We usually do our groceries in South Supermarket. One of their staff went out of their way just to get us some wansoy / coriander after telling him that we really needed some upon seeing that there was none to be found on the shelves. I really appreciated that.
The place is well organized, has a good selection of food and drinks, has a good selection of vegetables and everything else. Their section for alcohol is also not bad and has an okay selection (although I've seen better; but this one is decent). I like that there are a lot of cashiers available for you to line up which makes the checking out a bit easier, faster, and efficient. All I can say about South Supermarket is that I'd rather do my groceries here because of the way it is organized and because they have a pretty good selection of things. It's a solid supermarket overall.
South Supermarket is not just a supermarket. On the same building, there is a Mercury Drugstore, some restaurants, a golf shop, Mr. Quickie (for shoe repairs), and also a bakery and deli. What I like also in South Supermarket are the small stands along the exit where you can buy roast chicken, lechon, and a few other things. Meanwhile, upon checking out of the supermarket with your things, you can find there a place that sells coffee that you can pick and have roasted on the spot, Vargas Kitchen (for those with a sweet tooth), a stall that sells nuts, a watch repair, and a picture frame shop among others.
Overall, South Supermarket is probably the best place to do your groceries if you live in the South or in the Alabang area. You can also find a lot of food stalls, restaurants, shoe repair, watch repair, and even a drugstore among others here. read more
