You truly feel safe with paths with signs. Lots of people hiking, walking, jogging here, some with their dogs too. There is a small parking lot to leave the car and your belongings before heading into the trails. There are no bathrooms here. But bonus, there is a fully accessible pathway for those who have limited mobility to enjoy the forest also! What a cool inclusive feature that I wish was in more nature zones. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the forest is very close to the roads, lot of traffic noise and there was even a concert playing nearby when I went that day which really was cool music but ruined the vibe of my forest walk. I wanted to hear nature sounds and trees but instead I got rock music lol. I would visit this place again and hope next time no concert is being played!

It was a windy and chilly autumn day with the orange leaves and green grass contributing to an overall magical feel. In the time I spent strolling around the park I was the only one about and about on foot. A large grassy area was encircled by a paved path with trees closer to the edges of the park. Benches speckled along the paved walkway provided places to sit. A cluster of amenities abutted a tree-covered hill with small trail system. Included was a covered picnic table area, a playground, and a swing set with swings both for the young kiddos and more adult size. It was a pleasant place to go for a stroll.

It was quite full on a Saturday afternoon but we managed to get a spot. The other side has more parking lots as that's where more activities are - swimming pool, disc golf course, lacrosse box, and sports field. We were closer to Lost Lake, so we started our walk from there. I liked how there were trail markers along the way, with maps at major intersections so you could find your location. We did the interlaken trail from Lost Lake to Mundy Lake, followed by the lakeside loop around Mundy Lake. Then we did part of the Perimeter trail back to Lost Lake and out of the park. The map looks big and quite daunting to walk. But it is a pretty easy walk but mostly flat ground. I love the trees and fall foliage. I learn there is a big leaf maple tree and the leaves are huge. Bears live in the park and we didn't see any. We also didn't see any painted turtles, which live in Lost Lake area. There are lots of fungi and mushrooms growing on the tree trunks. The off leash dof trail is also nearer the Lost Lake entrance. Maybe that's why we saw more people with dogs parked there. This is my new favorite park to walk. The longest trail is the Perimeter trail at 4km round trip. The others are 1 km to 1.5 km.

Parks with food options is nice for folks like me who wants to stay in this park longer and didn't pack any picnic foods. Huge parking lot is available for free but parking spots could be challenging on weekends and busy event days so do budget time accordingly for parking.

take me out to the ball game…read more there's something wonderfully nostalgic about spending an evening at nat bailey stadium. near queen elizabeth park, the stadium has been home to the vancouver canadians for decades and has that old school minor league baseball feel that makes a game here about much more than what's happening on the field. tonight's matchup was the vancouver canadians versus the tri-city dust devils, and the whole evening had that easy, family oriented, community feel you want from a baseball game. no need to dress up, no need to make a big production out of it. just grab a seat, settle in, and let the game happen around you. we weren't particularly hungry at 5:00 pm, so instead of going all in on their footlong dogs, we made an easy decision: hand scooped strawberry milkshakes from triple o's. cold, creamy, and strawberry forward, it was just enough of a treat without committing to a full meal. there was plenty going on between innings too. the chicken dance made an appearance, there was the seventh inning stretch, a 50/50 draw, and all sorts of little bits of entertainment that kept everyone engaged. it's the kind of stuff that makes a live baseball game feel like an event rather than simply sitting down to watch nine innings. one of my favourite details was watching someone behind the scoreboard manually updating the scores and game information. there's something oddly satisfying about seeing it happen in real time rather than everything being instantly updated on a giant digital screen. and then there was the fan who caught a foul ball with one outstretched hand while holding a beer in the other. the crowd absolutely roared and broke into applause. honestly, that may have been one of the night's highlights. the scoreboard wasn't just about the score either. there were player stats, home run counts, stolen bases, and other bits of information that gave you something to keep an eye on between pitches. for someone who enjoys the little details, it added another layer to the game. the crowd really brought the atmosphere. at one point, everyone stood up and clapped in unison, creating this sudden wall of noise and energy around the stadium. it was loud, enthusiastic, and exactly the kind of thing you don't get watching a game from home. a big thank you to subaru for sponsoring the game and for the baseball cap and water bottle flask. free swag is always better when it's actually useful, and both were nice take home extras. nat bailey has been a fixture in vancouver baseball for decades, and while it's certainly not a modern, bells and whistles stadium, that's part of the charm. the relatively intimate seating, neighbourhood setting, mountain views, enthusiastic fans, and all the little traditions make it feel distinctly vancouver. there's something about baseball that slows everything down in the best possible way. sit back, sip a strawberry milkshake, root for the home team, do the chicken dance, stretch during the seventh inning, watch the scoreboard get updated by hand, and enjoy an evening at the ballpark. for it's one, two, three strikes, you're out, at the old ball game

They have multiple pathways and trails to walk or bike. We visited two of the children's playgrounds on two different days. Definitely plenty of parking all over. If you have little ones definitely recommend to visit to have their play time. It also is mini Butchart gardens if you missed the real one.
