I do not know many people I trust to get things done how I verbalize them. Rick is an exception, so let me explain what I wanted to do, the quality, and the execution. I had an idea to create some jean tote bags you get for free from YSL when you buy clothing (yes, I splurged because of my job; I landed and purchased something for myself, haha). I then got some pretty high-end zippers, one in gold and one in black. Not only was the job done DOPE AF, but it felt like you could buy them that way! The other thing was distressing some of my coveted jeans. It was challenging to trust Rick blindly, but with my minor update to him and some images I shared, his team came through! They look perfect, Rick provided some insights on fashion regarding what not to do, and it was perfect. IMHO, you want to avoid taking custom alternations to someone who doesn't get fashion, especially when it's a bit complicated (aka bespoke). I did a ton of research on custom tailors before settling on this place and I was not disappointed. They can make any suit you want and they have a million fabrics to choose from. Once your suit is made you'll come back for a fee more fittings to make sure you get a perfect suit fit. I loved my first suit and custom shirts so I went back and ordered additional shirts and another suit to round out my collection. If your like me and have no idea what you want I'd suggest bringing some photos of what your going for or letting the experts spruce you up! read more

My experiences at Soto & Co. have been phenomenal. As a queer person, it was really important to me to find a suit shop that was open, fun, and supportive of my suit building process for my wedding. Rick and team were absolutely all of those things and more. Rick was patient when I took an hour to decide which color green to select, and gave great suggestions along the way. Rick and Francis were also amazing tailors, and by my wedding day I felt so confident and badass in my suit. Like so many others, I ordered a suit online a few months before my wedding and it was less than optimal when it arrived. Baggy, the color was off...not what I was looking for. Extra bummer, because white suits for women aren't easy to come by and neither are tailors or custom designers who make suits for WOMEN! A Google search led me to Rick at Soto and Co and boy am I glad it did! He helped me every step of the way and never made me feel out of place or uncomfortable about not knowing much about suits (lapel, lining styles, cuts, etc.) I got the suit and was absolutely STOKED on it. After a few tailoring sessions, it was perfect. We had a small elopement ceremony but all our vendors (and people on their social media accounts) couldn't stop raving about my suit. It was fire, and felt fitted, feminine and exactly what I wanted for my big day. Not enough can be said about my excellent experience with Rick. I went to Rick because I wanted to flex at my wedding with a custom suit. I went to four other custom suit providers but Rick was the most welcoming and knowledgeable individual I met while prospecting my suit options. I had a hard-budget in mind, and Rick was accommodating the whole process. He showed me multiple options without being overwhelming. The quality and customer service I received with Rick was exceptional compared to Men's Wearhouse. I'd never had a custom suit made before (just visits to the tailor to tweak off the rack stuff) so I was a little intimidated at first. But Rick instantly made me feel welcome in his chill studio. He walked me through all the different parts of the suit and gave me space to explore what I wanted. It wasn't a small amount of money for me to spend on myself and I think Rick really empathized with that feeling. By the time I'd picked out all the custom elements, he had me feeling super confident about the final product. Rick and his team were also super communicative during the waiting period from initial consult to final fitting. If anyone reading this is currently planning a wedding, I'm sure you can relate. I was nervous about getting the suit on time, nervous about it having to be tailored, nervous about everything. But Rick always answered my questions in a timely manner with a ton of respect. I was given the gift of a custom suit by my siblings. I wear suits every day for work but they have always been off the rack. This was my first experience with getting a custom suit made. From the beginning, Rick was awesome. I met him at his studio where he took all my measurements and I picked out every single detail of my custom suit.
