John's is a great place to sit and be part of the conversation led by John with other customers. John has a good historical knowledge of Fernandina. His dad retired after working in the shop for 42 years. My first time and it did not feel that way as I was included as if I was a regular. Now to the haircut. John is a craftsman who takes his time. His attention to detail is very good. I watched other customers come out of the chair pleased at John's skill. I was pleased with my haircut and all the things I learned. I will go back.

Like my barbershop to be lively with good conversation and a quality haircut. Well this place did not meet up to my needs. Two barbers in this location. The barber that did my haircut did not talk, strike one. My chair was turned away from the mirror so I could not see the haircut as it progressed, strike two and after the cut was done there was no check in with me to see if I was satisfied, strike three. Paid my 15 gave a $5 tip and I was out the door.. I will not be returning to the silence of this barbershop.
