I showed the pic of simple crew cut, ended up like a pineapple. I have shown the pic twice to the tattoo lady and she said she got it. However, she messed up every single part. The actual haircut looks nothing like the picture, and I can easily use trimmer to get even better result at home myself. She doesn't care about nothing, but the apron up-side-down, walking around finding her kits during the haircut. After, she only kept defending herself with nonsense. If you ever get here, at least get somebody else, I don't know why I am so unfortunate to deal with this lady and her ego. Being new to the city of Columbia also means that I have to find a new barber. A buddy of mine told me about a place that gives your beer while you get your haircut so I just had to try it out. Their website makes it super simple to schedule an appointment which I recommend using. I had the pleasure of getting Michael as my barber who was very adaptive and skilled with cutting hair. The shop also gives off a manly aesthetic but is welcome to anyone. They seem to offer a wide range of services but a basic haircut will run you about $28. It was fun and refreshing experience so I definitely recommend trying out this shop. read more

Is keen to detail and does excellent work with both your hair and facial hair. I noticed how much his workmanship means to him and the value he has for customers leaving with a stylish and good look. If your looking for a stylist that will take your hair seriously, I encourage you schedule an appointment with him. As for the establishment, Southern Gentleman's Barbering Company offers a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly. Customers have the convenience to schedule appointments on their smart phone through the companies app or can schedule an appointment on the phone. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment. They are willing to take walk-ins but depending on the time of day you could be waiting a while. When waiting for you haircut, the staff offer a complimentary drink and a comfortable TV lounge. Completely unprofessional. My time was not valued as a customer. I set an appointment days in advance because of how busy my schedule is, this was the only way to get a haircut in my available time. I arrived 15 minutes early, waited in the directed area, and was not approached or contacted again. 5 minutes late could be understandable, and my frustration over the lack of timeliness could have been soothed if there was a least attempts at communication from any of the staff. Though none of that happened. The behavior of the treatment I received as a customer is inexcusable, especially as the haircuts are not particularly inexpensive. If I'm paying a good amount of money for a product or service, I expect the same level of treatment. Got my haircut here for several years, with the vast majority being great cuts. Recently went in for a slight trim to clean things up, left with my hair absolutely butchered. About 20 minutes into the haircut the barber, Jake, admits that he "didn't really know what I was going for" well after he had damaged it beyond repair. Attempted to go back to get it fixed (to a high and tight, as that was really the only option I was left with after starting with relatively long hair) and was immediately kicked out of the chair. Joe gave me an undercut today, it's perfectly symmetrical and looks great! He double checked that I was comfortable with how it was going to look and the length it would be, and even tried a couple different lengths for me! He does a phenomenal job on my husbands hair every single time, so I knew I could trust him with my hair too. Not to mention he's incredibly fun to talk to, and definitely makes great company! Edit: I have to throw in that since we saw joe last, we've sent plenty of people his way and they've loved him. I'm always impressed by him. He works with my cowlicks and makes my undercut look very even. My husband has some bumps on his head, that other barbers always seem to knick or make look worse than they are, and you can't even tell he has them when Joe does his hair. I just moved to Columbia, and looking for a new barber shop. I am pretty particular about my haircuts, so I do a significant amount of research before I select a place. I found Southern Gentleman's Barbering on Yelp and was impressed by the quality of work in their photos, the outstanding reviews, and the easy online appointment booking system. The next morning, Lisa (owner), called me to let me know that there was no available appointments during the times that I requested, but wanted to reach out and make sure that I was responded to promptly. After a wonderful conversation, we found an early time slot for the next morning. The whole situation was professionally handled, with the warm southern hospitality that you can expect from the local population. Upon arriving, the staff and the owner, greeted me with a warm and friendly smile, and a big cup of coffee. They took me in immediately, gave me the best haircut I've had in a while, and made me feel like this is the place I'm going to get my haircut from now on.
