I was on vacation with some friends in Myrtle Beach and decided to grab a bottle of something to enjoy in the hotel room and wind down for the night. I am a service dog handler and apparently this is where the problem was because as soon as my dog and I walked in and got to the back of the store (it was the quickest path to the drink coolers), he literally yells at me from the front of the store to get my dog out. I informed him that my dog was a service dog and he told me "You look fine NO DOG." When I tried to explain to him that this dog was a service dog and I just wanted to get some drinks, he came out from behind his counter and aggressively approached us and started asking about what disability I had and why I had to have my dog. When I informed him that I am not answering anything about my disability, but I would gladly answer the questions he was allowed to ask he stepped closer to me and tried to reach towards my dog (who was attempting to task beautifully). I stepped back and told my dog to stay behind me, but the guy stepped closer to me and actually put his hand on my dog's leash which is an over the shoulder hands free leash. I admit I was beyond mad at this point because his hand got a little to close to some female body parts and had no intention to buy anything there, but he literally had me backed up against a wall. That's when I finally started standing up for myself and walking towards him telling him to back away from us. He tried to grab for my dog again and I told him unless he wants charges pressed against him he will not think about touching my dog again. As I was leaving (after he went back behind his counter) he yelled "STUPID BITCH" and "F*** YOU." There were a few customers in the store when all this happened and they did attempt to help but there's not really anything anybody could have done, but over half the store left when I did. For clarification my dog was marked by his leash, collar, and multiple patches and was behaving perfectly through the whole ordeal and because of that got some extra treats as a reward.
