The ONLY reason this place even deserves one star is because of the instructors, who honestly do the best they can with the little support and resources they're given. The students and instructors are carrying this school on their backs while administration sits around doing absolutely nothing to improve the environment. The campus director is on the biggest ego and power trip I have ever seen. She talks to students and staff however she wants, with zero professionalism or respect, and acts like she's untouchable. Instead of helping students succeed or even attempting to make the school run smoothly, she makes the environment stressful, uncomfortable, and completely toxic. There's no leadership, no accountability, and no actual support for the people paying thousands of dollars to be there. The condition of the school itself is honestly embarrassing. It is CONSTANTLY dirty, disorganized, and chaotic. I'm genuinely shocked state board hasn't walked in and shut the place down. Students are given cleaning tasks throughout the month. However half of the time the student in charge of cleaning either doesn't show up to school, and nobody is asked to fill in their job until the sink is overflowing with bowls of bleach, color, brushes, gel, etc. Or the student is given a client to work on instead, and can't get their job done before it's a complete mess. Just know you cannot expect to get any help from the campus director in situations like that, because she would rather give you dirty looks while she sits behind her computer playing games on her phone! students are genuinely expected to learn in an environment that feels neglected and poorly managed every single day. And don't even get me started on the receptionist who answers phones, schedules appointments, and checks clients in. She is consistently rude and nasty to clients for absolutely no reason. If someone doesn't know the exact "salon terminology" for what they want done, she makes them feel stupid instead of helping them. She also constantly turns away clients or refuses appointments because she assumes students "won't have enough time" to complete services, which literally takes opportunities and learning experiences away from students who NEED those clients to succeed. It's frustrating to watch. Again, the ONLY positive thing about this school is the instructors. They genuinely care and try their hardest, which makes me feel bad even writing this because they deserve so much better than the environment they're working in. I wish I could recommend this school because of them alone, but I can't in good conscience tell anyone to spend their money here. Unless you want to spend the next year in a constant manic episode dealing with stress, chaos, disorganization, and toxic leadership, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else instead.

I walked out of the facility and went to my car and called the director to tell her I would not be touring and I informed her what happened. She acted shocked and said she would speak to the staff. She also told me they were having a Halloween party and that is probably what I heard. No teacher should every yell shut up at a student like this and there is no way it was because there was a Halloween party going on. I would be very cautious to send my child there.

I get mostly positive feedback from kids about school, teachers, staff, etc. After school clubs are lacking. They are only offered occasionally. They always have a waiting list. Impossible to sign up for these. Lottery, now online, keeps changing. They don't make it easy to sign up. Way too many ways to get information. Ends up just being a mess. One teacher offers a webpage. One sends home paper updates. Other stuff to sign on online. How about one place online? With links to all the other stuff. We were here for over a year before we even knew there was online stuff for the school. Communication is lacking. The food that is served is embarrassingly junkie. It's very sad that we care so little about our children that these food choices are seen as "healthy." There is so little free, unstructured recess time and/or fresh air during their day. Even drinking water is not encouraged. I've heard the "1 2 3, save some for me" b.s. repeated so many times. Yes, children can bring a water bottle to school to keep at their desk. No, this is not encouraged or "advertised" to parents or kids. I'm very unaware of the social skills being taught and practiced by kids. But, I do know that there are examples of children being harassed, teased, singled out, and excluded. I'm not sure how these situations are handled. I can only hope kids are taught specific words and actions to use in these cases, and given frequent chances to practice. I really have no idea what happens once the school day begins. I don't feel welcome to volunteer- at least not for more than a quick 10-30 minutes when it works best for the school and teacher. My kids have had teachers that made them feel physically and emotionally safe, secure, and loved. They've also had teachers that didn't. I have never felt welcome here as a parent. I'm a well educated, but kinda quirky type. I want the best for my, and all, kids. I feel there's a clear barrier between staff and families. Unless we are there to be unquestioning cheerleaders for the staff and teachers, they want nothing to do with us. The principal has an impossible job. Very politician like in interactions. Somewhat condescending. It's next to impossible to get a spot in before and/or after school care. Unacceptable. No, this isn't the school, but a school partnership with another agency. Still, unacceptable.

I love how they offer an art and story time every month, both locations do! Today, one of the employees read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." Followed by painting her own mouse. It did cost $21 for the experience, but it was worth it! My little one loves to paint making this the perfect activity for her. This place of great for groups or even a solo date. Highly recommend!

The class sizes are reasonable and students get flexibility in work station type and set up and how to prioritize their assignments. The teachers are a great part of my child's educational team and are willing to accept guidance from therapists or provide observations to inform therapist decisions as my child does need some additional supports.
