I asked for Chicago mild sauce and informed that they were out. Picked up the order, got home, and it was bot like home (Chicago). I will NEVER spend my money here again, unless there are some major changes made!!! I try my best to support black owned businesses whenever I can, but this establishment doesn't deserve that level of support. This is my 3rd time eating here. The first time was great and that's why I keep coming back, but it's been all downhill since then. I tried to call the number listed on their Yelp page; let me save you the trouble. It's NOT the restaurant number. Fine. Head up there at 11:45 since the posted hours online say they open at 11am. The door is locked and there is a younger brown skin woman cleaning tables with a young man. Neither of them come to the door to tell me they're closed or what time they open. Instead, they're looking at me through the glass from 20 feet away making hand gestures like I was a peasant. I was so shocked I turned to leave and saw another woman who was waiting in her car and she told me that they had just done the same thing to her. You don't have hours posted outside the business, the phone number posted online is incorrect, AND the hours posted online are incorrect. The least you could do is come to the door and tell me you're closed & what time you open as if you value my business! It was so unbelievably rude and a disgusting way to treat people. Against my better judgement, I stayed to order. I was told it would be a 15 minute wait. I waited 35 minutes for my one plate and multiple people that had huge orders after me got their food first. Huh? Finally I am served, but the nightmare isn't over. I ordered an "extra meat" for $6, which was the pork chops. I thought since the pork chop dinner comes with two chops, that's what I would be getting. Wrong. I was given O-N-E pork chop. For $6. I understand that prices are going up everywhere, but that is ridiculous and now y'all are just purely taking advantage of people. Their prices are already VERY high ($19 for a wing plate!) but I usually pay my due and keep it moving, because the food was good. Until now. This was my first time trying their Mac n cheese. It was soooooo dry. Yuck. At least the spaghetti was good as usual. Then I went to take a bite of my wings that I waited 35 minutes for, and there were literally feathers all over my wings. Both the big thick feathers and the thin hair-like feathers, just everywhere. What the heck took so long for my food then, because they obviously were NOT cleaning the chicken. Just nasty!!! Nasty attitudes, nasty macaroni, and nasty nasty hairy chicken. Overall the food was good! Especially the green beans. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars is because of the customer service. They seem to be highly understaffed. The woman who takes your order also had 20 other tasks to do which had her all over the place. At one point she took a few orders. At one point she had to clean tables. At one point she was in the kitchen and no one was in the front taking orders causing the line to get long. The wait time for food was tooooooo long. You could tell customers were getting impatient. For her birthday, my granddaughter wanted take-away from the Humble truck location. I had never eaten there before. We both ordered the fried catfish. I had the baked beans and dirty rice for sides, she had the spaghetti. All the food tasted very good and the temperature was good, even after getting it home some 6-7 miles away. What was disappointing after opening the containers was it appeared that about 1/3 to 1/2 of my entree was missing. Thankfully, the birthday girl's dinner was complete with about twice as much fish as was in mine. When paying premium prices for take out you would hope for consistent, generous portions. At the very least what is pictured on their social media. This did not make a good first impression and my suggestion for anyone who goes here is to double check your food before you leave to make sure you get everything you ordered and paid for. read more
