I would rate this place 1000/10 if I could. I have never been to South Dakota before this trip, and wow a wonderful tour and a place I could see my son being apart of. He is only in the 7th grade but I am going to make sure he plays for their football team one day. After the tour, I signed him up for football...I can't wait to watch him grow into the best football player SDSU is ever going to see. Even though basketball didn't work out for him, I can tell that football will. I even played catch with him when we got back home and he almost caught the ball. Football star in the making. Mark. My. First of all, before I start my review Scott b. USD and SDSU are two different schools. This is SDSU. My daughter and I had toured several schools, GW, UChicago, American, George Mason and some other top schools in the country and I would say that we walked away so pleasantly surprised. She is looking for a Bio Chemistry Major. WE arrived and the whole tour was catered to her needs. It was incredibly organized and went above and beyond answering questions and guiding her. They set up two appointments the Biology department and Biochem director that gave her a personalized tour of lab rooms and the building she would be spending most of her time in. The other schools had the group Tour approach. They also scheduled her with a counselor that answered campus life and honor benefit questions. They did give her a small group/student tour that was so also very impressive. This school is one of the top pharmacy schools in the country. We love the community feel of the school too. We walked away highly impressed and will consider for one of the schools high on the list. It was truly fantastic! read more

I have experience at a number of midwestern colleges and universities. Rest assured that SDSU is one of the best. Some of the others might have more flash or more amenities, but they don't provide the cost to education ratio or hands on experiences you get at SDSU. Looks like many of the negative reviews are either for an entirely different college (which answers more questions than it asks) or for someone who failed to make the grade. This college was great before President Dunn and I have no doubt that with him at the helm it's going to become amazing. read more

Just visiting for an award and scholarship banquet. Nice campus and close to student friendly amenities. Chatted with a Student in the Dairy science program who was extremely complimentary of the faculty. I think her words were that they cared about us as individuals. It was heart felt and sincere. My question was a more general one. She also commented that she did not feel the same from two other schools that she had attended that were similar in size. The community is quaint but very friendly. The best indicator of the community that I give for comparative purposes is that I have not ever seen a Walmart Store that I would ever come close to describing as immaculate. read more

This university has many colleges. I cannot speak for all of them, but I will say that many social science are awful to go into a program for at this university. read more
