16 April, 2023 Dr. Jessica has been my veterinarian now for almost two years and I'm excited to share an updated report with you. (Read my other post to see why and how I found her in the first place.) As I mentioned in my last post, my two fur babies and I live in Ohio but without a shadow of doubt I can attest to the fact that Dr. Jessica is THE BEST veterinarian there is, hands down!!!, and the following is yet another testimony as to why "we" jump in the car and drive ten hours to Missouri to see her. Yes, I have a local vet but he understands that Dr. Jessica is at the helm calling the shots and he's comfortable with that. Dr. Jessica always takes her time to thoroughly discuss and evaluate the pet's lifestyle, food, water etc. and to address any issues or concerns the pet parent may have. She leaves no stone unturned. Several months ago, the "local" vet, a traditional mainstream medical doctor, did a routine exam including a radiograph and saw a spot in my little girl's lungs. He consulted with the radiologist and both agreed that Amelia (black bunny in photo) should be put on steroids, radiation, have surgery to remove the spot, or do nothing. These were the options given me; none of which I agreed to. Immediately, I consulted with Dr. Jessica. We reassessed Amelia's diet, supplements taken, environment, type of water she drinks, etc. Doc "tweaked" a few of the supplements Amelia is on. I also have an O3 (ozone) machine at home and give myself and my girls treatments. Immediately she adjusted Amelia's O3 treatments. Doc also put Amelia on Sparemectin (a form of Ivermectin). Long story short, I am VERY happy to report that last week when we went to see Dr. Jessica, she took xrays of Amelia's chest. Doc showed me the xray and THE SPOT IS GONE; Amelia's lungs are totally clear (normal). Xrays don't lie! I would also like to add that my girls are mature bunnies; Paisley (brown bunny) is nine and Amelia (black bunny) is eight. In the past, both girls had exhibited signs of cataracts developing in their eyes. (In vet terminology they call it "immature/stable".) Dr. Jessica and I discussed this; I did some research to find what is available to help pets who are dealing with cataracts and found an article written by a veterinary ophthalmologist who has a PHD in her field. She developed an eye drop called Advanced Lanosterol Solution + NAC. (I buy it on Amazon.) I showed the product and the reviews to Dr. Jessica and she gave me a regimen to follow. The very first thing Dr. Jessica said to me when we visited with her last week was how impressed she is with the improvement in my girls' eyes. The cataracts have greatly diminished and are almost gone. Dr. Jessica has her degree in veterinary medicine as well as her bachelor's and master's in chemistry and continually pursues further education to help improve the quality of life for our precious babies yet she's very down to earth and approachable. As I mentioned in my last post, I've been a "bun mom" for 25 years and have had my share of go-arounds with vets. Dr. Jessica is a rare gem I am SO glad to have crossed paths with. I trust her explicitly with my babies! I highly encourage you to give yourself and your furbaby the gift of having such a remarkable woman in your life! By the way and something to think about ..... I realize a lot of you reading this post may not be able to physically travel to Rolla to see Dr. Jessica. She also does phone consultations. My local vet assesses the situation, nothing may exist or something may warrant a second opinion and, either way, gives me his recommendation. I then call SSAC, make an appointment to have a phone consultation with Dr. Jessica and forward any paperwork, health issues, questions, etc to her for her review. During the phone consultation she then advises me as to how "we" can approach the issue and move forward toward healing or if everything is "good to go" we address how to maintain that good report!! You will never, hands down, find a more knowledgeable, caring, down to earth person as Dr. Jessica. Our Wire Fox Terrier began having multiple seizures in April of 2022 that were caused by a Meningioma tumor in her brain. After discussing the options with our Vet we decided to have surgery to remove the tumor and then follow that procedure with 20 sessions of radiation. Our hope was to give her and us a few more quality years together, however our expectations had to be tempered knowing that statistics showed that these procedures may only extend her life for short time......maybe 1 1/2 years to 2 years. The surgery and radiation were very hard on our little girl, but she did recover completely, and she was perfect for a year.......then out of nowhere another seizure in the middle of the night, that was August 2023. We already know what the problem was knew we were not going to put her through the same procedures again, so we looked for other treatment options for her condition. We began investigating taking a holistic approach to her treatment and that is how we met Dr. Jessica. Dr. Jessica was very thorough in her examination and in reviewing her medical history and then sat with us explaining some treatment options. The treatment plan included a change of diet, supplements to strengthen her immune system, detox her organs, cool her body and hopefully stop the tumor from growing further or possibly even to shrink it. Ozone treatment was also part of the plan. Fast forward to today and we are now 2 years post-surgery and nearly a year on the Dr. Jessica's treatment plan and Mila is acting like a 2-year-old. She has an incredible amount of energy and always asking to play, eating great, sleeping great and even more loving if that were even possible! One thing to also mention Mila was prone to gastrointestinal problems and we nearly lost her to pancreatitis a few months after her surgery/radiation. Since starting Dr. Jessica's treatment plan, I cannot remember her having mild diarrhea more than once or twice. We could not be more thankful to Dr. Jessica and her incredible team for the care they have given our baby....and Mila thanks us every morning when she wakes us up a thousand kisses! read more

We had an amazing experience! Another vet diagnosed our beloved 7 year old lab with a torn ACL. Immediate surgery was highly recommended. Instead, I found South Side Animal Clinic in Rolla. My dear pet was completely healed without surgery. I happily drove to and from Rolla for several weeks for her treatment. I would do the same thing all over again. Wish I could leave a negative review. Horrible vet! Very sketchy and strange. Unhelpful to pets. I've brought many here and had bad experiences. I brought in a stray kitty that I assumed was covered head to toe in ticks. The vet looked at him and said he was fine, left the room and came back and I mentioned again that it looks like ticks in his ear, she sighed and looked in them and said that was a ton of ticks in his ears. If i had not mentioned it they would have let him go home with ticks in his ears. When I took one of my dogs here they misdiagnosed her with Addisons Disease and prescribed her useless meds, diet specific food, and supplements. They just want money! They also were unhelpful with my dog with an enlarged heart! The dog they misdiagnosed with Addisons I had issues with speaking to the vet, I called a few times to see what the issue was and an explanation. They notified the other person on the dogs records that they will no longer contact me about MY DOG! When calling about my dog with an enlarged heart who had passed away due to it, I got hung up on and ignored multiple times by the Lady Candy! She's horrible and rude. You do not hang up on someone that you work for. Plus someone asking about what they did to "help" my dog who just passed away. Gosh I wish I could make this review longer. DO NOT GO TO SOUTH SIDE ANIMAL CLINIC. They also just emailed me saying they will no longer answer any of my questions how unprofessional! read more

Very good people who truly care about animals. My dog was hurting and in pain, I had no where to take her I called every vet in a 100 mile radius of me and everyone said no. My dog needed immediate attention and South Side took her right in. You're vulnerable when you have a pet that you love and you bringing in there I explain to them that I was on a tight budget and I was a senior citizen. They wanted to do bloodwork on my dog that had hurt his neck and there was no reason for it. I refused it but I still ended up with the bill over $400 and the results were my dog died the next day. I'd rather someone be straight up and tell me they don't know they don't think he's gonna make it then to make me go through this. If you go there beware that they're going to try to talk you into everything. I would've went to my regular vet but her machine was down for x-rays in the x-rays that this vet took We're had to read you really didn't see the neck area where that was the problem. I had my dog for 11 years and he was a good companion. When you go there don't think with your heart think with your brain and money. I don't blame the staff they are just being told what to do and doing their job. read more
