"I'm a lucky man To have you in my life You make me feel so free Soulfully" (Jimmy Buffett) If you are on a plant-based diet or just want to try a plant-based meal, you sure won't go wrong by visiting SoulFully Vegan. Our first visit there was very good. They have plant-based takes on burgers, chicken, hot dogs and even seafood! Burgers seem to be their specialty, with five versions on the menu costing between $12-$17. I have to say, these burgers are huge, so you really get your money's worth. But if you're a competitive eater, you can get a double cheeseburger for $21.99. The different choices have lots of toppings and ingredients including plantains, a variety of nut butters, cheese, jelly, jalapeños, buffalo sauce, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions. We went with a Classic Burger ($12) with lettuce, tomato, cheese, grilled onions, and mayo house sauce, and it was really good. It was big, juicy, and sure tasted like a beef burger. A regular order of fries was $5, and quite honestly, it's too big a portion for one person. We shared it and had plenty for both of us. You order at a service counter, and we found Alisson to be very cheerful and fun to talk to. Our order was ready a few minutes later, and we went back to the counter to pick up our tray of food. The store's interior is a small place with very limited seating and just two small tables for two. We did notice a steady stream of customers picking up their on-line orders and getting back into their cars. Improvement Opportunities The restaurant was very cold inside, so cold that I had to put my coat back on. Also, I wish they had calorie counts/nutritionals available somewhere - either on their website or menu board.

2.27.24 This place has put me in a trance lately with their divine flavors and unique creations. I was here very recent with a Yelp event and I've been coming back for more lately since then. That tells you they're doing something right. They're so unbelievably cordial, warm & always welcoming for anyone who walks through their doors. This very small cozy clean spot always seems to have a slow simmer going on that seems like it's about to erupt at any moment. They've been semi busy to busy each time I've come here. The word seems to be out about them. The buzz that vegan food is good for anyone is out there. Their flavor profiles are very unique and new to me with vegan food being a new venture for me lately. Not only vegan but tl diving in and trying more and more lately. It's so wild to be the tastes and flavors that they come up with in their foods. I'm very pleasantly surprised and loving their food. The restaurant is small but it seems to be plenty for what they're doing. The vast majority seems to be pick up/take out and it works for them. Their food travels well and holds up to eating it about 15 minutes to a half hour after picking it up. That's been a rarity for me. Nice simple decorated restaurant. Extremely clean and well kept. You can see right into the kitchen which is nice and can see that it's a clean in there as the rest of the restaurant. Everyone's always kind each time I've been here. They know the true essence of hospitality. Treat others as you expect to get treated. The simple golden rule in life. Right?. It's not full service here because it's mainly takeout but that hasn't stopped them from giving stellar service in the level that they give. The soulful burger is my new favorite thing to eat here. There is lots of flavor going on here with the jersey sauce kicking it up a notch. The soulful burger is nice and wet and saucy. Just the way i like it. With loads of flavor and a lil up notch kicker. Love that flavor. It complements the sandwich well.

This has been my second time here and it's always wonderful service! Today I decided to order the Spicy Peanut butter and Jelly Burger except I ordered mine gluten free and not spicy! This burger is pretty popular! And I love sweet and salty so I figured I'd give it a go but I didn't love it! Not the burger itself but just the combo of it! I've had one of their other burgers and I Enjoyed it! I think I might need to stick to that next time ! Perhaps order the Big Boy! But I do love to try new things so why not! Soulfully Vegan has great burgers , a great menu , fun combinations and delicious fries! The fries are crisp , fresh and yummy! I sat outside as there a few chairs but mainly it's order to go ! I'm Glad I went again as I have been wanting to visit and have one of their burgers agains!

I love coming to this spot, nice atmosphere, great food and so many options! This time I decided to try the blue flame burger & cheese fries. It didn't disappoint me, I loved how the cheese fries turned out. Service was fast, not a long wait. Per usual!! My go to's is the soulful burger, big boy burger, & chocolate shake. This time i brought my mom with me for the first time and she tried the classic burger + fry.

As two meat-eaters, we were pretty skeptical coming into SoulFully Vegan for the first time - although I heard good things about their PB&J Burger. That of course, was the first thing we wanted to try...and let me just say we now understand the hype. If you can't already tell, everything here is vegan. Think fast casual but not your typical burgers & shakes. The owner, Allison, was nothing but welcoming and quickly told us and other guests about the menu and popular items as we walked in. There was a steady flow at lunch time on a Saturday but your food comes out quickly! We ordered the Spicy PB&J Burger, Chick'n Sandwich and a Chili Cheese Dog. The burger was my absolute favorite and we were told it's a beyond burger. Flavor combo spot on! I don't think I would be able to tell this wasn't meat if I didn't already know. The Chick'n Sandwich was so flavorful. I loved their "house sauce" that comes on it too! When we unwrapped it, I swear it was a McChicken dupe - but it's meatless?!? It doesn't quite taste like chicken, but the texture is spot on. It was pretty crazy! My husband loved the chili cheese dog! We also got a milkshake and I can't believe how much I drank before I remembered we were at a vegan spot. Mind blown! Whether you're a vegan, vegetarian, or carnivore... I highly recommend you stop and try what SoulFully Vegan has to offer. This is definitely going to become a takeout favorite for us. We'll be back for sure! 10/10.

I am not vegan, but this place is cute and clean, and the service is great, staff are friendly, and you can often find one of the owners there as well. I did not love the vegan chili cheese dog, but as a meat eater, you will not find me going out to get a regular hotdog either so that does not mean it's not good, it's just not something I'd order but my hubby wanted to try it so I ate a few bites to try it. LOL Hotdogs just really are not my thing. But boy, let me tell you about that spicy PBJ burger, I wish I got that the first time I went because now that I've had it, I think I am addicted to it. I don't know how it goes together, but it just does, and I highly recommend you leave the jalapeños on it. I was sad when I would read reviews or hear someone order the spicy PBJ without the jalapeño, then it's not even spicy anymore. the vegan shakes are also good and I think the first burger I tried was the soul burger and I loved that as well! I totally suggest you check out this place and support a local small business. They even recently started a rewards program, which I signed up for when I was there two visits ago. There are only two tables, but there's plenty of parking in the lot and you will see a lot of people in and out picking up food.

Let me tell y'all about Soulfully Vegan! So I managed to drag my skeptical hubby along, promising him an amazing meal. He had no clue it was a vegan place, so he was giving me major side-eye when we arrived. So fro myself I ordered - the sweet potato fries and the spicy PB&J burger. Can I just say, MIND BLOWN! That flavor combo was straight up genius. The sweet and salty fries with that kick of spice from the burger? Chef's kiss, my friends. Now, my doubtful man over here went for the double cheeseburger and chili cheese fries, still not realizing everything was plant-based. And let me tell you, watching his face as he took that first bite was PRICELESS. He was shook in the best way possible! Homie straight up demolished that burger and inhaled those chili fries like it was his last meal on earth. Vibes were also amazing. The open kitchen lets you see the magic happening, and let me tell you, these chefs are the real deal. They were so kind and passionate about their craft, you could taste the love in every bite. It's like they poured their hearts and souls into the food, and it shows. The atmosphere was just so warm and inviting, it felt like we were hanging out with old friends. In the end, we both left Soulfully Vegan with our bellies full and our minds changed. The food was so bomb, even the most stubborn meat-lover couldn't resist. 10/10 would recommend, and you best believe we'll be back for more! Trust me, this place is legit.

I've been to the Soulfully Vegan Food Truck before and reviewed my Vegan burger on their Food Truck Yelp page. Recently, they opened this Brick and Mortar in Berlin near my home. As you enter, you see a small room with a bit of seating, and an open window into the Kitchen. My eyes were drawn to Two Big Screen TV menus on a light colored wooden wall. Burgers. Dogs. Fries, plain and topped. Since I've had a burger from Soulfully Vegan, I steered to the Specialty Peanut Butter and Jellies portion of the menu. I ordered what I thought was a Specialty Biscoff Peanut Butter and Apricot Jelly sandwich. But what I got was a . . . Vegan Cheeseburger with Biscoff Peanut Butter and Apricot Jelly. After the fact, I understand my mistake. The specialty PB&J's are right next to to a picture of a Vegan Burger. So I'll take credit for that misunderstanding. In any event, I liked this better than how I remember the burger I ordered at the Food Truck. I'm not sure I would have intentionally ordered PB&J on a beef burger, but it worked well with the vegan patty, vegan cheese and even the pickle. The Kaiser style roll was fresh. The peanut butter and jelly was messy and tasty. This was a substantial vegan burger, and I could see ordering it again. The person who helped me was friendly and efficient. I had a very good experience. 4.5 Stars

It was Friday, during Lent; and having beeb indecisive about what to eat all day, I was hungry. Remembering that I had said I would return to Soulfully Vegan, these factors lead me back to their door. Wanting to expand my knowledge of their offerings, I chose the cheese dog, and the chilli cheese fries. The serve remains fast, and very friendly. There's no question I felt welcomed there. This did ease the pain of having paid nine dollars for a cheese dog that could be eaten comfortably in three bites. The taste? Um, let's just say we move on to the fries. You've been warned. Notice that a star has not been removed from this review, though. Yep, the chilli cheese fries were just that good. Now mind you, unless you want a dry cleaning bill costlier than the meal, you'll forgo reaching into the box as you drive. These fries are smothered in rich gooey cheese, and fully blended with somewhat spicy, well textured (plant) meat and beans. Try as I did, I couldn't find a "dry" fry in the box. Once again, the flavor did impress. The total meal came to twenty two bucks, which felt at bit steep, considering the dog was bland; however, having eaten here before, I left believing that had I been more selective, the cost would have been suitable.

Ordered on GrubHub and it was still good. Normally the quality can tank a bit when you order third party but I'm satisfied. I'm in town for work and decided I wanted a break from the raw plant based life and wanted to see what the area had to offer. I'm glad I chose Soulfully Vegan. As I sit here about to burst open, I reminisce on the flavors (that's dramatic I just finished eating literally 2 minutes ago lol). Anyway, the food was delicious. I loved that the menu online tells you what does and does not have soy, nuts and gluten. I was able to make informed decisions and I appreciate that. I ordered a classic with raw onion instead of grilled they seemed a little grilled like they realized the request after the fact, but it was still good. I received two orders of chili cheese fries, one with the chili on the side (as requested) and one with chili atop. I assume they noticed the request and gave me both since it was near closing. The chili alone was delicious, the cheese sauce was really good and had no aftertaste which I love because vegan cheeses can be iffy. I'd order again, especially since I see they have soy and nut free hot dogs and I didn't get to try it yet. Can't attest to the ambiance because I had it delivered but I do want to stop in before I leave.

I stopped by soulfully vegan at 7:45 when they close at 8 PM I was driving by and wanted to try it out. It's a very cute little waiting area with a few stools and a table and chairs. It's a fast food restaurant. They serve beyond burgers, gardien chik'n and field roast hotdogs. I ordered the soulful burger and the chik'n sandwich. The soulful burger has jerk sauce andplantains with cheese. I bought this for my Jamaican husband. And his comment was, "it taste like Jamaica. I took a bite and it tasted delicious. That is the next thing I'm going to order for myself when I return.. I really enjoyed the chik'n sandwich as well, it has lots of fresh vegetables very flavorful and a nice and soft Roll. , I was very happy with my order. I would give them a try..

This is an exclusively vegan small biz pushing the American food fare boundaries with vegan forward eats and a whole lotta soul! It's natural to be curious about the most unique menu item, which for me was their Spicy PB&J "Burger" and it didn't disappoint! We also got the Big Boy Burger and another winner - Big Dog (hotdog) all of this covered in vegan bacon, cheese, jalapeños and amazing flavor! Omgosh and don't forget the fries! The sweet potato fries were some of the best I've had in a long time and I upgraded to their oat milk based cheese fries!! Award winner right there! thank you for having us and wishing you all the best!

I live in NC so when we drive to CT, Three Girls Vegan is a must-visit. Some of my favorite options are: the "clam" strips, chik'n bowl with mashed potatoes (it recreates the KFC bowl really well), Caesar salad, eggplant pesto rolls, and the chocolate donuts. I love going in after picking up my to-go order waiting outside because their bakery section isn't on the online menu, so I might add a few extra desserts while I'm there. Until ten years ago, Bloodroot was stuck in the last century, still clinging to cow's milk products on its menu, thereby supporting a dairy industry that cruelly exploits the females of the species. This feminist collective's transition into veganism was long overdue. I have dined at Bloodroot over thirty times in the past 40-years, during which the building and décor have little changed. Historic indeed. Its menu, however, changes both seasonally and almost daily depending upon what produce is available. On some occasions, I have been treated to memorable meals that rival even the most expensive vegan restaurants of Manhattan. But sometimes the food did not rise above the level of my own home cooking, so I was better off staying home. You just need to choose wisely. One change in décor has occurred in its adjoining bookstore. In the age of Amazon, it has morphed into more of a reading library with comfy couches that encourage you to browse through the books. On one table and one shelf, some used books, mostly pertaining to the subjects of feminism or vegetarianism, can indeed be purchased, but that selection is small compared to the other shelves crowded with books intended only for perusal. While the three earlier Bloodroot cookbooks are out of print, its current volume is in print and so offered for sale. Another change. In the past, you were usually greeted by Selma Miriam, who cofounded Bloodroot with her business and life partner, Noel Furie. But Selma won't be greeting us anymore. She died last February at age 89. Tributes and obits filled Connecticut news media, and she was accorded a lengthy obituary in The New York Times. I would be remiss if not sharing an ill-fated personal anecdote. Under the guise of required membership to some obscure historical society, this feminist collective used to reserve one night a week for admission to women only. On one such members-only night in 1988, a luminary of the animal rights movement and I had arrived right after broadcasting his animal rights talk show on WPKN-FM on which we announced we were heading to Bloodroot right after the show, essentially promoting the restaurant on the noncommercial radio station. Selma knew us both, but cordially turned us away. Despite our begging, she refused to serve us even outside and out of sight. I felt like a Black in Jim Crow South denied a seat at the lunch counter. While I don't recall the woman after whom the historical society was named, it should have been called, The Jim Crow Historical Society. Presently filling roles both at the front and the back of the house, Noel (in my photo, depicted standing) is one busy woman. And Bloodroot is beginning a new chapter in its CookBook of Life. In case you're wondering about the meaning of its sanguinary name that may seem contradictory for a vegetarian restaurant, the bloodroot is a wildflower native to New England whose roots sprout up all around it with flowering shoots. But this iconic Bloodroot in Bridgeport stands alone.

We decided to go to Love it Vegan before a show at The Warner (it is directly across the street)…read moreand were absolutely thrilled with our meal! My husband and I are not vegan, but I am seriously lactose intolerant and limit animal products for health reasons. We brought my brother-in-law who has a serious dairy allergy. The staff was amazing. You felt welcome the second you sat down. They were so kind to my brother-in-law (who has special needs) and happily explained and accommodated him without a second thought. It's beyond comforting to have an entire menu we don't have to worry will cause an allergic reaction. The food was excellent. As I said, we are not vegan, but we will be returning time and time again. The honey mustard and fries may be my new favorite comfort food. They were perfection! I had the steak and cheese and it was in awe of the flavor AND a great cheese on top. The strawberry cupcake I would get a million more times. Simple and sweet. The restaurant collaborated with JP Farm Sanctuary so you can see the pictures of their animals hanging around the restaurant. There is also local art. Very impressed. This was BEYOND needed in Litchfield County.

Delicious juice blends to start. Amazing buffalo cauliflower - our server said it was the best and we agree! Not the soggy, dough-laden stuff you normally get. Crisp and light and wonderful buffalo sauce. Fried oyster mushrooms - great! We had a mix of sandwiches - all great! French fries - so good! Chocolate peanut butter pie - fantastic! My vegan daughter was delighted as were the non- vegans. Also very allergen friendly. And just really the nicest, most helpful and friendly staff. Wish we lived closer!

Merely peckish, we didn't order as much as we ordinarily would have. However, what we did order hit the spot, and resoundingly so. We ordered one cup of tom yum with coconut milk, one cup of tom yum with clear broth, spring rolls, and chive patties. The tom yum with coconut milk was almost like a curry: very filling and creamy. The tom yum with clear broth was spicy, with every sip bursting with flavour. The portions were absolutely gigantic, and we had plenty left over. The spring rolls were perfectly hot and perfectly crispy. The filling was also delicious. The chive patties were also fried to a crisp, and were my favourite item on the menu. The food took a relatively long time to come, but service was very friendly. The ambiance was warm, with some interesting East Asian artwork. I'm always excited about all-vegan places, just because I can eat everything listen on the menu and don't have to parse carefully to figure out what I can consume. Simultaneously, I hold these establishments to high standards: such restaurants need to be truly exceptional to thrive. My dining partner and I were delighted with our experience at Aroy, and hope to return when we're next in Connecticut.

There is ample free parking behind the building too. I was the only vegetarian in the group but the others loved it too! One friend ordered a banana dessert at the beginning of the meal! The presentation was excellent as it was served in a stemmed glass with a big swirl of whipped cream on top! She said it was delicious too! I ordered a Thai basil stir fry and one friend ordered the cashew stir fry. Both came with a side of white rice. My other friend ordered a big soup however I can't remember which one. We all absolutely loved all of our food! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. I will definitely come back as the menu is full of delicious sounding vegetarian food that I need to try!

Their menu when I visited them at Coles Road Brewing in Berlin consisted of specialty hot dogs, build your own hot dogs, seasoned and topped tots, quesadillas and wraps. I ordered a hot dog with house kraut and spicy brown mustard and Ranch seasoned tots. Service was friendly and efficient. The tots were very good and they had a good crispy outer texture. The seasoning was flavorful. I was told that Rescue Dogs uses Sabrett dogs, which was not a name I knew. Sabrett makes at least a skinless beef Frank and a natural casing dog. I think this was the natural casing dog because I can see a skin in my pic. Sabrett is associated with New York hot dog styles and I saw that it has performed very well in taste tests against other national brands. I thought the dog had good flavor, but it wasn't as snappy as I like at least as cooked on this night. The kraut and mustard were both fairly good, but didn't stand out relative to my favorite area spot. I understand that Rescue Dogs is based in Wolcott and I've seen them on the Coles Road schedule a few times. Rescue Dogs is worth checking out, especially in light of the causes they support. 3.75 Stars
