but not crowded, with just enough space at the bar for us to grab two seats together. The bartender was great, super helpful and welcoming. He also made excellent drinks. Thunderbolt is one of those bars with an encyclopedic illustrated book for a menu. Not a long menu, just a detailed one, with a lot of information available about each drink. We got a Liquid Picnic and a Barcelonnette--just one round to close out the weekend. Both were delicious. The Liquid Picnic was a smooth, savory gin martini made with London dry gin, tomato, citron, vermouth, rosemary, and black pepper. I learned from the book that it used clarified tomato water. (There was also further reading about the clarification process.) The Barcelonnette was a mezcal sour with Suze, passionfruit, and lime, the foam made without egg white through some geeky mixologist process. Thunderbolt is not our neighborhood bar, but we plan to go back when we can to check out the rest of the menu. It's a wonderful place, well worth a jaunt on the freeway.

We went on an early Thursday evening, so it was pretty dead, which honestly I liked. But on the weekends it turns into a piano bar, so if you want the full experience that's probably when you should come. My partner wanted to check this place out, and I had absolutely no idea what I was walking into. I used to live in Savannah, Georgia, and walking in immediately reminded me of bars back there. I've missed places like this. I didn't even bother looking at the menu. I asked one question: "Do you have fried pickles?" "And are they spears?" Check. And check. Instantly passed my very low bar test for a place like this, and they tasted exactly how I wanted them to. Both bartenders were great too. Easy to shoot the shit with. Although I will say... I kind of wished there were just a couple old guys sitting in the corner quietly brooding over their drinks. They also have pickled eggs, which I honestly can't remember seeing at another bar in LA. And if pickled pig's feet are your thing... they've got those too. They've never been my thing. The only thing that really pulled me out of the atmosphere was the giant ring light by the bathroom. I guess you have to keep the younger crowd entertained these days if a live piano player isn't enough. There's also the market next door, which is owned by the same people and looks like it's full of good stuff, but it was closed when we visited. I'm assuming it's open on the weekends too, which is another reason I'd recommend coming, if you want the full experience. One last thing... don't be a dick and order a Ramos Gin Fizz when the place is slammed. We only ordered one because it was completely dead.

We let the bartender know that we don't drink and she offered to make these ice cold tea drinks and she killed it! Whatever she made, refreshed the hell out of me and I loved it! She was pretty chill and made us feel welcome. There was another gentleman there that took our food orders and I'm not sure if he was another bartender or the owner, but he was pretty chill, too. We didn't want to be in the way at the bar with all of our food while everyone was having a good time, so we moved to a table. People were having cold ones and dancing. It was good to see everyone enjoying themselves! I told yall---vibes! Little did we know at the end of the bar is a whole dining area! This joint was pretty big!
