I brought my 2-year-old son, who has developmental sensitivities and is very fearful of haircuts, to this walk-in barber. He has sensory sensitivity to his head, so even gentle touch or having his head held can be uncomfortable or overwhelming for him. From the start, the staff seemed reluctant to help and didn't try to make him feel safe. No one introduced themselves, engaged with him, or offered support--he was treated like a nuisance.
When he became anxious (screaming, flailing), staff expressed concern for their own safety instead of coming up with a plan, and some even left the area. When I asked how they handle children with neurodivergence, the response was dismissive.
This was an unwelcoming and uncomfortable experience. My frustration wasn't with my child at all--I would not have been annoyed if they had treated him with patience and interacted with him--but the attitudes conveyed by the staff made the visit very stressful. I would not recommend this barber for parents of neurodivergent or sensory-sensitive children. Compassion and patience were completely lacking. read more
