Beautiful Christmas Day Mass, spoiled by a row of uneducated young people talking through the whole…read moremass, looking at their cell, and a very old couple whose cell kept ringing and they didn't how to turn the cell off. Lol! The priest gave a very heartfelt homily and service. The Altar was simple, festively decorated with Poinsettia, Ferns, Pine Cones. The Nativity is on the other side of the Altar. The Choir headed by a lady with a very nice voice sang the Mass and also Christmas Carols. The best was their rendition of the Little Drummer Boy. It was a comforting way to celebrate Christmas Day.

Through the years since my first yelp review since I started on a journey to find a home church…read moreafter having relocated here, from time to time persons would query me if I had found a home church, and my response would have to be, no, I had not. Well, now I can say yes, I have. It goes by two names El Redemptor church for Spanish crowd, and University Assembly of God for English crowd, which is the crowd I fall into, though I have gone to both, but my fluency is English and my search was for an English-speaking church. What has made me feel that way is the staff, preachers and congregants, the building and location, and how the services are run. Pretty much ticks off everything, right? OK what do I like about the church building and service: first off never do they use special effects or mood lights. You go into church it is regular lighting. The church inside is small modest size so it feels intimate in a good way. Church itself is easy to get into, has its own parking lot where they are lax about also using their lawn for more parking, which already is a tip-off that it is about accommodating the people here at this church in truth, you will firsthand experience a lot of examples of the love of Christ here we should be doing. Which brings me to the next like: people here are humble, preachers, staff, as serving Christ is what drives everybody there. You will not find celebrity egos there or arrogance, or partiality, now that last one is hard to find not working inside of many churches, cliques are not at this church, no, really, I am not kidding, pinch yourself it is true. Another like: Their heart is genuinely after pleasing God. Sincerely, they are not after Nielsen ratings, or pleasing banks for the agenda of mega loans for schemes of building mega-church to outdo all mega-churches. You will not find that here: their top goal is having annual drives to raise funds for things like equipping poor pastors in Cuba who need donkeys to travel the remote mountainous areas to preach the good news, going to South America to personally hand out toys to the poor children with the goal to evangelize to their families win souls for Christ, in all honestly things that have modest financial tags that would shame many of these churches expecting patrons to hand over minimum of $1000 per service for keeping their private jets fueled. This you will not find at this church. Another like: sit down, this may be too shocking to take standing up, but I can vouch it is true. Everybody is given the same help, the same prayers, the same open doors, the same care no matter your ability or lack thereof to tithe. You will not receive hate dagger eyes for lacking money, you will not be put behind the person who has their own parking space with their name on it, you will not be ignored for prayer needs, you will never feel resentment, and when they do their offerings, they do it sharing the upbeat reasons God blesses and stress the cheerful giver. I believe in tithing, but sometimes times get hard that only embarrassing amounts are what one can give - the kind of treatment you would get if that happened to you, is the kind of treatment they would give to themselves if they were in such a hard space: you will not be judged, but you will be edified, big difference. Which brings me to the next like: this church is dedicated to preaching after the heart of God, not man. They are interested in the welfare of your soul, to give you sermons that will lead you to heaven based on fidelity to the Bible. In fact the senior pastor preached recently the best word in a sermon I have ever heard in person because he held nothing back biblically, kept to it accurately that was the most important thing to him. Yes! Finally a preacher who takes seriously what God said in Malachi: one who walks in a fear of God and like Levi, true instructions is on his lips. And the other preachers practice the same seriousness to the word as the senior, though just from the senior's pastor's preaching, of all the churches I have been to locally, that kind of passion for accuracy to God's word is what makes me call this my home church. Preaching like this has come from late David Wilkerson I mentioned in my first review, and Pastors like Steve Hill they preached the word of God that saves. During this pandemic they are busy giving foods to families, and always praying. It is a family-oriented church, even so, if you don't have children of school age, and you are a senior, you will be welcomed there, you will not find partiality in any shape or form, everyone is treated like family. So to sum it up: they are a humble church, church is treated like church and not a nightclub including reverential dress, every individual who walks into there is truly recognized, truly prayed for, truly remembered when you come back again, neither age nor income a measure.
