I got a classic cheesecake with strawberries and blueberries. It tastes fresh and fluffy - better than I expected and very different from any traditional cheesecake. I would come back for special occasions. You have to order ahead though because their orders are packed and short notices aren't guaranteed.

Quick Summary: - Punctual delivery service - To those, who don't view email inbox as often, check your inbox after ordering - Fluffy cake-like texture - Depending on where one lives, a delivery fee is added - Pairs well with coffee I discovered the shop when I was looking for my relative's birthday cake. They love cheesecake, and the particularly like the Japanese styled one, where it's more like a cake than the denser New York style. When I read the summary and the description of the cake, it sounded like the one my relative was craving for, so we gave it a try. I did the ordering online, by filling out the form. Within half a day, a reply arrives in your email inbox, so check the email. (Sadly, I don't have this habit of viewing emails, so I missed an email reply from the staff. I felt so sorry afterwards...) The cake arrived exactly around the date and time I requested, and it came in a very simple but pretty box. I loved the seal that said, made with love. It brings a nice, homemade touch to it. The cake was delicious, and the texture was what we had hoped for. The cake was light and fluffy, but also moist! I thought it was slightly on the sweeter side, but this paired extremely well with coffee. I was pleased with the experience, and my relative was also very happy with the birthday cake!

This cake tastes as amazing as it looks! Christina was super responsive via email when placing the order and text when scheduling a local pickup. Our family (kids included) thoroughly enjoyed the cake, especially for my aunt who follows a strict diabetic diet. If you're on the market for Japanese cheesecake in the East Bay, this is the place to go!

It's Mediocre. I told her about my preferences for sweetness but still it is too sweet for my liking. I ate one slice and gave the rest to my boyfriend and his roommate. I am glad they enjoyed it. Looks nice but a disappointment 40 bucks :*( for cake, in which I forgot to ask about the size and wasn't told 5 bucks for the appx 15 mins delivery No more handmade cakes in Bay Area I will learn from videos and bake my own. 45 bucks I can literally go for 3-4 rounds of ingredients. Attentive customer service

Corrine did an amazing job! I ordered a birthday cake for my husbands birthday with a request for a Panda. The cheesecake was moist and delicious! So nice to support a local baker and it was such a nice feature that she was able to deliver. The process was easy and she is super responsive.

I was looking for a Japanese soufflé cheesecake for my partner's birthday. I had looked up Uncle Tetsu but they were closed due to covid and a bit pricy. Luckily I found Sonshine Cheesecake; her cakes looked great, and she had great reviews on yelp and Facebook. I messaged her on fb on the 7th, and she replied immediately. I asked her if she could have one ready by the 10 and she said it was no problem. She was able to stencil my partner's name on the cake, sent photos, and then delivered it to our doorstep on the 10th in the middle of the day! The cheesecake was still warm, and packed in a bubble wrapper and a box for safety. It looked amazing and tasted even better! We devoured it over the course of a few days and have been craving another ever since!

Corinne made a cheesecake for me, for my moms birthday on short notice! This cake was the perfect size for my small family and we ALL enjoyed it. It's keto but it was the perfect sweet fluffy dessert (she uses monk fruit sweetener). I'm not on a keto diet and I honestly forgot it was keto. It was just delicious!! I'm just so happy it all worked out. Japanese cheesecake is my mom's favorite dessert and it made her day during this lockdown. Thanks again Corinne!!

I am obsessed with Sonshine Cheesecake's matcha cheesecake. I ordered a matcha cheesecake and normal cheesecake, and both had the best fluffy texture and were so airy. These cheesecakes were significantly more delicious than the other soufflé cheesecakes I've ordered in NYC/SF and honestly even in Hokkaido (they're all too way sweet and often lack the fluffy/bouncy texture and seem deflated). Both were also the perfect sweetness / not very sweet (perhaps because we asked Corinne for reduced sweetness), so we had a fantastic time enjoying them for breakfast too! The most exciting part, however, was that in addition to being truly delicious, the cheesecakes were the most gorgeous cheesecakes I've ever seen. Corinne is creative and helped me cut out custom stencils for Ghibli designs: Kiki and Totoro (or KE-TOtoro lolol)! I absolutely adore the design and I'm so grateful for Corinne's help in making all my keto and Ghibli dreams come true! I've recommended her to all of my friends. Thank you, Sonshine Cheesecake!

It's a wonderful shopping experience with Sonshine Cheese Cake! I contacted the owner Corinne via Nextdoor App, and communication was ver smooth and very responsive! I ordered the cake for my cousin's birthday, it tasted so good! Most important thing: it's Keto-friendly, so I love it~ For sure will order the cake again, and you should try it, too!

Ordering and delivery was a breeze! Gifted to my in-laws (my mother-in-law passed away on Christmas day 2 years ago and this was a tribute gift) and they were pleased, and loved the stencil. The cake looked amazing, was delicious, and it paired well with the after-dinner-coffee!

    Berry cheesecake!

Ordered for the first time for my wife's birthday. It was delicious! Not too sweet, but light and delicious. Packaged beautifully and my wife and family devoured it all pretty quick!

There was a live voice, not a recording asking me 1) which location I wanted, 2) would I hold because they were helping other customers, and 3), to please leave a voice mail and they could call back later. No! The guy on the other end said they had 6-inch round cakes in their case - perfect size for our celebration. It took about 30 minutes to get there and I managed to park in front of their door (a miracle in itself!). I chose a mango mousse cake - it was gorgeous, and perfect for an impromptu birthday celebration. Note: the finished cake is more like 8+ inches in diameter. I think it is the base of the cake they measure from. Once you add on the whipped cream and lady fingers, you have a gorgeous and substantial cake. Thank you so much, our friend was very happy!

DO NOT TRUST THIS BAKERY FOR ANY SPECIAL EVENT…read more I placed an order on December 13 for a cake for my sister's birthday celebration on December 30, plenty of notice for what should have been a simple, professional transaction. When I arrived to pick up the cake, they had not made it at all. There was no real apology, no urgency, and no accountability. The staff was completely nonchalant about the fact that they had dropped the ball on an important milestone celebration that could have been completely ruined because of their mistake. The person who took the order, Jack, was apparently "new," but that is not an excuse. If he took the order, where was it put? Why was it never followed up on? And more importantly, why were no meaningful concessions made when we arrived and discovered their error? The only "solution" offered was an alternative cake that would serve six people, when we needed a cake for 25. That's not a solution; that's insulting. To make matters worse, we were able to find another bakery (Marita Pies - Sweet Potato Pie Co.) that stepped up and baked a cake for us in TWO HOURS the same day. That just highlights how poorly Hopkins Bakery handled this situation. This is horrible customer service, horrible business practice, and a complete lack of professionalism. Do not depend on this bakery for any special event. I would never recommend this place and will absolutely never return. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and potential embarrassment; go somewhere else.

Most recently I finally was able to give them a try. So glad we did! We came around lunch time and sat at a booth. There were other worker bees grabbing a quick lunch. The service was quick, efficient and friendly, and we ordered the French onion soup to start, and split the fried chicken sandwich and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The sandwiches come with a side, so one plate we did fries with a house-made aioli and the other plate, their quinoa kale salad. Delicious. Such hearty portions! The bread is so fresh, the meat juicy and ample, and flavors just right. We also ordered beer on tap, shoutout to Oakland United, and tried their house-made hot sauce that they also sell by the bottle. Would love to come back to try brunch here too. I also saw a patron ordering the quinoa kale salad with fried chicken, and yes, that's the vibe! Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity, and street parking available (although the restaurant is located at the bottom of Solano where it tends to be a bit more busy). They then called my order so I went to grab it and sat back down. I immediately noticed every other person there was getting table service. The baristas would bring out the drinks and pastries on the same wooden boards, even to the people that were upstairs. Coincidentally, I was the only male and person of color in there. It really left a bad taste in my mouth and soured my whole experience. Drink and pastry was great, but I would not recommend going here just based off their customer service. With all the coffee shops in the area, you'd think they'd make an effort to make people feel welcome. I'd suggest taking your business elsewhere.
