Sonoita is a stunningly beautiful community - serene, friendly, timeless. It's also "tucked away", which is a good thing, ...unless you're trying to navigate the maze of moving into a place where you know no one. Where do you start? I can save you some trouble in two words: Kathy O'Brien. Kathy is one of those special people who's equal parts skilled professional, genuinely caring neighbor, and expert tour guide. She literally knows the area like the back of her hand and she truly delights in connecting newcomers with the wonders of her community. She's straightforward and encyclopedic at the same time. Each of the dozen or so house/land-hunting visits we made to Sonoita was pleasant in every way - Kathy made sure we had her full attention and pulled out all the stops as she worked to help us find the right property. In the end, our 'destiny' turned out to be in Tucson, not Sonoita, but we owe even that happy ending to Kathy, as she very graciously linked us up with the agent who took care of our project. I'd add one final comment: too often, what people publish online about their businesses is just hot air to make them seem important and as a smokescreen for what you, sooner or later, discover to be their incompetence.
