The staff is lovely. The food and management however are another story. My boyfriend ordered a seafood udon which was inedible, canned muscles, small frozen shrimp and broth that he referred to as "dirty bath water". When he said he couldn't eat it the only thing management offered was 20% off the meal- aka $2. I've worked in restaurants for decades and never seen things handled like that. The poor girl serving us made it seem like this was a regular unfortunate occurrence for her to deal with. On my way out I told the manager we were extremely unhappy and that's not how you handle things. He proceeded to argue with me and then told me I was no longer welcome there. Went here for lunch. Interior is warm and receiving. Lots of dark colors and dark woods. The wait staff was quick and attentive. From order time to meal delivery time was quick. I ordered veggie sushi and the presentation was very good. The plate and food were arranged pleasing to the eye and nothing out of place. We love Sora Sushi! They're affordable, delicious, and they offer delivery when you order via phone, online, or through Door Dash. If you order online (it is less expensive to order through their website than it is to use DD), but, want to pay via card (the site only gives the cash option), just place your order and either give them a call or wait for them to call you. They're really good about calling to see if you will need change for cash or would prefer to pay via card over the phone. I got tied up once right as I placed my order and forgot to call. They called me within five minutes to ask if I needed change and what denominations I'd like the bills in. If you do pay with a card over the phone, they'll bring you a receipt to sign so that you know exactly what you're paying for. The delivery guy is always so kind, polite, and respectful. He had to ring the doorbell tonight because I wasn't where I could hear the door and he apologized for ringing the bell after 8pm. The Hamachi is so good. I could seriously eat it at least three times per week if I didn't think I'd end up the size of a house and have to double my insulin intake from the rice. Give them a try. Being in Central Oregon I am not expecting the food diversity or culture of larger cities. Prineville is even smaller than Bend and nearby Redmond. With that being said I am quite surprised that there is a sushi spot and a decent on at that in this town. The maguro nigiri was solid. The sushi rolls here are great and have a solid freshness to them despite being in the middle of Oregon. The bento boxes are a lacking a little bit but not to fault them at all. If you're looking for some solid decent Japanese style lunch I'd recommend going here in this town. read more

As soon as we stepped in the door, we were impressed already. I made sure to take photos right away and write a review for this new location, I'd been curious about it but still hadn't read any reviews of there yet, so I decided to judge it for myself! We walked through the long and spacious entryway to be promptly greeted and seated by our friendly host. We wore masks (as required) while we were inside and before we were seated. The staff were all wearing masks and had all seating spaces out perfectly for physical distancing. Moments later from being seated, we met our sweet waitress who brought us waters and got our drink orders. We went with some soft drinks today to go with our waters. They had a great selection on their menu of all sorts Japanese cuisine and our favorite, sushi! We immediately went for a go-to favorite of ours, the Dragon Roll, their Dragon Roll consisted of Shrimp, Cucumber, topped with Unagi (eel), and Avocado. It definitely did not disappoint!! We also ordered the Tiger Roll, Soft Shell Crab Roll, and the Shrimp Avocado Roll. They were all delicious and none of them lasted long on our platter. The wait staff was beyond attentive always offering more beverages for us and water, even after our plates were taken away. Had a pick up order last night of our favorite salmon and tuna sashimi with side of sunomono. Ready as promised on time. Did not disappoint ...only missing out on the ambiance of eating in the restaurant! I hope they get some containers to be able to add miso soup some day...I miss that part. Have been here twice now, my new favorite place in Prineville! Beautiful decor, comfortable seating, friendly staff, and amazing food! The huge menu offers so much more than their selection of cooked and uncooked sushi. They also have a wide variety of appetizers, seafood, noodles, and great drink menu offering a nice variety of saki. Everything was plated beautifully and was everything you would expect at an 'upscale' sushi restaurant. Also priced very reasonably. Can't wait to come back and try something new! read more

Very disappointed this evening. Waitress couldn't get the order right. Had to have another waitress finally came over and reordered. The order was simple - nothing special and no substitutions. Restaurant wasn't crowded, so serving us shouldn't have been difficult. Had to ask for a place setting and plates for our appetizer that arrived after our main course. I know it's a new business and there is a learning curve, but tonight I ordered a to go order, I was advised 40 min, so I showed up 40 min later, paid for the food and then continued to wait another 45 min before 3 items where brought out. No apologies, they didn't seem concerned with this at all, didn't offer a water while I waited, wouldn't make eye contact when I tried to find someone to ask a question and they were not even that busy. read more
