Our family has been at Sonshine Preschool for 3 years and it's been a fantastic experience. They provide a colorful, safe, welcoming classroom environment with warm, caring teachers that guide each child to reach their full potential. The teachers keep you up to date with your child's progress, triumphs, or any areas of concerns they have. There are plenty of opportunities for family members to get involved within the classroom and also partake in the field trips they go on. I look forward to sending our second child to such a wonderful school like Sonshine. read more

History

Established in 2000.

Sonshine Christian Preschool was started by members of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dundee. Each person shared a vision of reaching out into the local community and offering a place to provide a Christian Education in a safe and nurturing evironment.

Meet the Manager: Stephanie M.

Rachel graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and major in Early Childhood Studies. She taught Kindergarten for two years with School District U-46 and Pre-Kindergarten for two years at the Primrose School in South Elgin. She loves working with preschoolers because of their enthusiasm for learning and how amazing it is to watch them learn and grow. Her favorite part of teaching is reading books aloud to children, especially anything by Eric Carle or Mo Willems. She enjoys working at Sonshine because of the caring, Christian environment and being able to share God's love with the children. She has 5 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 4-18 and enjoys spending time with them.
