Quick and efficient. Remember that one slice is a quarter pie, or the equivalent of two slices elsewhere, so unless you want a half pizza, stick to just one slice. The pizza here gets noticeably more of the smoky wood oven flavor than the Harvard location. read more

Burnt pizza! Ordered it to go and got it home and it was totally burnt. Wouldn't mind a little burning, but the whole pizza? I tried to call, but got a recorded message to order online. No way to let them know it is not okay to serve a burned pizza. I would have waited for a good pizza. Accidents happen. I heard several good things about Sorrento's while reading reviews of local takeout spots. I prompted my family to visit the Acton, Massachusetts one (the nearest to our house), and we've regularly been there for dinner since. As far as appetizers go, the fries are a bit above par (not the best, but good enough to get each time); the popcorn shrimp is excellent (especially for a place not right by the ocean); and the mozzarella sticks will rock your mouth (crispy crunchy outside and stretchy cheese inside). Pizzas' base (crust, tomatoes, and cheese) are a wonder that needs to be tasted to be understood, and the toppings make it even better (my dad is fond of the peppers, while I'm fond of the anchovies). Sandwiches are no slouch, either (my mom gets steak and cheeses often, while I like the parmigiana chicken subs). Recommended you give it a try; you just might find yourself a new favorite takeout location. read more

I like Sorrento's - the counter folks tend to be pleasant and easy to order from. The food for the last 5 years I've been going has been consistant and good- it's pizza, subs and pasta. I recommend the subs, personally. Their red sauce does tend to be on the sweet side, if that matters to you. They need to put their menu online- their website has been "being updated" for too long. Not their best work today. Spent $16 on 2 slices and a soda and when I asked about wifi (because cell service is horrible in the Acton / Concord area) I was told "no, not shared". This was after my two slices for "here" were up on the counter for a while as the 4 people worked there were standing around talking and not telling me it was up. A couple of months ago, I organized an outdoor pizza party for which I bought 5 large pizzas. All four varieties had plenty of toppings and everyone enjoyed them. However, last week, I order one large Sorrento Pizza and was very disappointed. The sauce was tasty, but there were only about 8 tiny sprigs of broccoli and maybe a dozen shreds of chicken. A few years back I changed jobs and now work much closer to this Sorrento's location, so I frequent fairly often with coworkers. I have to say that the only go-to item on the menu is still the tortellini pizza. Occasionally we will get a bunch of pies for the office and all of them except for the tortellini are pretty meh at best. Any pie with regular sauce and cheese is fairly flavorless and the slices are small. I can appreciate the brick oven taste and authenticity, but it really only is good if you're literally eating it fresh out of the oven. These pizzas do not sit well and are not very satisfying. My husband and I are NJ so we're very picky with bagels and pizza. Sorrento's is almost perfect. First, they have anchovies as toppings. No respectable pizza joint should leave out anchovies as toppings. They use really good sauce, and the consistency of their crust is almost perfect. There's one thing they don't seem to get right: the thickness of the outer crust. They make it really thin, which is impossible to do if they actually hand toss their pizzas. I don't think they know how to do actual hand tossing. Other than that, this is our go to pizza joint. read more
