We had a leak on the backside of our roof. We called Marks roofing. He came and had one of his crew…read moreto go up the latter and look for the problem. The first round of repair cost us 2,000.00 dollars. The leak was not fixed. He came back, after the second round of repairs, he charged us 1,750.00 dollars. The leak still was not fixed. He then sent someone with a contract for another 5,400.00 for me to sign....Really?? Absolutely NOT!! I contacted another roofing company, they came and saw the problem right off. So I let them tear off the complete backside of my roof and start over. Immediately they found that Marks roofing crew had not peeled the backing from the adhesive fire and Ice shield . He came out and saw what his crew had not done, walked off as if no big deal. This guy is a crook and needs to be shut down and out of business. I'm a Viet Nam Veteran and a solid tax paying citizen . I pay my bills and taxes and doesn't take advantage of no one. How in hell he can live with himself?? He's a Crook and a Cheat.. His Crew?? Mostly Illegal I would think..

Bug infestation a week after moving in....called customer service redirected my call to warranty dept. Warranty dept said we have a lot of bugs in Tennessee....well hey, there is great quote. I have lived in TN more than 20 yrs. , owned 4 different houses....the Summertown Barndo build is the very first house I have owned which had bug infestation issues. Stink bugs in almost every light dome (about 30 of them in my house), each had to be removed by hand on a 12 ft ladder and cleaned. I work as a nurse (since 2004) and have heard and read about several patients falling from ladders. Before my Barndo build started I was contacted and assigned to 4 different building supervisors -- I did hear the one who oversaw my build is no longer there. The contract at Summertown is basically after move in they are hardly responsible for anything in the first yr. warranty. They offer "arbitration" in said contract I signed....I have asked about arbitration to receive a "we don't need arbitration" or no reply at all. My wrong floor color and wainscoting was corrected by Summertown. These guys are lock step in the wrong direction of what's good and has integrity. I was asked twice for more money after I had already signed my mortgage contract -- as if they were pan handling of things not mentioned until after I was close to moving date. It used to be here in TN and man's word was his bond. My building supervisor at the time told me everything could be corrected after I move in. The warranty dept. said no even to a light fixture installed by their hires (has no purpose), I kindly asked STM to remove it after I moved in, they said it's not our responsibility.
