My dishwasher issue was assigned to this company by First Home Warranty service. I had been waiting for the appointment to be scheduled, but there were no contact whatsoever. Then they showed up without any notification or confirmation, then told me to schedule an appointment with dispatcher. I waited 3 days for the call, still no contact. Called dispatcher 6 times , no answer. And when I contacted Warranty company, Sonic appliances REFUSED the service after long wait. Look, I work on retail store. I cannot answer calls when I am at work, but i tried to keep my phones with me. I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY NOTIFICATION. I waited this long, 4 days after the unexpexted visit, it is so UNPROFESSIONAL to simply REFUSE the service order after 4 days. It was not my fault that your dispatcher failed to contact me. This company was assigned by Old Republic Home Protection to install and haul away a new dishwasher. They contacted me and we arranged an appointment. My wife had to stay home to ensure someone was available for the appointment. 10 minutes before my appointment they call me to tell me they don't do haul-away, even though that was the work order provided to them by Old Republic Home Protection (verified). They first offered to install the new one but I was up to me to get rid of the old one, or they said they would cancel. This is horrible professionalism and the lack of attention to the details they are provided. Considering this company cannot competently read a work order, I would be hesitant to have them actually do any work at my house. read more

Rabin evaluated our dishwasher for a policy with American Home Warranty. It was a very clear situation: the handle of a Bosch washer cracked (poor design) and as a result of the crack, the power and other buttons didn't function properly. Rabin's answer was this was a cosmetic issue not covered. As a former engineer that has worked at Intel and worked on laptop designs, I shared with him that this is definitely not a cosmetic issue: if you can't turn on/off the power, it's not cosmetic. It's a FUNCTIONAL/SYSTEM issue. Of course, rather than properly mark it as an issue and help advocate for me, he said "let's just send it to the insurance company and see what they have to say." He knows he can just mark it as such, get paid, and walks away. This is the type of contractor that American Home Shield (AHS) sends out and sadly is just a waste of energy and time, and such a frustrating experience. See the pic of my "cosmetic" issue. Old Republic Home Protection hired this local company to come check out my Samsung French door refrigerator - water kept leaking behind the vegetable drawer. So once a month I would need to soak it up with a towel. They told me the issue will just keep coming back and whatever they fix is just a temporary fix since Samsung is notorious for this issue. They ended up having to order a part, come back a month later and fix it. Like he said, it was a temporary fix. It was good for 3 months then the problem came back. Now that my coverage is over, I'm stuck with this leaking refrigerator. Why did they not tell Old Republic it's a temporary fix? The home insurance company claims Sonic Appliances did not mention anything to them. They refused to listen to me since I'm not the pro in refrigerator repairs. If terrible service had a name, it would be Sonic Appliances Repair. We were assigned this vendor by AHS after another contractor had already been out. The problem with my fridge had already been diagnosed. All they had to do was come out and fix it. They arrived within the scheduled window. They stayed 10 minutes for what was supposed to be an extensive repair. They decided the problem was something else and "fixed" that. After they left, it was very apparent my fridge was even more broken than before. I sent the text messages attached to this review after they left and it was apparent my fridge was still broken. I got no reply. I placed a followup visit request with AHS which was assigned to them. On Monday, after not hearing anything back, I called. After the contractor identified me as the sender of the texts, he said I sent "strongly worded texts" and he will not come back out. After coming on a Friday, the order the necessary part and came back Sunday to install! My dryer is in a weird corner where you have to unscrew a shelf.
