This took a ton of weight off my shoulders as far as planning went. Hector's smile/energy as an MC is also pretty contagious. He has a presence at the event when he makes announcements and prompts things to keep moving. He also checked on me and my partner throughout the night to help keep us up to speed. And let me tell you this: Mark and Hector were able to keep people (young and old) dancing throughout the night. They have a great "feel" for vibes and adapt to what's going on. PICTURES DON'T LIE. That should have been the red flag, but we had already booked and provided him with a detailed, outlined itinerary and carefully curated playlists for arrival, dinner, and dancing. Unfortunately, he ignored almost everything we gave him. * He played the same song ("That's Amore") FOUR times during arrival. * He messed up our first dance by playing the wrong version of Grow Old With You. * He played the wrong song for our bridal party entrance. * Out of the 4+ hours of dance music we hand-selected, he played maybe 10 songs we actually picked. The rest completely killed the vibe of the party. To make things worse, he told my husband during the reception that he had another event to go to and planned on leaving two hours early (we hired him until midnight). After the dance floor had already died, he finally decided to play two songs from our list -- way too late to matter. This DJ was unprofessional, disrespectful, and flat-out failed to do the job we hired him to do. He ruined key moments of our wedding day, ignored our playlists, and disrespected our time and money. From our initial phone meeting to giving them a big, huge hug at the end of the wedding night--every interaction in between was professional, competent, but most of all, like being with a true friend who we felt really cared about us. As fate would have it, Arlene is also a wedding planner and although we did not hire her for this in an official capacity, she went way above and beyond regular dj/emcee duties by not only giving us pointers and warning us of potential pitfalls, but on the day of our wedding she actually directed foot traffic during the ceremony, which was truly invaluable since we did not have a dress rehearsal the day before. Not an easy task as our parents don't understand English all that well. She and her husband Steffon work so well together that it's a little creepy how they can anticipate each other's moves and read each other's minds as the night goes on. There were zero* snags in the wedding and we have them to thank for it. They may be priced a bit higher than the competition, but with them you absolutely get what you pay for and the peace of mind we had in the weeks leading up to the wedding alone made everything absolutely worth it. Zero regrets other than not booking them sooner. Arlene's voice is beautiful and distinct and I am supremely confident you and your guests will fall in love just like we all did. Oh, where to start...? Arlene, arlene, arlene - if you didn't know that I married my husband you…read moremight think I was gay. Seriously, I love this girl. It is because of her that we chose Sound Fusion for our entertainment. We caught them in passing at a bridal show in Las Vegas and it was seriously like love at first sight (for me). First and foremost, I was looking for a DJ/Emcee that would not wear a bowtie or a shiny vest, or start yelling at my guests to try and take over the reception, or start playing YMCA or The Macarena. If that isn't reason enough to go with Sound Fusion... Why Arlene and Sound Fusion? If you ever have the pleasure of meeting this crew I would be extremely surprised if you weren't blown away by Arlene on the spot. She was charismatic, outgoing, and genuinely interested and excited about what she does. When I called her for the first time after the bridal show, which mind you was almost 4 months later, we talked for almost 2 hours! She wasn't trying to "sell" me on Sound Fusion - we just talked about wedding plans in general: where I was in the process, what vendors I had already lined up, etc. It was like I had found a "soul mate" in the best friend sense from another life. Upon booking Sound Fusion, Arlene wasted no time in getting the process rolling. From setting meeting dates, to song lists, and even making sure I secured the rest of my vendors in a timely manner, Arlene was super-organized through the entire process. I think the best thing about Sound Fusion is how down to earth they are. They have a ton of clients at any given time, but somehow they make you feel like you're their only one. Not only that, it's a family-owned business - Arlene and her husband Steffon are the ones who started it all. I met them together at our first meeting and you could tell that not only did they pour their heart and soul into their business, but that they were each others rocks - keeping each other steady. They had also been through the wedding planning process themselves not too long before us - so could totally relate to all the stresses and choices that had to be made. Arlene also runs an event planning business, which if I had extra money I would have hired her for as well. But, this was just an added bonus in a DJ because her organizational skills are off the charts. A good dj is able to emcee an event and play music that gets people dancing. A great dj is able to do all this and help the wedding go as smooth as silk - which she did! Prior to the wedding, she coordinated with all of my vendors to make sure that everyone had a timeline of the wedding - which is huge for staying on track, especially when you have surprises for the guests built in. She even had a couple surprises for me up her sleeve, which just made the whole experience that much more fun and memorable. I could go on and on about Arlene and Sound Fusion but I'm sure I've babbled enough. Just don't be surprised if you blurt something out like "Just DJ like you're my sister!" or when you're welcomed into the Sound Fusion Family.

Steve was the referred DJ by our venue, so of course we used him. Days leading up to the wedding he really hyped himself up on the phone & promised us he would make our wedding unforgettable, we did just the opposite. He told our videographer he has two different systems a "good system" & a "bad system ", well he had our entire ceremony hooked up to this "bad system " & none of our guests could hear the ceremony. Then during our speeches he handed us the microphone to the "bad system", we had to finally ask him half way through the maid of honor speech for the better working microphone that he uses because you couldn't hear anything & he was very hesitant to do so because he is scared of Covid. We just recently had to completely refilm the best man speech because we couldn't pick any of it up in our wedding video that's how bad this system is. Not only did all of this happen but every time a guest would request a song he told them it had to be approved by either the bride or groom & we never ever said that. We were requesting music & some of the songs had swearing & he said he couldn't play music like that because we had old people & kids at our wedding & it looks bad on the DJ, but it was never in the contract did it state that those are rules or guidelines. It our wedding, not yours. During our final dance he played the wrong version of the song & when I talked to him about it he said "I don't really know Justin Bieber songs" so wouldn't he have wanted to make sure he had the right version of the song before the wedding? The worst part is he knew about these issues & never reached out to apologize or try to make things right. I had to call him 3 weeks after our wedding & bring everything up to him. We had a 30 minute phone call & it was yelling back & forth. He told me "I have been a nightmare since the beginning " but I only talked to him 2 times before our wedding & I was never a nightmare. We practically had to beg him to make things right & he agreed to make things right but was more worried about a bad yelp review than making everything right. We had agreed to edit the yelp review my husband left & make it clear he was going to fix things once everything was fixed, well he told us "I could make things right & you won't edit that review, I just know you wont". Steve was also taken off of our venues referred vendors list & he blamed us for that because it just so happened it was after our wedding. He will talk up his game on the phone & then when it comes to how he performs he will let you down. But he informed me he was a Christian & will do whatever it takes to fix things because that's what a Christian man does, but he didn't do that at all. Well it came time to refilm everything & Steve emailed us "good faith" document saying we would not leave any bad reviews on yelp or Google or anything. I laughed, I'm not signing this document. This man did not care about making things right he just wanted the bad review gone. So Steve DID NOT correct his mistake & when I called him to tell him we were no longer going to need him to fix anything, he didn't even hesitate to say "Okay" he was totally fine for us paying for his mistakes. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE! I'm so glad Lotus House took him off the list of vendors so nobody else has to experience what we did.
