How can you pass up Polish Easter food when you don't have to cook it? This church advertised in…read moreseveral media outlets, including Yelp, that they were making Polish Easter food available for purchase the day before Palm Sunday. There were both hot meals available for takeout and frozen foods available for later preparation. Their organized setup demonstrated that they had plenty of experience carrying out such a complicated project. Plenty of parking available, online orders vs. walk-ins were directed where to go upon entering the building, plenty of staff/volunteers available at a row of tables to either take your walk-in order or fill your prepaid online order. Ours was an online order. Our name and order number were checked off on their list and a copy of our order was given to staff behind a line of partition screens to compile the order. Once the order was fully bagged, which took no more than 10 minutes, it was brought in front of the screens and the customer's name or order number was announced. This was the only small negative I observed. The large hall had sound reverberating from the number of people and ongoing activity. This made hearing your name or number difficult to hear at times. We ordered two hot Polish Platters ($16 each) consisting of two potato cheddar pierogi, kielbasa, kapusta, and golabki. This also came with a slice of rye bread and some sour cream. The pierogi had sautéed onions on them, but still seemed to lack some flavor. Salt and pepper helped, but I think a more flavorful cheese with the potato would have been my preference. The dumpling dough was thin enough and not overcooked. The kielbasa had a good amount of flavor, especially garlic, and was the only item in the dish that was noticeably salty. The kapusta was good and not very sour. The golabki surprised me because the meat filling was closer to how my mother made them with not much rice mixed in. These were served with a tomato sauce (Mom's never had a sauce) similar to a spaghetti sauce. Regardless of the criticism I've offered, I most certainly would be interested in ordering this platter again. We also ordered some of the frozen pierogi for future meals. The church is partnering with Babcia's Pierogi in Buffalo. They offered 16 varieties of filling for their pierogi with six to a package. We ordered two of the more traditional fillings, potato cheddar ($9.99) and kraut ($9.99), along with two non-traditional, jalapeño popper ($11.99) and beef on weck ($11.99). Some flavors we passed on THIS TIME were Buffalo Wing, Stuffed Banana Pepper, Sausage Asiago & Spinach, Taco, Kielbasa & Kraut, Apple, Blueberry Cheese, and Reuben pierogi. NEXT TIME! We were given a handout announcing "The Pierogi Bar" on June 18, 2022. Better check my calendar.

It is not the responsibility of the church to tell its communicants how many children they must or must not have. Marriage serves other major purposes besides the procreation of children. ​ ABORTION Abortion is morally wrong, for it is the ending of a life that has already begun. The church does not sanction it. ​ DIVORCE There are no discriminatory regulations against those who have suffered from a divorce; divorced people may participate in Mass and receive Holy Communion.  The Church has an obligation to lend its support and ministry to those who have divorced, as it would to casualties of other social ills. ​ RE-MARRY Yes. Each Diocese has a Matrimonial Commission that studies each request for marriage by persons who have been divorced. This commission presents its finding to the Diocesan Bishop with its recommendation. The Bishop makes the final decision. ​ WE GOVERN We govern in accordance with the PNCC Constitution.  In matters of faith, morals and discipline, bishops and priests possess the authority to explain and teach the doctrinal position of Christ's Church. St Peter's Armenian Apostolic Church has a couple of fund raising bazaars/festivals each year. My first indulgence was a couple of years ago, and I enjoyed the different foods so much that I've been back several times now. The gatherings are held in early June and early December. Some of the delicious things I've enjoyed on my visits are: Appetizers: Babaganoush (eggplant dip) with pita bread. Lahmejune (beef/lamb pizza). Yalanchi (rice stuffed grape leaves). Soup: Madzoonov Kufte (Armenian yogurt and meatball soup). Entrée: Dolma (a full sized pepper filled with a lamb and rice stuffing). Dessert: Beoreg (triangles of filo dough and cheese). Bird's Nest (walnut filled filo dough shaped like nests). Bourma (filo dough rolled around a walnut filling). Gatnabour (Armenian rice pudding). Kadayif (cream filled shredded filo dough). Paklava (walnut filled filo dough). There is plenty more to choose from, including BBQ & Shish Kabob at the June event, and you can either eat at the festival/bazaar or have the food packed to take home. These festivities also have crafts for sale and music. Did I mention how friendly all the people are? Mark your calendars for next June and December. It really doesn't get any better than this, even if you have a grandmother's house to go to. After all, many grandmothers have done all the cooking here.

I don't come here a lot but they have some things I like like the new pizza place. They're on the…read moreoutskirts of the parking area. Then they have Ocean State Job Lots they have some fitness centers they have a gaming store and a vape shop and I think they have a bottle return I go to Ocean State Job Lot. Today it was a minefield literally the parking lot looked like a minefield. They were craters and it's not safe. There was a giant huge crater the size of my car right in front of the parking spot I need which is a handicap spot so it's also unsafe. I left through the middle roadway which I've never gone down before and it had two giant craters one my tire ended up in. Hopefully my car is not damaged. The craters need to be filled. Also if you're going in here be careful when you're driving because you really don't have to watch out for the cars you have to watch out for the craters in the parking lot. Without the issue with the parking lot it would get five stars. I know it's there the thing that I go for I like pizza my yummy favorite sandwich that they had at Half Moon sandwich shop and ocean state.
