Choice Warranty assigned my dishwasher problem to Sonny Appliances. Without consulting me, an appointment was made for a time period between 11am to 3pm. I received an email at 6:17am on the appointment day. I received a call from the technician at 3:04pm to confirm my appointment and inform me he was on his way. He arrived at 3:49pm and walked into my kitchen without concern for the water he was bringing from his shoes (it was a rainy day). I told him the dishwasher does not clean the dishes. He took the filter out of the dishwasher and as he ran hot water through it to clear out a few pieces of food particles, he hit it against the divider of the sink splashing water all over my clean dishes and counters. As he started the dishwasher, I told him it does not dry (heat dry). He made his conclusion the dishwasher needs a new pump. He stood up, asked for a credit card and told me the warranty company will have to order the parts. He charged my card and was out the door at 3:58pm. From this experience, I would not call on Sonny Appliances. The disregard for common courtesy was loud and clear. I'm sure he wasn't having his best day today; I'll give him that. Choice Warranty owns some of the blame here. I would not use Choice either. read more

My washer was having a problem draining and gave error codes so I called Choice Warranty company to file my claim. My claim was assigned to Sonny's Appliances, which I was not thrilled as I dealt with him several months ago for the same issue on the same washer. I won't go into great detail but it was the rudest exchange I have ever been involved with. I called the warranty company and ask for another company. If you file a claim through a warranty company and he comes up, might want to ask for someone else. Rudest person of all time. read more

Just like some of Sonny's previous customers (Victims) I would give zero stars if I could. 05/24/2025 I purchased a GE washer and dryer, which was delivered on 05/28/2025. The washer operated with various problems. Within two days, I determined it was/is a lemon. Sonny's should have replaced it, but instead Andrew simply called GE for a service call. Now seven service calls and almost three months later GE still refuses to replace the unit, which has approx. 9 months left on the factory warranty. Both Sonny's and GE are totally at fault. Sonny's should have replaced the washer from the beginning. They were paid in full on the date of sale and claimed it was new on the invoice. They sold me a lemon and probably knew it as well. Customers shopping for appliances will be better served at Home Depot or Lowe's. Avoid Sonny's for sure, once they have your money, they are done. Their versions of customer service and reliability cannot be described here. read more

As you can already tell from the other reviews this is a joke of a person/company. I'm not even sure it's actually someone that fixes appliances and not just someone that goes around scamming home warranties and their customers. HWA is who I have used and while they were good about responding to my frustrations they have let this guy pull my leg for over a month now. I'll do a separate review for them though. Please do not let your home warranty company let this person come out at any cost. You will be ripped off and most likely out of your service fee. read more

I too would have given this company a zero. I experienced the same thing or similar. On 8/17/24 Sonny Appliances was sent to my home by Choice Warranty. The Technician was not pleasant wanted the service fee in cash which I told him I do not have cash offered Debit/Check options insisted that I pay in cash. Took the fee $85 via Debit. Received no paper work, told me to check my email to see what Choice will do about fixing my dishwasher to which my claim was denied. I knew just by his demeanor that he had no intention of fixing my appliance and I agree that this company is a scam. They are making money by collecting the service fee. When you see this company call Choice and have them send someone else. read more

If I could rate Sonny zero stars I would. My home warranty sent them to fix my dishwasher. They were not kind upon arrival to my house and diagnosed my heating element to be broken. They said they would order the part. I had to call 3 additional times to follow up to see when they would come. 2 months later they came back and said they couldn't fix it!! Terrible customer service and work. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Sounds like we dodged a bullet based on this companies Yelp, Google, BBB, etc reviews. Was assigned this one-man company (owner services the repairs) through my home warranty company. Got the time window and was called the day of service letting me know that he was 30-45 minutes away. I left work and waited for over an hour and a half for him to get to my house. He diagnosed my dishwasher and submitted to the warranty company. Told me from there he is going to go radio silent until we get the approval for the repair. We got approval next day and never heard from him. Was reached out to by the warranty company a week later and made aware that he told them that the part was ordered and would be coming in the next day or two and we would be receiving a call to get the repair scheduled. We hadn't heard from him and waited almost another week before the warranty company followed up again letting us know that he told them the part was in and he would be calling me that day. He never did call, so I followed up with the warranty company about the lack of communication. He was told that if he did not schedule by end of day that following Monday that he would be removed from our claim. He called an hour later and scheduled it for 4PM next day. Crickets.... 4:30PM rolled around and no sign of him. I called him and he said he was on his way. I had some bad feelings about this so I looked him up on Google!! OMG!! My husband called him back to let him know we were going to need to reschedule due to his tardiness (but really in an effort to give us time to get him off our claim for his unprofessionalism and honestly my families safety). He told my husband he had no idea that he had a 4PM appointment. I would highly recommend immediately getting your claim reassigned and not bother wasting your time with this highly unprofessional company. Sounds like we saved ourselves an even more massive headache in the long run. read more

I was scheduled at least 5-7 days in advance, the time was scheduled for 11a-3p, I called them at 4pm someone answered and I asked what happened to the tech that was suppose to be at my house between 11-3p, I was informed that they running late, I told him that was bad customer service, the least he could of done was called me, he pause then hung up, I called back someone else answered, I repeated myself he then told me he is not gonna argue with me and hung up again, this company does poor work and customer service sucks, I did ask to speak to manager and he said nobody there then said he is the owner, THEY NEED TO LEARN WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS read more

This business is a scam 100%. Our home warranty assigned us this technician and he is inadequate to say the least. Don't let him in your house and don't let him touch your equipment. The first two times he was scheduled to work on our things he never showed up! No warning or anything. Now he worked on our washer and didn't do anything to it because he "didn't have time". But told our warranty company it did t need fixed. He was on his phone the entire time watching YouTube. Very rude and abrasive. We will be seeking legal action if he ever steps foot in our property. Wish there was a zero star rating, because that is what I would rate this company. My home warranty sent them to fix my dishwasher. Technician was not pleasant, and after diagnosing the issue they said they would order the part. We have attempted to call numerous times since the part was ordered with no answer and no return call. Sonny was sent by my home warranty service to look at my washer. He determined that it needed two parts replaced. He told the home warranty which offered a buyout. I purchased a new washer while waiting for the check. After several calls, the home warranty service said sonny would not return their calls or emails. I have to start the whole process over with a new contractor now, 3 months later. All this because sonny did not return calls or emails from the company he contracted with. read more

I wish I could give this man/company a -5 star review but since that's not an option, I had to go with 1 star. He was referred by Choice Home Warranty to fix the motor in my dryer. I was given a time window between 1-3 for him to come and access the issue. By 2:30 I had not received a confirmation call, so I called the number listed and he had an attitude saying I did not give him time to call and confirm and that it was not 3 yet, so he was still within his window. When he arrived he was EXTREMELY rude, condescending, and dismissive......I made a complaint that day. I then received an email from choice home warranty stating the part was approved , not once did I hear from the this man personally. He came out on 7/2/24, today is 7/15/24 and I still hadn't heard from home so I reached out to Choice who then called him and connected the call. At this time he was rude to the customer service rep saying that they and myself are bothering him by calling and that the part just came in today but he doesn't want to deal with me. I'm 100% sure he had the part but purposely made me wait because I filed a complaint on him and so did the customer's service rep. With a rating of 1.8 and reading the reviews, I don't think this company needs to be referred to anyone. read more

This guy doesn't know how to fix stuff correctly at all. I had my heating element go out in my dryer back in December and he replaced it. Just shy of three months the heating element went out again. This guy isn't friendly at all and I have told my home warranty company not to send him back out. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Sonny in his efforts to repair my GE refrigerator ice maker. First he said I needed a new ice maker so I bought one and he installed it. However it only made one tray of ice after waiting over 2 days. Sonny did not seem to know what the problem was when I explained the issue over the phone. However, he kept promising to come back on certain days and times (after I left phone & text messages and even talked with him) -- BUT HE NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN AND HE STOPPED RESPONDING ALTOGETHER. His charges ($$$) were significant, but his service and GE refrigerator appliance knowledge were very unsatisfactory--and I still have the same (no ice) problem that I started with. read more

Sonny was sent to me by Choice Home Warranty to diagnose my dishwasher that wasn't draining. He said it was the pump and it was approved to order a new one. He was very negative and criticized my tile floor and granite countertop installations because they made it difficult for him to pull out the dishwasher. After installing the new pump and it still didn't drain, he said the pipe must be clogged but he wasn't allowed to work on the pipe. He put Drano down the pipe and said to try it the next day. When I went to try it, I discovered that the dishwasher door wouldn't close and when I called him he said the dishwasher was old and there was nothing he could do. (It closed just fine before he pulled it out.) He refused to accept responsibility. All along he was very hard to get ahold of and never called me to arrange a time to come. I always had to call him to see when he'd be here. I would not recommend his company at all. read more
